Dulquer Salmaan on Thursday dropped the teaser of his anticipated next, Lucky Baskhar, and it is a perfect amalgamation of drama and right amount of thrill to keep one hooked. The film is written and directed by Venky Atluri, whose last, Sir, was a major success.
The one-minute-twenty-second teaser opens with a bespectacled Baskhar (DQ) getting ready for office. He navigates a massive traffic snarl to reach the office – Magadha Bank – where he is an employee. His co-workers brand him as a reliable, eligible and perfect choice for the bank. He has a love life in the form of Meenakshi Chowdary. He says he has a middle-class mentality. “During testing times, we save money but when it comes to honour, we will spend every rupee without thinking,” he adds. Soon, Baskhar finds amassing a horde of wealth. Does it have to do with sheer luck? Or how did he obtain it? What is his story? You have to catch the action on the big screen to know more.
Overall, the teaser is engaging and promises to paint the journey of a middle class man who becomes ultra rich. Dulquer is being Dulquer, mirroring a common middle class man with a thousand aspirations to faultlessness. The production values are super rich, effectively transporting us to a period gone by. GV Prakash heightens the drama with his beats and bops.
