Help from NATS and AP Govt to NJ Fire Victims

A massive fire accident occurred in Avenel, New Jersey, USA on Tuesday afternoon. 52 apartment units of 2 Blocks of Colonial Gardens Apartment building was burnt to ashes. Majority of the affected families are of Telugu Origin. Cause of the fire is still unknown and still being investigated by police and fire departments and there was enormous damage due to this fire accident.

Luckily, there were no casualties and everybody living in the apartment complex has been evacuated safely. Unfortunately, they have lost all of their belongings including clothes, food, furniture, gold and most importantly documents like Educational certificates, Passports, visas, other Immigration Documents, Vehicle registration certificates, Birth Certificates, Property Documents etc. Also, there are some elder people that came from India to see their kids and grand kids here got affected and lost all their immigration documents like visa, passports etc.

NATS President Ravi Madala expressed his deepest sympathies to the effected people and assured that NATS would do everything it can, in bringing back the situation to normalcy. NATS local team in the area - Mohana Krishna Mannava, Joint Secretary of NATS, Murali Medicharla, NATS Media Coordinator, NATS Helpline Team - Ranjit Chaganti, Leela Krishna Kanikicharla and other local NATS team members rushed to the site and met with affected families and extended their help to ease the situation. They made sure that all the affected families have food, temporary shelter and currently working on the logistics to help them with restoring their permanent shelter and getting back the documentation, they lost.

NATS Spoke to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Mr.Nadendla Manohar garu and he expressed his deepest condolences and assured all the help from A.P. Government. NATS sent the list of victims to Mr.Nadendla Manohar and Mr.Manohar garu assured his help to let the corresponding District collectors to work with concerned local officials at the Mandal and village level to help the victims with any of their lost educational certificates, Birth Certificates, Property Documents etc and to expediate the process. NATS Director, Dr. Madhu Korrapati and Mr.Mohana Krishna Mannava are working with the Indian consulate and USCIS officials in getting the lost passport and immigration documents of victims as soon as possible. NATS is also in touch with the local officials, Police for expediting the process of getting the lost documentation like - Vehicle Registration documents, SSNs and other official documents lost in this accident.
