Balu audio on 29th November
Audio of Pawan Kalyan's next film Balu (ABCDEFG) would be released on 29th of November 2004. Aditya music grabbed the audio rights of this film. Shriya and Neha Oberai do the female leads in this film. Kona Venkat pens dialogues. Mani Sharma provides music. Karunakaran of Toliprema fame directs this film. C Aswini Dutt produces Balu (ABCDEFG) on Vyjayanthi banner. This film is all set for 6th January 2005 release on the eve of Sankranthi.

Animation video for Superstar's remix
A fan of Superstar Krishna would be producing a remix album of Superstar Krishna. This album features superstar's songs like Aggipulla Bhaggumannadi, Deerideeri etc. For the first time in South India an animation video song is being done on an artist. An animation song on the backdrop of beach is being produced with Superstar Krishna being an animated character for the song 'Aggipulla bhaggu mannadi'. Incidentally it is the 2nd animation song in India that features any actor.

Kona Venkat joins the big league
Kona Venkat - a Ram Gopal Varma's protégé - started his career as dialogue writer and screenplay wright in Ram Gopal Varma's films. He got a break through NTR's Samba. Now he is working on a film each with Chiranjeevi (Geeta Arts latest film) and Pawan Kalyan (Balu - ABCDEFG). Kona Venkat is doing his work very selectively by choosing limited projects.

Pawan Kalyan as Balu
Pawan Kalyan's latest film by Vyjayanthi Movies is titled as 'Balu' (with a tagline 'ABCDEFG'). This caption ABCDEF stands for 'A Boy Can Do Everything For Girl'. This film is being directed by Karunakaran, who made a trendsetting film 'Toliprema' with Pawan Kalyan as hero. It may be learnt that Pawan Kalyan's character name in Toliprema is also Balu. Mani Sharma is scoring music. Shriya and Neha Oberai are doing the roles of female leads. This film has heavy star cast including lots of big names from Mumbai (Gulshan Grover, Milind Gunaji & Saurabh Shukla). This film was also extensively shot in Delhi and Agra. A special set was erected near Taj Mahal for Balu. Another set (Old City) worth 90 lakhs was constructed for Balu in Ramoji Film City. This film is all set to release on 6th January 2005.

Surprise song in Vijayendra Varma
A power-packed patriotic song that comes as lead to climax is going to surprise sensational song in Vijayendra Varma film. This song was not included in the audiocassettes of Vijayendra Varma to keep the expectations low. Bala Krishna would appear in four powerful get-ups in this song. Konda Krishnam Raju said that Koti has come up with terrific re-recording for Vijayendra Varma. The unit visited Swiss recently to can a couple of outdoor songs. Konda Krishnam Raju produced this film and Swarna Subba Rao directed it. Vijayendra Varma is expected to release either in the last week of November or 1st week of December 2004.

Naveen bags another film
Vadde Naveen has signed another film titled 'Naa Voopiri'. This film would be produced by Siva Prasad and Murugan on Brahma creations banner. Kanamani would direct this flick. Deepak Devan would compose music. This film is expected to go to floors in the month of December.

The Raghupati Venkayya award for the year 2003 is awarded to famous producer VB Rajendra Prasad who produced several golden oldies on Jagapati banner. VB Rajendra Prasad is the 23rd celebrity to be awarded this prestigious award. VB Rajendra Prasad's son Jagapati Babu is an established actor in Telugu. This award would be presented on 6th November 2004.

Sekhar Kammula flooded with offers
Nobody believed him when he tried narrating the script of Anand before making that film. But after Anand's release and its subsequent surprise success, the producers are giving him open offers. As per the latest buzz in Telugu film industry, around 18 producers offered to make a film in Sekhar Kammula's direction. A few of the names in that list include Aswini Dutt, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, NV Prasad and Konda Krishnam Raju.

Allu Arjun film - 3.06 crores in Ceded
Allu Arjun's latest film in the direction of VV Vinayak is doing great pre-release business. This film was sold for 3.06 crores for Ceded area. Famous film financier Mallikharjun started a distribution agency called Asha distributors and would be distributing this film. This week would be having the releases of two straight Telugu films. These films are Apparao Driving School and Swarabhishekam. Swarabhishekam (K Viswanath - Srikanth, Laya, Sivaji & Amukta Malyada) is releasing on 5th November 2004. K Viswanath directed a film after a huge gap of 9 years.

