Story

Vasu is an orphan, who lost his parents at a tender age. He becomes a famous architect and falls in love with Maanasa (Charmi) and marries her. Maanasa is a kindhearted lady and loves doing charity work for orphans. After two months of marriage, Maanasa gets hurt in a car accident. The doctors declare that Maanasa would not survive. There is a heart patient Sindhu (Rimmi Sen) who is in need of a heart for her heart transplantation surgery. Maanasa agrees to give away her heart to Sindhu. Maanasa expires and her heart is transplanted into Sindhu.

The devastated Vasu goes spiritual way and decides to build a huge orphanage on the name of Maanasa. Sindhu acquires the address of Vasu and sends him a thank-you greeting card for the favor he has done. But the absent-minded secretary of Vasu misplaces it. After a few months, Sindhu forgets about getting in touch with Vasu and leads a normal life.

Accidentally Sindhu and Vasu meet and gradually they fall in love. Vasu is not aware that Sindhu is the same girl who has undergone heart transplantation. Sindhu is not aware that Vasu is the husband of deceased Maanasa. Rest of the film deals with how Sindhu and Vasu get united.

Similarities between 'Nee Thodu Kavali' (NTK) and 'Return To Me'

  • Hero is a building contractor in original. Hero is a leading architect in NTK.
  • Heroine meets with car accident in both these films.
  • Both the second heroines are transplanted with the hearts of first heroines
  • In both these films, hero loves the second heroine without knowing that her heart his first wife's heart.
  • The second heroine in original is a waitress working in an Irish café managed by her grand father and his buddies. The second heroine in NTK is also working in a café called 'rest - on - rent' owned by her grandfather and his retired buddies.
  • Both the heroes have a pet dog in their houses.

Performances:

Artists:

Deepak: Deepak is a model material. Acting wise, he is just OK. Since, he is shown as a reserved person in the film, he suited the role.

Charmi: She is pretty cute. But, she lacks spontaneity in her expressions and naturalness in her body language. For a debutant, she is pretty impressive.

Rimmi Sen: She did well with in her limitations.

Technical Departments:

Story, Screenplay, Direction: Story of the film is novel. But it is heavily inspired by David Duchovny's (hero of x-files series on Star Plus) starrer 'Return to Me'. Screenplay is very shabby. You can find people yawning in the theaters for the kind of sluggishness the film has. Direction is good in patches. Over all, Bheemineni failed as a director for 'Nee Thodu Kavali'.

Dialogues: Marudhuri Raja's work is just average.

Music: All the songs in this film are lifted from popular tunes of Telugu hit films. This should the way to encourage new talent. The title track of the film is very impressive.

Analysis: This film is a badly made one. Only few scenes of the film are interesting. Rest of the film is quite boring. It needs tremendous expertise to deal with sensitive wafer-thin storylines like these. Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao failed to narrate the film in an interesting style. Watch this film at your own risk.
