This ad is a
Telugu version of Salman Khan's Hindi Thumps Up campaign. After
a soothing ride on a bike, the goggles-wearing Chiru reaches the
podium and asks the youngsters to taste the two colas and tell their
opinion. They feel that one of that is very sweetened and the other
one is strong. And then they realize that the strong one is THUMPS
UP, which makes that drink eligible to the grownup people and the
other cola (read Pepsi) is meant for kids as it has lot of sweetener.
This is the
first aggressive campaign by Coke people who were troubled by Pepsi
in a couple of incidents. When Coke managed world cup rights in
one of the cricket world cups and earned the tag of "Official
Sponsor of World Cup", Pepsi mocked Coke by making Azar, Sachin
& Dravid saying 'Nothing Official About It'. The latest maligning
campaign by Pepsi was by fielding Sharukh and Hrithik look-a-like
in their ads, in which Sharukh makes fun of Hrithik. Hrithik is
the model for Coke.
As a response
to the Pepsi's adverse campaign, Coke has decided to put forth Thumps
Up, a sister product of Coke that produced by erstwhile Parle India.
Now, we have to wait and see how Pepsi is going to respond to this
Thumps Up challenge campaign with Pawan Kalyan as a model for them.
