The trailer of Family Star, headlined by Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, will bring a smile to your face. It was released by the makers at an event at Sri Ramulu theatre, Hyderabad on Thursday.
The near two-and-a-half minute video opens with Govardhan (played by Deverakonda) praying to God to not give him any new breaks. “Just don’t spoil what I have,” he requests. He is an architect who takes stairs to an office and is a teetotaler. Soon, Indu (Mrunal) enters his life as a tenant. She is a fun-loving and jovial woman who likes to mingle with everyone. Initially, Govardhan doesn’t like her but soon falls for her. Their relationship hits a major hurdle after some time and how Govardhan wins her back while battling a raft of adversaries seems to form the crux of the story, which is peppered with romance, family emotions and humour in equal measure. The trailer is also filled with a hilarious reference to Geetha Govindam, where Vijay, in the climax, falls on the feet of Subbaraju to win Rashmika Mandanna. The trailer ends with Govardhan asking Indu to hit him to vent out her anger. To his shock, she slaps. That’s Parasuram’s writing for all of you.
Overall, the trailer has a blockbuster vibe written all over it, with Vijay in supreme form, adapting to every situation like a middle-class man would. Mrunal is beautiful and seems to have got another meaty part. Together their chemistry is crackling. From Vijay’s characterization to dialogue to romance, the trailer completely bears the stamp of Parasuram, while the background score of Gopi Sundar enhances the appeal of the trailer a notch higher.
