Gudipoodi Srihari Review

The film, with a focus on the faction fights in Rayalaseema, is rather disappointing. Every aspect including the diction is artificial. The artistes, while dubbing, forget about Rayalaseema dialect and slip into routine diction. Secondly, serious and violent characters are diluted and pushed into comic zone. One finds this happening to S.P. Yadav (Sudhakar) and Lakshma Reddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao).

Suresh plays Raghava, a young man with a violent background but who wishes to change. The film opens with Raghava praying for 'Vijayam', which obviously include the 'Vijayam', which of this film. He wants to marry a girl named Anjali (Rajashri), a close relative and his childhood friend. He comes to this city to pursue a peaceful vacation. But the local goondas, headed by S.P. Yadav, try to provoke him but are beaten back. The letters S and P stand for 'settlement' and 'punishment' which is Yadav's vocation. Anjali detests Raghava's violent naure. Undaunted, Raghava applies other methods to win her heart - like standing in rain before her house. The narration suddenly slips into flashback where somebody suggests to Raghava to apply violent methods to win Anjali.

This part has nothing much to relate but for showing a bit of family scenes. Raghava's maternal uncle (Chalapati Rao) refuses to give his daughter Anjali tohim in marriage. When their opponent Lakshma Reddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao) asks his son Raghava to behead Lakshma Reddy. But Raghava satisfies himself by just humiliating the enemy. Raghava's childhood friend Anajali arrives along with her parents. When the question of their marriage arises, his uncle refuses to give his daughter stating that his legs in faction wars. Veerareddy lost his wife and his legs in faction wars. Veera Reddy then dies of a stroke. Raghava's sister Lalitha insists that Raghava should marry Anjali in order to bring the families together. Rest of the drama moves in the direction.

Suresh and Rajashri in the lead roles occupy most part of the first half. Strnangely Raghava behaves like an innocent, but there are fights that involve him, which are anything but innocent. The character artistes have nothing much to do in the film. Music and photography are average.
