Okkadu function held in UK
Okkadu - the first blockbuster of the year and also the biggest blockbuster in the career of prince Mahesh Babu - celebrated its silver jubilee function in Birmingham, UK on 27th September 2003 on the eve of 10th Anniversary of ETA (European Telugu Association). Telugu film celebrities like Tarun, Bhumika Chawla and MS Raju graced the occasion.

Anji special effects in 3 countries
M Shyam Prasad Reddy is shuttling between UK, USA and Canada to complete the visual effects work of Anji - his magnum opus with Chiranjeevi and Namrata in main leads. He is on the cloud nine because his film Anji would be coming after two stupendous continuous hits of Chiranjeevi - Indra and Tagore. The openings and business of this film is expected to touch new heights when its released on 14th of January 2003.

Sunil injured and is safe
Comedy artist Sunil was slightly injured when his car met with accident today morning. He was returning from Narkedpally to Hyderabad today morning when his car (the Land Cruiser borrowed from Hero Srikanth) lost control over the speed and land cruiser somersaulted. Actor Sunil and driver Sunil fastened their seat belts and it helped. Both of them injured slightly. First aid was done and they were admitted in Yasodha Hospital at Somajiguda. Sunil is expected to be discharged from the hospital by today evening and tomorrow morning. Lets wish Sunil a fast recovery.

Venky as powerful cop
Siva Raju and Venkat Raju of Geetachitra International banner are remaking a Tamil film titled 'Kaakha Kaakha' in Telugu with Venkatesh playing the role of powerful cop. Gowtam who directed the Tamil version is expected to direct the Telugu version as well. Kalaipuli Das - who produced the Tamil version - would present the Telugu version. More details later.

Simhadri 100 days function in Kurnool
The 100 days public function of NTR's blockbuster Simhadri would be held in Kulnool on 19th of October. This film is all set to create all time record in number of 100 days centers.

Its Puri Jagan's birthday today
28th September is the birthday of Puri Jagan. He is undeniably the most happening director of Telugu film industry today. He made his debut with a bang through 'Badri' film. However he was overshadowed by the towering persona of Pawan Kalyan. When his second film 'Bachi' became a blooper, the trade pundits written off Puri Jagan as a flash in the pan. He took a break and came back strongly with a triple punch - Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot and Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai. He made Ravi Teja a star to reckon with in Telugu cinema industry. Debutant hero Manchu Vishnu Vardhan Babu visited NTR Ghat on 27th September 2003 to pay tributes to legend NTR. Vishnu described NTR Ghat as a temple for all the actors. Vishnu's debut film 'Vishnu' is hitting marquee on 28th of September. There is tremendous positive report on this film.

Raja Sekhar buys remake rights of a Tamil film
Raja Sekhar who missed the chance of acting the remake of Tamil blockbuster Ramana (which was later remade in to Telugu as Tagore) by a whisker, has paid a huge amount for the remake rights of a Tamil film 'Anjaneyam' under production starring Ajith and Meera Jasmin. This film would be remade in Telugu on Siva Sivani Movies banner, which is the home banner of Raja Sekhar. This film would go to floors for Diwali 2003. Other details of cast and crew are awaited.

Just Yellow Media Pvt Limited that has given a path breaking hit film 'Aithe' as their debut venture is all set to launch two more films very soon. The story discussions are currently going on. Their second film and third film would go to floors in December 2003 and February 2004 respectively.

Anchor Swati turns heroine
Hotshot teen anchor Swati who made a sensation with her debut in small screen with 'colors' program is now making her debut as full length heroine in a film that is being produced by AM Rathnam. This film is titled as 'Naakoka Girl Friend Kaavali' and it has Ravi Krishna - son of AM Ratnam - in the main lead. Selva Raghavan is directing this flick.

Directors protest misuse of their names
Krishna Vamsi, Teja, SV Krishna Reddy, Sana Yadireddy and Tammareddy Bharadwaja said that a few acting schools have been misusing their names and exploiting men and women who come to their institute to learn acting. There are few institutes on Teja and Krishna Vamsi's name which were not related to these directors at all. These directors cautioned the youngsters not to get cheated by these kinds of institutes.

Andhrawala audio release in Nimmakur
Director Puri Jagan is planning to host the audio release function of Andhrawala film in Nimmakur, the home town of legend NTR. Special trains would be organized from the nook and corners of Andhra Pradesh to Nimmakur on the day. Producer and director Puri are also going to have a weekly lottery scheme for the visitors who dawn on Nimmakur that day. NTR's Andhrawala movie is expected to release on 9th January 2003.

Vishnu got censored
Manchu Vishnu Vardhan Babu's launch vehicle Vishnu got censored on 24th of September 2003. The censor board members have given very good report on this film. Shazi Kailas is directing his straight Telugu film for the first time. Ismail Durbar of 'Devdas' fame has scored music. This film is hitting the marquee on 28th of this month.

