Smita to perform at TANA
Pop star smita has been invited to perform at the forthcoming convention of TANA in United States. Smita will be performing for half an hour on 3rd of July at a special banquet being held on the opening day of the conference in San Franscisco.

Johnny trimmed by editors
Few editors summoned by Geeta Arts are in their job today to trim the second half of the film by 20 minutes. Various editors are sent to individual theaters that play Johnny and they edited the part of the second half. We have to wait and see if this editing yields any improvement in the Box office results of Johnny.

Ramana Gogula's devotional album
After enthralling the music lovers with his typical funky music, Ramana Gogula is all set to release his first private devotional album on Lord Venkateswara. Ramana Gogula composed 7 tunes for this album. Veturi writes all the lyrics. Ramana Gogula sang a song and all the famous playback singers sang other songs.

Masterji's details
Masterji - a talented lyricist from Nizam area - made his presence felt by writing 3 songs for Pawan Kalyan's Johnny album. Though, he has written more than 500 private songs so far he never got a chance to write lyrics for films. Pawan Kalyan got to know about Masterji and asked him to write 3 songs. Actually, 'Ravoyi Maa Countryki' song was written by Masterji in 1992 during the invasion of globalization in India. Even the 'Nuvvu Sara' song was written by Masterji when Vavilala took the revolutionary decision to ban on alcohol products in AP through intensified protests. But 'Narazu Kaku' song was written especially for Johnny film as per the demand of the situation.

Nitin likes Johnny
When we met Nitin at the pressmeet of Sambaram today (27th April), Nitin said that he likes Johnny film a lot. He fascination for Johnny has gone to such an extent that the he wore talismans (Tayattulu) to his neck as he is inspired by Pawan Kalyan's Talisman in his Johnny film.

Compromise on PK-DC issue
The '18th April Crisis' came to end today when APUWJ (Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists) and MAA (Movie Artists Association) jointly announced that things are sorted out between the MAA and APUWJ and all is well now. However, it is learnt that the decision is taken without consulting AP Film Critics Association. MAA President Murali Mohan and APUWJ President Amar issued a joint statement in this regard.

More details on Palnadu
Shooting of a part of the climax of B Gopal - Balayya's latest offing is taking place at Pullur village near Kurnool now. The current schedule would take place till 28th of this month. The final song of the film would be taken place at Ramoji Film City from 30th April onwards on Bala Krishna, Sonali Bendre and Arti Agarwal. The complete postproduction work of this film would be completed by 10th of May 2003. This film is slated for the release in either 2nd week or the 3rd week of May 2003. Palnadu is the title under consideration for this film.

Rajasekhar in Ayudham
The title of Poornodaya banner's film with Raja Sekhar as hero is confirmed as 'Ayudham'. The tagline of this film is going to be 'For Piece'. Raja Sekhar is playing the role of scientist who opposes the faction culture. Gurlin Chopra is paired up with Raja Sekhar in this film. N Shankar directs this venture. Vandemataram provides music.

Mahesh Fans celebrate at Sudarshan
Mahesh Babu's blockbuster Okkadu is celebrating 100 days today. In Hyderabad, a procession is being carried out by Prince Mahesh fans from all the six theaters where Okkadu is celebrating 100 days to the 7th and main theater Sudarshan 35mm this evening in a style. The entire theater of Sudarshan 35mm is decorated with fresh flowers. The lucky fans, who managed to get the tickets to the 2nd show of Okkadu at Sudarshan35mm are going to have a gala of time. The entire compound of Sudarshan35mm resembled the festive atmosphere with fans firing lots of crackers.

Daughters as heroines
Telugu film industry is a male dominated one. All the producers, technicians and heroes are eager to launch their sons, but none of them really come forward to launch their daughters. Here are a few exceptions. The actress Gayatri Raghuram - who is currently acting in Raviraja Pinisetty's Maa Baapu bommaki pellanta - is the daughter of coreographer duo Raghuram-Girija. The actress Swapna Rao - who is currently acting in 'Pavan Subba Lakshmi Preminchukunnaranta! - is the daughter of famous cinematographer WV Rao (of Varma's Rangeela fame). It may be recalled that Varma's find Anthra Mali is the daughter of famous lensman Jagadish Mali.

