Gudipoodi Srihari Review

Despite failure at box office, S.V. Krishna Reddy's films continue to generate interest. He attempts a teenage love theme this time for Jaabili but seems to have lost his magical touch. The title turns out to be irrelevant to the story. The film goes haywire due to poor story and dialogues.

This film starts in a college, where students ragging the lecturers is a daily routine. The cheap jokes played at the expense of the lecturers and lecturers retaliating in the same manner makes the audience wonder as to what has become of the student-teacher relationship.

From this chaos sprouts love between Hemanth (Dilip) and Lavanya (Rekha). But Hemanth's father (Chalapati Rao) vetoes his son's plea to marry Lavanya who belongs to the middleclass. Therefore, Hemanth plans to elope with Lavanya. But the latter discourages him. They decide to make money so that they can stand on their feet.

The scenes look patchy. A poor show unexpected of Krishna Reddy, where even the music too lacks the usual vigor and sense. The background score does not match the mood of situation and drowns the dialogue, due to poor mixing. Dilip is a familiar face as model, with some odd resemblance to Aamir Khan while Rekha displays ease in acting, though the mostly observed expression on her face is a 'question mark' or an 'exclamation'. But she has the potential to improve. The character artistes have a poor show to enact.