Chantigadu audio on 27th Sep.
The audio of Superhit friends banner film 'Chantigadu' is releasing on 27th of this month. The shooting part of this film is completed by 23rd September. Dubbing is over. Rerecording is going on by Vandemataram Srinivas. He scored 7 songs for this film. Debutant director Jaya said that this film is going to be a nonstop musical youth entertainer for 2 and half hours.

Anji confirmed on 14th Jan 2004
Speaking to idlebrain.com at the 100 days function of Aithe at Viceroy hotel on the night of 20th September 2003, producer Shyam Prasad Reddy officially confirmed 14th January 2004 as the release date of his magnum opus Anji. He also said that this is the first official confirmation to press (through idlebrain.com). The audio of this film is expected to be released around 20th November so that there is an ample gap of 45 days between the audio and movie release. Stay tuned with idlebrain.com for much more interesting stuff about Anji starring Chiranjeevi and Namrata Sirodkar.

Sports backdrop for Rajamouli - Nitin film
It is reliably learnt that the Nitin's film in the direction of Raja Mouli would be having a sports backdrop. Nitin is expected to undergo training in certain sports for a month. This film would go to floors in the month of November. Giri would be producing this film. Raja Mouli - fresh from the record creating blockbuster Simhadri - is the cynosure of Telugu film industry today.

Katrina disassociates herself from Boom
Katrina Kaif while speaking to idlebrain.com said that she had disassociated herself from her debut Hindi flick 'Boom' which was released on 19th September 2003. She said that she signed that project by looking at the producer and the huge star cast. Once the shooting was started, she was more utilized more like a set property than as an actress. She is making her debut in Telugu as the coveted princess through Malliswari film that stars Venkatesh. This film is being directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar and produced by D Suresh Babu.

Superb publicity for Tagore
Producer B Madhu is carrying out excellent publicity for Tagore film all over the state. The posters and vinyl hoardings are omnipresent in Hyderabad. A new trend in publicity is started by Tagore film in which rotating lighting boards were installed on the banjara hills. These rotating lighting boxes have 4 posters each and they rotate continuously with lighting in the night and without light in the day. These boxes caught the fancy of passers on Banjara Hills Road. Tagore is all set for an international release on 24th of September with 230 prints in more than 325 theaters.

Vishnu on Alludu Garu's release day
In a press meet held today, producer Mohan Babu said that Silpa Sivanand had approached him through Dasari Narayana Rao for a truce. Both of them withdrew cases filed against each other in judicial courts. The shooting of the last song 'Ravoyi Chandamama' was completed today. This film is all set for the release on 28th of September, which happens to be the Sunday. Mohan Babu said that his film 'Alludu Garu' was released on 28th of September and it went on to become a blockbuster. With that sentiment Mohan Babu is releasing his son Vishnu's launch pad on 28th September. Mohan Babu is releasing this film all over AP (except for Krishna area) on his own through Suresh Movie distributors. Aswini Dutt (Vyjayanthi movies) bought the rights for Krishna area by offering a fancy price.

Audio cassette for Rs 9.99/- only
In the year 1999, we saw Nagarjuna pricing the audio of Annapurna Studio's film 'Prema Katha' at a rock bottom price of Rs 15/-. By taking it as an example, all other audio cassettes were priced at Rs 19/-. However, the prices went on sky rocketing and now a cassette for the audio of any popular film is priced for Rs 40/-. Now the producer of 'Mee Intikoste Em istaru. Maa Intikoste em Testaru' has decided to fix the price of the audio album for a mere Rs 9.99/-. Ghantadi Krishna provides music. Mayuri cinema halls
Ramoji Rao - the man behind the biggest business empire in AP - is spreading his presence in movie halls in a big way. Usha Kiron movies has acquired Ram Lakhan theater a couple of years back, renovated it and renamed it as 'Sri mayuri' in Hyderabad. Recently they constructed a new theater in Ongole city called 'Saroj Mayuri' and it's opening film was Seetayya. Usha Kiran acquired 'Subhas Theater' in RTC cross roads and renovated to christen it as 'Usha Mayuri'. Kalyan Ram's debut vehicle 'Toli Choopulone' is going be released in the same theater. It is also learnt that Usha Kiron movies is spreading it's Mayuri theater base all over Andhra Padesh so that it would be forerunner when centralized digital screening system is introduced in AP.

Seetayya Vijaya Yatra details
YVS Chowdary is going for Vijaya Yatra of Seetayya all over Andhra Pradesh from 21st of this month to 30th. They would be touring Kurnool, Nandyal, Cudappah and Proddutur on 21st. All the cast and crew members of the film including Hari Krishna Nandamuri would be present in this tour.

