Story

Chamundeswari (Nagma) is an industrial baron. She is a headstrong lady who loves money and neglects human relations. She dominates her husband (Naresh) completely. Rama Krishna (NTR) joins Chamundeswari's house as a servant. Se has a beautiful daughter named Mythili (Aarti) who is kind hearted and cares for poor people. In the process, Ramu wins the heart of Mythili. But, she is loved by a son of a minister (Vizag Prasad). Mythili falls in love with Ramu after looking at his innocence and loyalty. One day, Mythili dares to jump from a temple cliff when Ramu refuses her love. Ramu promises her that he would marry her to avoid that situation. Meanwhile, Chamundeswari get angry with Ramu for being in love with her daughter and summons her father Pasupathi (Jayaprakh) and her five brothers to help her. When they arrive to warn Ramu, we also see another old man (K Viswanath) entering the scene as the grandfather of Ramu. And it is revealed that Ramu and Mythili are related to each other.

Ramu has a sister-in-law (maradalu) called Rukhmini, who is head on heels over Ramu. Mythily and Ramu love is two-sided. Rukhmini's love is one sided.

Chamundeswari settles the marriage of Mythili with the son of Minister. But Arti runs away from home and reaches Ramu's house in Piduguralla. Since Mythili is a minor, Chamundeswari lodges a police complaint. But Chamundeswari's husband says that she is not abducted and she came along with him to stay at Ramu's house, as they are relatives. Then the collector orders that Mythili should stay under government protection, till she becomes a major.

After Mythili becomes a major, she prefers to return back to her mother. Would Ramu foils the marriage of Mythili with Minister's son and brings Mythili back with him or not is the point that's is dealt in the climax.

Artists:

NTR: NTR is the one man who dominated the entire show in all the departments. His dances are amazing and effortless in all the songs of the film. His voice is improved a lot and he maintained constant base of the voice. He is obese in few scenes and slimmed down in other scenes.

Nagma: She is apt for the role. This film is the beginning of her second innings as 'aunty'.

Arti Agrawal: Arti Agrawal is cute, but little fat, in this film. She is traditional in regular scenes and is pretty hot in songs.

Gajala: She did a typical second heroine role, who fills up the 2-song and 4-scene pattern. She is looking homely.

LB Sriram: His role is a typical take off on Maada role of Vetagadu. He provided some mass comedy in the first half.

Jaya Prakash: He provided good comedy with his typical seema dialect in the second half.

Technical Departments:

Story: The story has similarities to lots of 'Atha - Alludu' films like Anasuyammagari Alludu, Allari Alludu and Nari Nari Naduma Murari in the first half. But the story has different complexion in the second half. Looks like the story in the second half is reworked to suit the newly found mass mega image of NTR after Aadi.

Screenplay - Direction: B Gopal dealt the first half well with mass comedy between Nagma and NTR. In the second half B Gopal lost grip over subject and meandered through scenes that are unnecessarily inserted to glorify the mass image of NTR. The touch of B Gopal is missing in making the mass scenes effective the film.

Dialogues: Paruchuri brothers gave terrific dialogues in this film. The comedy punch given through LB Sriram is good. They wrote very good ferocious dialogues to NTR. But they could not restrain from writing too much about magatanam (manhood) of hero, just like they did for Seema Simham. Like earlier films, NTR dialogues have too many references to Thatha (Sr. NTR). There is one particular dialogue uttered by NTR (is NTR making any political move?) that criticizes the chief minister.

Music: Music by RP Patnaik is good in this film. The songs 2002 Varaku and Voppula Kuppa are instant hits among the public theater crowds. Background music is also apt. There is a situational song bit, which is not included in the audio, in the film toward climax.

Production: Production of the film is done on a lavish scale. The producer inserted blasting scenes of jeeps and tractors in the climax, though not necessary, for richness.

Analysis: The first half of the film is good (if you excuse mass aspect of the comedy). But the second half is average and boring at times, as the director meanders to insert too many things in too little time. The flashback scenes in the film are not dealt well. For any film, a good climax gives greater impact. But this film's climax is very cinematic. The USP (Unique Selling Point) of this film is NTR and you can watch this film once. If you look for entertainment value as a normal viewer, you might get disappointed because of second half.