Rajendra Prasad in Sriramachandrulu
Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam are playing the title roles of 'Sriramachandulu' in a film to be directed by I Srikanth of 'Little Hearts' fame Raasi and Kovai Sarala are going to be paired up with the heroes. Birla enters Telugu film Industry
Aditya Birla Group is making a grand entry in Telugu film productions now. They have established a banner called 'Applause Entertainment Pvt. Limited' and are going to produce a straight Telugu film titled 'Tapana (Love is not easy)' in the direction of debutant director Dhanaraj. Dhanaraj - an engineer by academic qualification and an admaker by profession - would be directing this film. He earlier assisted SV Rajendra Singh Babu in Kannada for many films. He won 5 Nandi awards for his teleserial 'Addugodalu' in 20000. Siddardh - the heir of popular actress Jaya Prada - is making his debut through this film as hero. Raima Sen is going to play the heroine. Prabhu Deva also plays another important role. 'Applause Entertainment Pvt. Limited' that is currently producing a Hindi film with Amitab Bachchan and Fardeen Khan in the main leads has screened more than 80 subjects in Telugu before selecting the script by Dhanaraj.

APUWJ condemns CM's statement
CM Chandra Babu Naidu has issued a statement today and requested the press not to invade the privacy of celebrities. He also assured that he would solve the issue of Pawan Kalyan and journalists amicably. On this note, APUWJ (AP Union of Working Journalists) held a meeting today evening at Press Club and condemned the statements of the CM. The APUWJ felt that when an event is happening at the house of celebrity of Chiranjeevi, the media would go invited to cover to it, as it's a very important media occasion. If they don't want media to cover the event, they could tell the same to the journalists. If the journalists did not listen to them, they can hand the journalists over to police instead of beating them up. APUWJ also demanded the celebrities who spoke on Teja TV channel about journalists to withdraw their statements. Amar - the president of APUWJ - spoke on this occasion.

Rallies accross the state by Pawan fans

The Megastar and Powerstar fans association held a rally today. In this rally nearly 75 scooters participated. In total, 200 people attended this rally and completed successfully by submitting Fans request letter to M.R.O. to forward it to the Chief Minister. In this letter the fans have requested the authorities to take necassary action on DC and Andhrabhoomi about their Yellow Journalism. For the starters, Palakol is the native place of Allu's Family. This rally was organized very successfully.

10$ ticket for Johnny in USA
For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, the ticket price of Johnny is hiked from a nominal $8 to $10 for the release of Johnny film in USA. It's going to be $10 for adults and $7 for children for Johnny film in IMC6 at Sunnyvale and Detroit. There would be 29 and 9 shows (for 7 days) in Sunnyvale and Detroit respectively. In Imc6 Sunnyvale this film is going to be screened on DTS screen.

Johnny gets U certificate
Pawan Kalyan's Johnny got censored today (21st of April 2003) and obtained a clean U certificate. This film is all set for a worldwide release in 300+ theaters on 25th of April 2003. Renu Desai plays female lead. Allu Arvind produces this film on Geeta Arts banner.

Exciting details of Seetayya
Here are some exciting details about the 'Rayalaseema' song pictured in Ananthaput with a 60-feet NTR statue backdrop. This song written by C Narayana Reddy talks about the historical celebrities from Rayalaseema region. The first celebrity is Lord Venkateswara. A clipping from NTR's Venkateswra Mahatyam would be shown in the song. The second celebrity is Sri Madvirat Veerabrahmendra Swamy. An NTR clipping from NTR's 'Veera Brahmendra Swamy Charitra is shown. The third celebrity is Emperor Sri Krishna Devarayalu. Balayya's clipping is shown from Aditya369. As per the insiders, Seetayya film is going to be eye feast for all the movie lovers in general and Nandamuri fans in particular.