Anand in USA from 5th Nov
Surprise hit of the year Anand's USA rights were sold recently (a banner was also kept on idlebrain.com for seeking potential buyers of theatrical and DVD rights in USA). This film is releasing in USA with 2 prints on 5th November 2004 in San Jose (imc6) Dallas (Everest theaters).

Baba song in Swades
AR Rehman has reused his own composition of 'Baba Neeku Mokkuta' from Baba film in his latest Hindi album Swades starring Sharukh Khan. This song is 'Dekho Naa'. SP Bala Subramanyam and Sadhana Sargam rendered the Telugu version where Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan rendered the Hindi version.

Telugu girl directs Hollywood flick
Deepika Daggubati - a Telugu NRI girl - is going to direct a Hollywood film titled 'Odd Girl Out'. This film would go to floors in the month of November 2004 and is expected to be released in the year of 2005. She recently directed a short film titled Potosi Road (with a tagline: Same Route. Star Cricket in February 2005
Telugu film stars are going to join their hands together to play cricket and have fun for a day in February 2005. This star cricket would be in the lines of Star Cricket that was conducted in 2003 by MAA. 2003 star cricket was played to raise money to support the needy artists in Movie Artists Association. This time MAA would organize this match to protest video piracy with a tagline: Kill Piracy and Save Industry. Rhythm Media is expected to be the event managers for this program. MAA TV is expected to live telecast this match.

Film Industry meets CM
Telugu film industry held a bandh to film shoots on 29th October 2004 to protest against piracy. The entire film industry walked from Press Club to Lakeview Guest House to meet CM and give a memorandum about rampant video piracy in AP. Gemini Film Circuit announced a grand prize of Rs. 15,000/- on each FIR (First Information Report in Police Stations) filed on VCD shop owners who are selling pirated VCDs of Shankardada MBBS. Suresh (Kurnool) and Nagaraju (Bellary) received Rs 15000/ each from Chiranjeevi today for bringing down the pirates of Shankar Dada MBBS to the book from Kurnool and Bellary respectively.

Krishna Vamsi to make Pourudu
Krishna Vamsi's next project would star Ravi Teja and is tentatively titled as 'Pourudu'. This film is expected to be produced by RPG films banner. Popular TV anchor Udaya Bhanu recently got married to his love Vijay and told a tear jerking flashback in a press meet about how her mother exploited her for monitory gains. Udaya Bhanu lost her father at the age of 4. Her mother married a muslim man who already had 7 children. At the age of 15, Udaya Bhanu was forcibly married to a Muslim man. Recently she constructed an independent house at Miyapur that has all lifestyle amenities like swimming pool etc. Even that house was registered on her mother's name. Udaya Bhanu never utilized the money she earned as she was forced by her mother to sign on blank cheques. Udaya Bhanu was in news in the last year for alleged attempt to suicide and another alleged kidnap case. Udaya Bhanu got legally divorced from her 1st husband and willingly married Vijay. The cops are giving protection to Udaya Bhanu.

Anand to add more theaters in city
National award winner Sekhar Kammula's latest film 'Anand' is going great guns. Sekhar Kammula has sold the exhibition rights of Anand for entire AP except for Hyderabad city, which he retained for himself. This film is currently running in 3 theaters now and it would add 4 more theaters in the next week. The number of shows in Prasads would be increased from 1 show to 3 shows next week. On public demand from Osmania University (alma mater of director Sekhar Kammula), this film is releasing in Aradhana theater next week. This film would also be released in Hitech (Madapur), Sri Sairam (Malkajgiri) and Viswanath (KPHB). In the main theater Usha Mayuri (Hyderabad) itself, this film is expected to collect a share of 20 lakhs in total run, as per Mayuri Film distributors.

Yuvasena - a 2 hour film
Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's Yuvasena would be having duration of 2 hour and 3 minutes. Sravanthi Ravi Kishore has retained copyrights of Yuvasena audio scored by Jassie Gift and distributed it using the network of Sohan Music. 3 times national award winning director Jayaraaj directed this film which is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster '4 the people'.

