Two avatars for Chiranjeevi Indra
is playing two avatars in Aswini Dutt's prestigious film 'Indra' that
is being directed by B Gopal. Chiranjeevi's Varanasi name is 'Shankar
Narayan' and his get up is very much similar to that of 'Choodalani
Vundi'. Chiranjeevi's Rayalaseema name is Indra Sena Reddy (Indra, in
short) getup has the shades of Balayya's Samara Simha Reddy and Narasimha
Naidu with Chiru donning khaddar white shirts, sporting a curly mustache
and black Raybon glasses. Sonali Bendre is playing the role of Sneha
Latha Reddy. Arti Agrawal is doing a heroine character with negative
shades. Prakash Raj, Punit Issar and Mukesh Rushi are playing villains.
Mani Sharma is scoring music. Chiranjeevi is leaving for abroad to shoot
a couple of songs in May. The shooting of 'Indra' would be completed
by end of June 2002. The producer is contemplating on releasing 'Indra'
in July 2002.
Mahesh Babu's Okkadu sold for 2.1 crores in Ceded
expectations are growing more day by day for Mahesh Babu's film 'Okkadu',
that is being produced by MS Raju. Guna Sekhar directs this film. A
buzz that's making rounds in Film Nagar is that Okkadu is sold for 2.1
crores on NRA (Non Returnable Advance) basis for Ceded region. Art director
Ashok Kumar constructed the old city in a studio by spending an awesome
amount of 1.5 crores for this film. Bhumika Chawla is doing female lead.
Recently the unit has canned the song 'Cheppave Chirugaali
Chakkaga Eda gilli
' in the dance direction of Raju Sundaram
on Mahesh Babu, Bhumika Chawla and Niharika. According to MS Raju this
song, which is written by Sirivennela, would stand as highlight song.
The current schedule would be held till 31st of May. The entire shooting
of the film would be completed by October 2002. Mani Sharma provides
music. Prakash Raj plays a vital role in this film.
Japanese actress is selected as one of the heroines of Rajni Kanth's
Baba. The other heroines are Manisha Koirala and Sanghvi. Lotus film
international, the own banner of Rajnikanth' is producing this film
in Telugu and Tamil. AR Rehman is providing music and Suresh Krishna,
the director of Basha, is directing this exciting venture. Baba would
be having an interesting caption - 'Telisindi Gorantha
Kondantha'. Sri Rama Krishna pens the dialogues. Prakash Raj, Amrish
Puri and Asish Vidyardhi play other major roles. Shooting of this film
is currently going on in the Campacola compound in Chennai. Later on
the unit would move to Bangalore and Chennai to shoot the remaining
part. This film is expected to hit the big screen in the month of August
on the same day simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.