Balayya shoots in Kurnool
The unit of B Gopal - Balayya has returned from abroad after canning a couple of songs. The unit is currently in Kurnool canning some scenes against the Kurnool fort backdrop. Later on the unit would move to Ramoji Film City to can the last song. Its been a sentiment for Bala Krishna to end the shooting part of his film by canning a song at RFC. This film is expected to release in the first half of May 2003.

Nijam shooting at Sanghi temple
The unit of Nijam is expected to move to Chennai to shoot the last song of the film. But due to some unknown reasons, the Chennai schedule is cancelled and the same song is being shot at the Sanghi temple in the outskirts of Hyderabad. With the shooting of this song, Nijam completes its shooting. Nijam is expected to hit the marquee on 9th of May 2003.

In an interview given to a local film magazine, producer MS Raju said that he got inspired by a lyric in Chiranjeevi's Sri Manjunatha film that goes like 'Okkade Okkade Manjunadhudokkade'. With this inspiration he titled his film with Mahesh Babu as 'Okkadu'. Talking about Okkadu, the length of the final cut is 14000 feet. But director Guna Sekhar exposed about 2,47,000 ft to get the best effects.

YVS Chowdary's hot projects
YVS Chowdary is in the process of completing the shooting of his latest film 'Seetayya' in Rayalaseema. Speaking to idlebrain.com, YVS Chowdary has given details of his forthcoming hot projects.

Devdas (Premalo Munigi Telandi): This film is an out and out positive love story with new faces. If the original Devdas became drunkard and made his life and parvathy's life end in a sad way, this modern Devdas takes it in a positive way and ends up marrying the Parvathy. This modern love story is going to have high technical values in terms of photography, sets and costumes. This film would be shot in both India and USA. YVS Chowdary is going to have story, screenplay and direction to his credit. MM Keeravani provides music.

Okka Magaadu (One and Only): This film is going to be made with a big star. This film would have all commercial ingredients that make a film a big blockbuster. As per YVS, the hero who acts in this film would get amazing mass worship from masses after the movie releases. YVS Chowdary would provide story and screenplay and direction. ANOTA is about an irresponsible father
The film 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai' speaks and deals about an irresponsible father played by Prakash Raj. Jaya Sudha plays the wife of Prakash Raj. Nijam audio on 18th April
The owners of Sohan audio have informed idlebrain.com that the audio of Teja - Mahesh Babu - RP Patnaik - Kula Sekhar combination film 'Nijam' is going to hit the market on 18th of this month. Initially it was planned to release on 14th of this month. Since this audio is releasing with maximum number of units it is getting delayed.

Its Vijaya Yatra's season
Recently released Gangotri is doing well with steady collection. Nitin's Dil is doing terrific business at box office. To make these films more noticeable, the units of these films started Vijaya Yatras. The Dil unit visited all the theaters playing Dil in Hyderabad today. The Gangotri unit has toured Warangal, Karim Nagar and Nizamabad today to express their gratitude.

Pratyusha Group that made a mark in businesses like Pratyusha Associates, Pratyusha Chemicals and Fertilizers, Pratyusha Hatcheries, Pratyusha Constructions, Pratyusha Aquaculture, Pratyusha Engineering college (Chennai), Pratyusha Power Limited is entering in to film industry with a big bang. This banner is going to produce a film each with Vamsi, Poori Jagan and VN Aditya soon. Paruchuri Raja Rao - the producer - said that he is planning to produce 2 films an year. Devender Goud has done the 'jyoti prajwalana' and Central Minister for Information and Broadcasting has unveiled the logo of the banner. VN Aditya also attended this function.

Matrudevobhava in Hindi
KS Rama Rao's masterpiece 'Matrudevobhava' is going to be remade in Hindi by Villa Art creations. Chadalawada Srinivasa Rao would produce this film. Ajay Kumar who directed the Telugu version is going to direct this Hindi version.