Gauri Pandit in Gopichand film

Film journalist Bommakanti (45) expired recently due to cardiac arrest. He started his career with Sitara film magazine and later on worked in lots of film publication houses. AP Film Critics association expressed its condolences to the untimely death of Bommakanti. May his soul rest in peace.

Swarabhishekam audio released
Singer S P Balasubramanyam released the Swarabhishekam cassette in Vijayawada on Thursday evening at GVR Government Music College. The music of this film is scored by Vidyasagar and contains 7 songs penned by Veturi and Sirivennala. "This film is a based on music and dance and all the songs came out really well," said K Viswanath director of the film. Classical dancers performed for three songs from the film. With hero Srikanth and heroine Laya in the lead roles, Swarabhishekam is slated for a release in the month of November. Director K Viswanath couple, lyricist Veturi couple and SP were felicitated by lyricist Sirivennala and other fans. Sirivennala lauded the efforts of K Viswanath in making the films with rich music and literary values and urged the producers and directors to make films youth-oriented, yet with some social message. In the same venue, 25 years of Sankarabharanam silver jubilee was also celebrated amidst fanfare.

Anand Premiere on 14th October
National award winning director Sekhar Kammula's film Anand would be premiered on the night of 14th October 2004 in the presence of cast and crewmembers along with who's who in the Telugu film industry at 8:30 pm at Prasads multiplex. The ticket is being priced at Rs. 250/- and the proceedings of this show would go to the 'Naandi foundation' (supported by Reddy labs). This film obtained clean U certificate by censor board.

Reddy Hanumantha Rao about his Nandi
Redddy Hanumantha Rao - journalist from Vaartha newspaper - has become the youngest film critic to have won Nandi's best film critic award. He thanks Girish Sanghi (Vaartha MD) and his friends for encouraging him in this field. He would like to take this as inspiration and scale new heights in the years to come.

Anand release on 15th Oct
National award winning director Sekhar Kammula's second film 'Anand' with Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the main leads would be releasing on 15th October. Sekhar Kammula is releasing this film on his own phase by phase. The first phase release would be on 15th October in Hyderabad and Vizag cities with 4 prints. The Hyderabad theaters are Prasads, Usha Mayuri and Mahalakshmi (DSNR).

Hero get-ups for Ravi Teja
Popular mass hero Ravi Teja would be enacting the get-ups of legend NTR, ANR, Krishna and Chiranjeevi for a few comedy oriented scenes in the film Chanti (the hero). Those get-ups have come really well. Sobhan is directing this film on Vijaya Bala banner. Krishna Kishore produces it. This film is releasing on 22nd October 2004.

Rajendra Prasad's 'O Bahumati'
After producing films like Uncle and Ori Nee Prema Bangaram kanu, popular comedian turned director AVS would be producing a film titled 'O Bahumati' with Rajendra Prasad as hero. Comedy films director SV Krishna Reddy would direct this film. SV Krishna Reddy started his career as director with two continuous blockbusters - Mayalodu and Rajendrudu Gajendrudu - with Rajendra Prasad as hero.

The unit would start it's Yatra on 6th from Guntur and travel all along the coastal best for 3 days to end the promotional campaign at Vizag on 8th October. Shankardada MBBS first copy on 8th Oct
Speaking to idlebrain.com, director Jayant C Paranji said that the first copy of Chiranjeevi's Shankardada MBBS would be ready on 8th October. This film is all set to release with maximum number of prints all over the world on 15th October. The Karnataka moratorium is expected to end in a couple of days by paving way to the direct release of Shankar Dada MBBS. This film would be released with record number of 35 prints in Vizag area, as per G Kishore - manager of Sri Teja Films. This film would also be releasing with 6 prints in USA in San Jose, New Jersey, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta as per the latest information.

Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's 'Yuva Sena'
The title of Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's latest film is confirmed as 'Yuvasena' with a tagline '4 the people'. This film is the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster '4 The People'. Gopika is playing female lead in this film. There would be 4 male protagonists as well. Jairaj, who directed the original, is directing this film. Audio of this film would be released in the second week of October and the movie would be released in the month of November.
