They
are back! Krishna Vamsi, Mani Sharma and
Sirivennela, after giving us some memorable melodies
in Murari, are now back joining hands for yet
another eagerly awaited summer saga Sri Anjaneyam
produced by Krishna Vamsi under his home banner Karthikeya
Creations.
Sri
Anjaneyam has action king Arjun, successful
youth hero Nitin and the new bubbly heroine Charmy
in the main leads. All of Nitin's films so far [Jayam,
Dil, Sambaram] had RP Patnaik as the music director
and this is the first time Mani Sharma composes for
a Nitin starrer. But more than anything, Sri Anjaneyam
is looked forward to because of its creative director
Krishna Vamsi, whose name evokes great curiosity and
high expectations among movie-goers [including me].
Krishna
Vamsi and Sirivennela gave us many songs in the past,
right from Gulabi through Khadgam, that
remain etched in our memories as ever lasting gems.
So, what are they treating us now with? Mani Sharma's
melodious compositions for Murari were received
exceptionally well by Telugu song lovers [and more].
Does he recreate the same magic with Sri Anjaneyam?

1.
Ooregi Raavayya
This thumping beat song on Hanuman is an instant winner
for its sheer energy. Though the orchestration gives
a déjà vu feeling at some places, it nonetheless
instills right amount of vigor into this number sung
appreciably by Shankar Mahadevan. Veturi's
extremely catchy lyrics display his workmanship to clap
worthy effect. Mani Sharma, a master at composing such
beat-based numbers, pleases all sections of listeners
with this number.
2.
Raama Raama Raghuraama
This beautiful melody showcases Mallikharjun's
singing prowess again. Mani Sharma should be appreciated
for bringing out the best in Mallikharjun with songs
like - Nee navvula (Aadi), Ghallu ghallu (Indra),
Saahasam swaasaga (Okkadu), Nagaramlo (Adavi Ramudu),
to name a few. Mallikharjun grabs this opportunity with
open arms and embraces our hearts with his beautiful
rendition. Sirivennela's simple words paint a
lucid picture of Anji's life [Anji is the character
played by Nitin], his village and his favorite god Hanuman
[played by Arjun]. Mani Sharma composes this soft number
beautifully.
3.
Avvayi Tuvvayi
Though this one's catchy it is nothing but just another
typical composition of Mani Sharma. Inspite of the orchestration
reminding us of previous Mani Sharma songs, don't be
surprised if you actually enjoy this number. Tippu
and Shreya Ghoshal sing this one, penned by Sirivennela,
aptly.
4.
Poola Ghuma Ghuma
A potential chartbuster in this album. It has the right
amounts of everything - enticing and racy orchestration
by Mani Sharma, heavenly rendition by Shreya Ghoshal
and top notch lyrics by Sirivennela. Since this
is a seductive number, Shreya handles it well with her
syrupy vocals not going overboard and sounds much better
here than in the above duet. But it's actually the lyrics
that do the magic this time around. For most part, Sirivennela
conveys the girl's seducing attempts in plain words
that come in the garb of an underlying tempting desire.
Whether its Mouniva maanuva teilchuko maanava or
taapame tummedai teeyani tene ni or munipanti tho na
pedavi pai mallelei tunchuko, the master lyricist
revels in each and every word by literally playing it
to the galleries.
5.
Tikamaka Makatika
When Sirivennela himself said in the audio
function [of Sri Anjaneyam] that he
has derived immense pleasure working on this song, you
know what to expect from this number. Listen to the
song and sample these - kaTTali neeloni anveshana
kanneeTi pai vantena; Nee shokame shlokamai palikinchara
manishi. It's not just these lines but the entire
song that casts its spell on you. Take a bow sir, for
presenting a sublime purport in simple words. And who
else than SPB to give life to Sirivennela's soulful
words? SPB lends this song a matchless rendition. Great
job, sir! Mani's composition starts off slowly, picking
up gradually with an arresting tempo. Don't miss some
beautiful guitar music flashes in the interludes.
Apart
from the above songs there's a slokam
on Hanumaan sung by Chitra and Kalpana
and a [highly] situational number E Yogamanukonu
sung by SPB which has Sirivennela's sword
like pen shining with an unparalleled radiance giving
away short glimpses of the movie's theme/story.
Overall,
Mani Sharma as extremely catchy tunes in this album.
Though most of the songs are composed with a heard before
orchestration that is so typical of Mani Sharma, there
is no stopping for the rising popularity of these songs
in the coming weeks. But it's about time for Mani Sharma
to change his style of orchestration to make his songs
sound not only catchy but also fresh. That aside, Krishna
Vamsi, Mani Sharma and Sirivennela have yet another
winner in Sri Anjaneyam after Murari.