Mahesh Babu in Sainyam
MS Raju has registered a title 'Sainyam' for a film to be produced with prince Mahesh Babu as hero. The muhurat of this film would happen on 10th May 2003, which also happens to be the birthday of MS Raju. Incidentally, Muhurat of MS Raju's earlier blockbuster Manasantha Nuvve was also organized on 10th May 2001. The other details of cast and crew would be announced on 10th May.

CCT helps Rajan P Dev
Rajan P Dev, who acted as villain in films like Kushi, Aadi etc suffered with jaundice while shooting for the film 'Praanam' in Rajahmundry. He was asked by the doctors of Rajahmundry to shift to Vijayawada. He needed 10 units of O negative blood. Since its very difficult to get the blood of that group, Dr. Samaram has taken the initiative and procured 10 units from Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. Currently, he is recuperating from jaundice in Vijayawada. He is thanking Chiranjeevi for starting CCT, which helped him in getting his health back!

Balayya new film on 28th April
The shooting of Balayya's new film with Aditya productions in the direction of Swarna Subba Rao would start at 11:50 am on 28th of April 2003 amidst the hordes of Balayya fans at Rama Krishna Horticultural Studios, Nacharam. Koti already starts recording of the songs of this film.

Anji graphics work is still on
Shyam Prasad Reddy is shuttling between London and Hyderabad. He recently came to Hyderabad after long stint at London. While speaking to idlebrain.com, Shyam told that he would be traveling to London again in a couple of days. He wants to keep the progress of the film under wraps at present. He said he would announce details of Anji to the media with a bang, once the film is ready for the release. Till then we got to wait, patiently!

Chinni Krishna's story for NTR Samba
Chinni Krishna - the hotshot storywriter - is penning story for NTR's film 'Samba' to be produced by Kodali Naani in the direction of VV Vinayak. This film would have its muhurat on 28th of May, which happens to be the birthday of legend NTR. This film is expected to be a love story. VV Vinayak proved himself as a good director for love movies with his latest hit 'Dil'. The regular shooting of this film would start once VV Vinayak completes the shooting of Chiranjeevi's 'Tagore'.

Nijam in the first half of May 2003
The talkie part of the film Nijam is completed. Two more songs need to be canned. One song would be shot on Mahesh Babu and Rakshita in a bus. Another song would be shot in a temple at Chennai on the main star cast of the film. Audiocassette of the film would hit the market on 14th of this month. The expected units for the first batch are 10 lakhs, which is an unique and unparallel record. Teja is taking the onus of dialogues, story, screenplay, production and direction for this film. Telugu pride song in Seetayya
Dr. C Narayana Reddy wrote a beautiful patriotic Telugu song that goes like 'Telugu Jaati Manadi .. Ninduga Velugu Jaati Manadi …' which was pictured on NTR in 'Talla Pellama' film. Likewise, C Narayana Reddy has written a beautiful patriotic song on Rayalaseema that goes like 'Idigo Rayalaseema Gadda! Katha Telusuko Telugu Bidda!! Pagasega lodduraa! Mattini Nammaraa!'. Shooting of this film would be completed by 25th of this month. Rerecording of the film starts from 5th May 2003 and this film would be releasing on 28th May 2003. The cast of the film includes Hari Krishna, Soundarya, Simran, Brahmanandam, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, MS Narayana, Satya Prakash, Ravi Kanth, Suneeta Varma, Vindhya, M Balayya, Kantha Rao, Ahuti Prasad, Nalini, Subhashini, Rama Prabha, Kalpana Rai, Haritha, Jhansi, Mamatha. This film is produced by the dynamic director YVS Chowdary. Keeravani composed the music.

Allari Naresh as Rambabu
Allari Naresh is going to act in a new film titled 'Rambabugadi Pellam'. This film is about a bank employee Rambabu and how his life got affected after marriage. There are three heroines in this film. Gajala and Santhi Rao are finalized as two of the heroines. K Rajendra, who directed a film titled 'Dabbu Bhale Jabbu' with Allu Arvind is going to direct this film. Ravi Raja Pinisetty presents this film. J Ramana Murthy and K Bala Tripura Sundari are jointly producing 'Rambabugadi Pellam'. VV Vinayak clapped on Naresh for the first shot. This film would go to regular shooting from 15th of this month.

