The teaser of Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Family Star on Monday was delayed by a couple of hours but it was worth the wait.
Spanning more than a minute, the teaser opens with Vijay being equated to Kaliyuga Rama in what is a rap song which almost runs throughout the teaser. He is portrayed as a complete family man who shares close ties with all his family members and is willing to go to any length for them. If anyone messes with his family members, he doesn’t think twice to break their bones. His monthly budgets are precise and his designs are meticulous (Vijay seems to be playing an architect). His middle class values come to the fore when his wife, played by Mrunal, asks him to drop her at college. Slightly annoyed and gently caressing his heart, he replies, “I will drop you if you buy me a litre of petrol.”
Rounding up, the teaser replete with family moments promises a clean family entertainer, with Vijay playing a quirky middle class guy who is a skinflint. The rap song establishes Vijay’s character well, while the last scene bears the stamp of typical Parasuram humour.
Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Family Star, a Gopi Sundar musical, blazes into cinemas on April 5th.
Vijay Devarakonda looks lovely as a family man who is also a conjuse guy.