Balayya's film in Vijayawada - details
Balayya is currently in Vijayawada shooting a few important scenes of his forthcoming film in the direction of Jayant C Paranji. They have recently picturised a fight in Anupama bar at Gandhi Nagar. They also canned a marriage sequence at Rice Mill Kalyana Mandapam near Sailaja theater (Gandhi Nagar). The cast and crew members are staying at Ilapuram hotel as Bala Krishna is staying in his guest house. The shooting is expected to continue till this month end. From 1st October onwards Bala Krishna would be shifting to Chalakudi forests to shoot for Konda Krishnam Raju's film.

Tolichoopulone audio on 18th Sep.
Audio of Kalyan Ram Nandamuri's debut film 'Tolichoopulone' (photo gallery) would be released officially by Mayuri audio on the evening of 18th September 2003 at Subhash Theater in Musheerabad. Chakri scored the music. Kasi Viswanath directed this film. This film is expected to release in the first half of October 2003. Akanksha is paired up with Kalyan Ram in this film. Sarada is making re-entry in this film after a gap of few years.

Shilpa is back in Vishnu
Actress Shilpa Sivanand is back in Vishnu (photo gallery) film. She is currently shooting for the 'Ravoyi Chandamama' song (which was inspired by the song from yesteryear's classic Missamma) along with Manchu Vishnu Vardhan Babu. Tagore with 230 prints
Stage is set for Chiranjeevi's film Tagore which is going to be released with an unprecedented craze with highest number of prints (230) on 24th of September 2003. Tamil film industry's heartthrob Jyothika is making her debut in Telugu films with Tagore. Sensuous heroine Shriya is paired up with Chiranjeevi for the first time. VV Vinayak is directing this film. The last leg of the shoot was done on 13th September in Annapurna 7 acres where the patch work for the scene in which hero was presented to the court was shot. B Madhu is producing this film on Leo Projects banner.

15 crore project with Pawan Kalyan
The estimated budget for the Aswini Dutt's flick to be made on Vyjayanthi banner with Pawan Kalyan as hero is 15 crores. This film would be having the backdrop of Goa and New Delhi. Karunakaran would direct this film. IDBI (Industrial Development Bank of India) is financing this film to the tune of 5 crores. Mani Sharma has already scored a couple of tunes for this flick.

Sukumar to direct Allu Arjun
Allu Arjun's second venture is going to be directed by a debutant director Sukumar. Sukumar worked with several Editor Mohan's projects like 'Manasichi Choodu' and 'Kshememga Velli Labhamga Randi'. He worked as an assistant director for the film 'Dil'. He also coordinated the dialogues department for Dil film. As per the latest buzz from Chennai, Rajnikanth is said to have accepted a film titled 'Ayya' to be directed by Hari, who directed the latest Tamil blockbuster Saami starring Vikram. Ruthika - the temptress of '6 teens' film - did an item song for Sravanthi Art movies film 'Ela Cheppanu'. She acted as a mumbai dancer for a marwadi marriage in this film. She danced with Tarun and Sunil for the 'Rangula Taaraka' song in the dance direction of Raju Sundaram. This song comes as the first song in the film. Kalyan Ram - the son of actor Nandamuri Hari Krishna - is making his debut with a film that is being produced by Usha Kiron Movies in the direction of Kaasi Viswanath. This film is titled as 'Toli Choopulone'. Incidentally 'Toli Choopulone' is the starting lyric of a song picturised on legend NTR and Sarada for the film. Justice Chowdary. The same song is also picturised on Bala Krishna and Radha for 'Nippulanti Manishi' film. This film would be hitting the marquee in the month of October 2003.

Audio of Vijay's (the Vara Prasad aka VP from Ammailu Abbailu') film 'Back Pocket' was released in country club on 12th September 2003. Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Relangi Narasimha Rao, Pradeep, Siva Krishna and Suresh Kondeti released a song each. The music is scored by Juvvadi. Sony Raj is the actress in this film that is being produced by Bhargava on Navata Innovatives banner in the direction of Beecharaju Sridhar.

Muppalanenu Siva - who directed films like Raja, Ammai Kosam and Sandade Sandadi in the past - is directing a film titled 'Dost' starring Siva, Karthik, Neha and Preethi Mehra. Trivikram Srinivas seems to have spun magic on Nandi award jury members for this year. Four out of the 5 best films awarded Nandi has the contribution of Trivikram in terms of story and dialogues. Trivikram provided story and dialogues for Manmadhudu (1st best film), Nuvve Nuvve (2nd best film) and Vasu (best film for home viewing). Trivikram contributed few vital dialogues for Santosham (3rd best film) as well. Trivikram Srinivas is currently providing story and dialogues for Malliswari starring Venkatesh and Katrina Kaif. He is going to direct Mahesh Babu in the next year.