Seetayya on NTR's birthday
Seetayya which had muhurat on the birthday of hero Hari Krishna is expected to release on 28th of May, which happens to be the birthday of legend NTR. Audio of Seetayya is expected on 28th of April 2003. This film sports Hari Krishna in a police inspector get up. It has heavy star cast. Simran and Soundarya are paired with Hari Krishna in this film. Dynamic director YVS Chowdary - fresh from the success of Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo - is directing this film.

Hari Krishna to switch on NTR's film
Hari Krishna and Bhuma Nagireddy are added to the guest list to the muhurat function of NTR's Andhrawala in the direction of Puri Jagannath. Chiranjeevi would clap on NTR. Hari Krishna switches on the camera. It is the first time for Hari Krishna to attend the muhurat shot of any of NTR's films so far.

Puri Jagannath to direct Uday Kiran
Puri Jagannath is fixed as the director for Anjana Productions banner film with Uday Kiran as hero. Uday Kiran is currently working for Suresh Productions venture in the direction of debutant Raja Sekhar. Naga Babu, who produced films with Chiranjeevi so far is producing this film with a hero who is not a family member for the first time. Anjana Production is on film producing jaunt with a film each with Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Uday Kiran.

2 formats for Nijam audio
As per the official sources, the audio of Nijam is expected to hit the market on 14th of April 2003. This audio would have two releases. The first release would be on 14th of April with 8 songs in it. The second release would be there after Nijam's movie release, Teja is planning to release Nijam cassette again with 16 songs in it. Most of the bit songs and padyaalu are expected to be of good listening value after watching the film. This is also seen as a strategy to make the movie lovers buy the same cassette for the second time for extra songs.

Ravi Teja's Dongodu started
Regular shooting of Ravi Teja's 'Dongodu' started on 5th of this month in Manduva house at Annapurna studios. Ravi Teja, Nazneen Ghani and Rekha are playing mainleads. This film would be completed in a single schedule for 60 days. While the outdoor scenes are being canned in Rajahmundry and Pollachi, the scenes requiring house shots are being taken in Hyderabad. This film would have complete village atmosphere and nativity. Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao is directing and producing this Malayalam remake film 'Meesa Madhavan' in Telugu on Good Will cinema banner.

Johnny's 1st copy on 20th April
Allu Arvind - the producer of Pawan Kalyan's Johnny - has revealed some official news for the first time in a press meet held by Anjana Productions on the morning of 7th April 2003. He said that the shooting of Johnny is completed and the first copy is expected on 20th of April. The audio of Johnny created a sensation by getting 6 lakhs of units sold on the day one. A second batch of 3 lacks audiocassettes was sent to the market. The film would go for censoring as soon as the first copy came out. Since Johnny is going to be released with maximum number of prints, the lab's (Ramanaidu labs) capacity needs to be considered before finalizing the release date. Allu Arvind categorically said that Johnny would be released any day after 21st of this month.

Chiranjeevi - VN Aditya film from 7th April
The regular shooting of Chiranjeevi's film in the direction of VN Aditya is expected to start from 7th of this month. Chiranjeevi's brother Naga Babu is producing this film on Anjana banner. Incidentally, VN Aditya worked as an associate director for Anjana Productions latest film 'Bavagaru Bagunnara!' This film is going to be a remake of Mohan Lal's successful Malayalam comedy flick 'Mr. Brahmachari'. Paruchuri brothers are penning dialogues. Arti Agarwal and Sonali Bendre (the Indra combination) are signed up to play opposite Chiranjeevi. Mani Sharma provides music.

Teja on 2 lettered titles spree
'Paata' (song) is latest title from the stable of Teja. Teja who is habituated for the 2 lettered titles has made films like Chitram and Jayam in the past. He is currently doing Nijam. He has another film titled 'Dhairyam' with Nitin as hero. He also has a titled called 'Zero' registered on his banner. He recently announced a project titled 'Rathu' with a mega hero in the main lead. This film 'Paata' is expected to be a musical saga. 'Nuvvu Nenu' and 'Family Circus' are the films of Teja that does not have 2 lettered titles.

