Gudipoodi Srihari Review

Director Kodanadarami Reddy, who's known for handling family themes, ventures into comedy this time. But he has the support of its Malayalam original for which Priyadarshan scripted the story.

Mohanbabu and Srikanth pair as friends, to kick-start this humor machine. It is out and our slapstick comedy with all the characters running around from one embarrassing situation to he other. Sivaji (Mohanbabu) wants money for his mother's (Annapoorna) medical treatment. But his friend Ramesh (Srikanth) is a habitual cheat. The two have another cheat in their company- a petite Cheechu (Radhika Chowary).

The story takes off at Mumabi's slum area, where you find an assortment of Telugu speaking people in different fields of work, Ramesh is already there, aspiring to join the "loot-the-bank operations" planned and executed by Koteswara Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and his stuttering younger brother (Ali). Sivaji arrives there in search of a job. Ramesh makes him as one more accomplice in this bank robbery. They manage to succeed, but fun-loving girl Cheechu telephones police informing them of this burglary. To avoid police, Sivaji and Ramesh get into the palace of an erstwhile Zamindar Bhupati (Balayya), living with his wife (Sujatha) alone, after they have lost their son and daughter-in-law in an accident and also their sight in the same tragedy. How Sivaji and Ramesh exploit the situation there and get entangled in the their affairs forms rest of the film, of course with rib-tickling situations.

Mohanbabu and Srikanth set themselves well in the roles. Gracy Singh makes her presence interesting towards the end of the film. Balayya and Sujatha live in their roles. Keeravani's music score and Jayaram's photographic work accentuate the dramatic impact of the film.