Tagore and Shivamani on the same date
Chiranjeevi's Tagore is expected to release on 24th of September. Nagarjuna's Shivamani is tentatively slated for 24th October release. Incidentally Chiranjeevi's latest blockbuster Indra was also released on 24th. Need to see if 24 is going to turn lucky for Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna this time.

Roja gives birth to baby girl
Actress Roja gave birth to a baby girl on 10th September 2003 at a private hospital in Chennai. Roja acted in more than 100 films in Telugu and Tamil languages. She got married to Tamil film director Selvamani last year in Tirupati.

Seetayya's 25 days in 160 centers
As per the latest trailer aired on local TV channels, Hari Krishna's Seetayya is heading for 25 days in 160 centers. Seetayya would be completing 3rd week by today. We need to wait and see how many centers would Seetayya run for 50 days.

Chiranjeevi's ode to blind students
Chiranjeevi felt helpless when a few blind students came to meet Chiranjeevi who was in Tirupati for the shoot of 'Tagore'. He could not meet them due to exceptional turnout of local crowds. After returning to Hyderabad, Chiranjeevi has invited 18 blind students from Tirupati by offering the to-and-fro conveyance and accommodation in Hyderabad. Those 18 students spent their day with Chiranjeevi yesterday during the shooting 'Manmadha Manmadha' song in Annapurna studios. Chiranjeevi felt happy with the affection shown by the students. He even gave them his autograph in braille language.

Vizag Mayor wins over 15% share
Andhra Cricket Association met Mayor Rajana Ramani and held discussions for 2 hours before agreeing to share 15% of the profits earned through the cine-cricket star match that is going to be held on 7th of September at Vizag cricket stadium. Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Srikanth and Tarun are going to play in this match. Sachin Tendulkar would play under Chiranjeevi's captaincy.

Vizag Mayor differs on star cricket
Rajana Ramani - the mayor of Visakhapatnam city - claimed that the decision taken by the municipal commissioner to conduct a cine-cricket star cricket match in Vizag is a unilateral decision that is taken without consulting her. She said that 15% of the profits made from that cricket match should go to the local charitable trusts like Prema Samajam, Mother Teresa Oldage Home and Papa in stead of donating the money to out side charitable trusts like Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust and Rama Naidu Blood Bank. She said that she would not permit the match to happen in Vizag if the 15% of profits were not shared with the local charitable trusts.

Tamil 'Aadi' with Prasanth
Tamil star Prasanth is playing the title role of 'Jai' in Tamil which is based on Telugu blockbuster 'Aadi' starring on NTR. Anshu is playing the heroine. This Tamil version is having the Madhurai's backdrop. Madhesh, who directed 'Chocolate' with Prasanth earlier, is directing this film. Second schedule of this film is currently going on in Nanak Ram Guda in Hyderabad.

Uday Kiran in C Kalyan's film
Uday Kiran is going to act in a film to be directed by N Shankar of 'Sri Ramulayya' fame. C Kalyan would be producing this film. This film is basically a love story. Chiranjeevi's Tagore would be released simultaneously in 7 countries all over the world. KAD - USA is planning to release Tagore in USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai. This film would release on the same day in USA along with its Indian release. But for other countries, it may be released a few days later because film has to be re-censored in the rest of the countries. This kind of multi-continental release is first time for any Telugu cinema.

Allu Arjun gets glamorous
For all those people who keep nagging about the looks of Allu Arjun, here is good news. Allu Arjun is shining like a pearl when we saw him in the audio release function of 'Okariki Okaru' tonight at Taj Banjara hotel. He was one of the guests at the function along with NTR. Searching for Subba Lakshmi seems to be the gist of 'Okariki Okaru' film. There is one song written by Chandra Bose that describes hero's desperation to search for Subba Lakshmi. MM Keeravani said that lots of people were requesting him to recreate the magic he has done for 'Kshnakshnam' film. Keeravani said that he tried to do music of 'Okariki Okaru' in the same genre and now it is music lovers turn to say if it is as good as Kshnakshnam or not.

Katrina Kaif back in Malliswari
After much dillydallying Bollywood's most happening newcomer Katrina Kaif started shooting for Malliswari. The second schedule of 'Malliswari' started today in Vizag city and few scenes were canned on Venkatesh and Katrina Kaif. Katrina is playing the role of coveted princess in this film.

3 audio functions in one night
Looks like 1st of September is the auspicious day for the audio makers. Three audio functions are going to take place tonight in Tollywood. The 1st function is going to be the audio release function of 'Okariki Okaru' (Anandi Arts film starring Sreeram & Arti Chabria). The second one is the audio function of 'Kaasi' (starring JD Chakri and Keerthi Chawla). The 3rd function is the triple platinum disk function of 'Pellamtho Panenti?'.