S Ramesh Babu on remake spree
Singanamala Ramesh Babu - a film financier and also the son of a famous financier Satyarama Murthy - seems to believe in making remakes. He presented a film titled 'Juniors' which was remade from a Tamil flick. He is going to produce the Tamil remake of Ajith's starrer 'Villain' in Telugu with Raja Sekhar as hero. KS Ravi Kumar who also directed the Tamil original would direct this film. This film would go to floors on 16th of April. He is also producing the Telugu remake of 'Dhool' with Ravi Teja and Reema Sen in main leads in the direction of Ravi Raja Panisetty. KS Rama Rao presents this film.

'The making of Nijam' on MAA
The crew of MAA TV is canning 'The making of Nijam' simultaneously while the shooting of Nijam is going on. This program would be telecasted in MAA TV as 'The making of Nijam' through a series of 30-minute episodes. Even the first audio trailer of Nijam with 'Chandamama' song was exclusively aired on MAA TV only (by omitting other TV channels like Gemini, Teja, E tv etc).

Continuous releases
We now have one film releasing each day from 2nd April to 5th April 2003. On 2nd April, Hari Villu (an art film by B Narsing Rao) was released. Today (3rd April), another small straight film 'Karthik' got released. Tomorrow, AM Ratnam's dubbed film Run (Madhavan & Meera Jasmin) is releasing. On 5th April (Saturday), Nitin's second film 'Dil;' (Neha - VV Vinayak) is releasing.

Poster designers as directors
As per the latest buzz, two of leading poster designers in Hyderabad are going to start their new career as directors in this year. Ramesh Varma (Kiran Poster Ads) and Suresh Bujji (Suresh Bujji Poster Ads) are going start their new career as directors in this year. In Tamil cinema field, directors like Bharatan and Khadir (Premadesam fame) came from the poster designing background. We wish all the best to our own Telugu poster designers and hope they emulate their Tamil counterparts.

Telugu Dhool details
Sinagamala Ramesh Babu - a noted film financier - is going to produce the Telugu remake of Tamil hit film 'Dhool' soon. KS Rama Rao (of Creative Commercials) would present this film. Ravi Teja and Reema Sen are doing main leads. Selection of another heroine is pending. Chakri would provide music. Ravi Raja Pinisetty would direct this remake film. More details later!

Aiswarya Rai injured
Hindi actress Aiswarya Rai was injured today (2nd April 2003) when a jeep skidded over her at Trimbakeshwar, about 25km from Nashik, where she is shooting for a film. The accident occurred around 5:45 pm when she was watching a rehearsal of a scene along with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar during the shooting of Raj Kumar Santoshi's film Khaki. She was immediately hospitalized and she is stable now.

Chiranjeevi in another remake
Looks like Chiranjeevi has set his eyes right on the remakes now. Currently Chiranjeevi is doing the remake of Tamil 'Ramana' in Telugu as 'Tagore' in the direction of VV Vinayak. Chiranjeevi's next venture is going to be a laugh riot that is going to be remade from a Malayalam film 'Mister Brahmachari' featuring Mohan Lal as hero. VN Aditya would direct the Telugu version. Paruchuri brothers are penning dialogues. Naga Babu is going to produce this film on Anjana productions banner. Muhurat of this film would happen on 11th of April 2003.

Balayya about Nandi award
Balayya, at the Nandi award function on 1st April 2003, said that he is a great devotee of Lord Narasimha Swamy and that it was a coincidental opportunity for him to don the role that was named after Lord Narasimha Swamy. He also felt that Lord Narasimha Swamy came to Balayya in the form of Chinni Krishna and narrated the story of Narasimha Naidu. When Balayya delivered this sentence, Chinni Krishna became emotional and wept his heart out. Balayya once again emphasized that public appreciation is more precious to him than any award (prajala aadaraNe naaku padivelu)
