Rimmi Sen with Chiranjeevi
Bollywood heroine Rimmi Sen (of Hungama and Dhoom fame) is going to be paired up with Chiranjeevi in a film being directed by Seenu Vytla. Tabu is playing another heroine. It may be learnt that Rimmi Sen made her debut in film through Telugu film titled 'Nee Thodu Kavali' in the direction of Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao.

Arti's item song in NTR film
Arti Agarwal is going to sizzle with NTR in an item song for B Gopal's film. This song would be picturized on a moving train from 7th December onwards in Araku valley in the choreography of Kalyan. Amisha Patel and Sameera Reddy are playing heroines in this film. Chengala Venkat Rao produces this film on Sri Satyanarayanamma banner.

Multiple back drops for Balu film
Pawan Kalyan's Balu would be having multiple back drops. The story of first half would take place in North (New Delhi and Agra). The second half would take place in the old city of Hyderabad. An old city set worth 90 lakhs was constructed in Ramoji Film City for this film. Audio of Balu is releasing on 2nd December and the film is releasing on 6th January 2005.

Anjali ILU audio success-meet held
The audio success meet of 'Anjali I Love You' was held today. Vijay group is presenting it. Vikram Prodduturi, Bhagawan, Santosh Pawan and Raja Sridhar are playing male leads. Meera Vasudevan - who made her debut with a Tamil film produced by SP Balu - is playing the female lead. Madhavapeddi Suresh composed soft melodious music for this film. DVR Kalinga directed this film. Saudamini P produces this film on Veena Creations banner. Anjali ILU would hit the marquee in December 2004.

Smita's club mix
Smita, who created the trend of remix culture in Telugu, is coming up with another remix album in the next month. This album would be titled as Club Mix. This remix album would have remixes of songs scored by the music directors like Ilayaraja, AR Rehman and Harris Jayaraj. This album would be released both in Tamil and Telugu languages as the songs chosen were bilingual songs. Incidentally Smita's Club Mix is the first remix album in Tamil. Famous Bollywood choreographer Bosco Ceaser composed the designed the video of this album. The likely date of Club Mix's release is 17th December. Smita is releasing this album on her own music company.

Balu audio on 2nd Dec
The audio of Pawan Kalyan's Jan 2005 release Balu (ABCDEFG) is all set to release on 2nd December in the market through Aditya music. Producer C Aswini Dutt is also planning to release a single-leaf New Year calendar of Balu on the same day. The shooting of this film is almost complete except for a few songs. A song would be shot from 1st December on Pawan Kalyan and Shriya. Balu would have global release on 6th January 2005.

Konda Krishnam Raju opens distribution outlet
Konda Krishnam Raju - the producer of Vijayendra Varma - is opening a distribution office - 'Aditya Movies' - in Vizag. He is releasing Vijayendra Varma in Vizag on his own on 15th December. This office would be inaugurated on 1st of December. Film financier Singanamala Ramesh is the partner of this office.

Bigwigs protest rally in Bangalore
Bigwigs like Amitab Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi are expected to participate in a protest rally to be held in December 2005. The basis for this rally is to protesting of moratorium held on non-Kannada film releases in Karnataka state. Almost all noted celebrities from non-Kannada film fields are expected to make their presence.

Raja Sekhar to direct Gopichand
Choreographer Raja Sekhar joins the list of choreographer-turned-directors Suchitra Chandra Bose, Lawrence and Prabhudeva. Raja Sekhar is expected to direct the next film of Gopichand.

Sai Ram Shankar's second film
Sai Ram Shankar who made his debut as hero with Puri Jagan's 143 would be acting in another film as hero soon. That film would be produced by his brother Puri Jagan. Mehar Ramesh - who directed Kannada version of Andhrawala (Veera Kannadiga) - would be directing this film. As per the buzz, the story of this film demands most of its shooting in abroad.

Dhairyam shooting in Syria & Jordan
Teja - who made all his films with minimal budget and resources so far - is moving out of country to shoot his film Dhaiyam. He shot a song in Mumbai on Nitin and Raima Sen recently. The unit would be traveling to Southwest Asian countries like Syria & Jordan where no Telugu film was shot in the past. This film is being produced by Asian Entertainments banner.

Richa with Rajendra Prasad
Rajendra Prasad seems to be giving comeback chance to the heroines who once were considered hot. After acting with Gurling Chopra (Oka Pellam Muddu, Rendo Pellam Vadddu) and Preeti Jingyani (Apparao Driving School), Rajendra Prasad preferred this time for Richa Pallod (Nuvve Kavali fame). Richa is paired up with Rajendra Prasad in a film titled 'Pellam Pichodu'. Srujana is acting as second heroine. This film is being directed by lyricist Jonnavithula. Shooting of this film was started on 18th November.

Xtra song in Shankardada
Shooting of 6th song in Shankardada MBBS was started in a set erected in Annapurna studios today in the dance direction of a Bollywood choreographer. Chiranjeevi and Sonali Bendre are participating in this song. This song is said to be a fast-paced step-oriented song. Chota K Naidu is handling camera. Ashok handles artwork. There would be 3 sets in this song. This song was scored by Devi Sri Prasad. This song would be added in 2nd half of the film from 50th day (3rd December 2004) of Shankar Dada MBBS. This song is also expected to be added in USA prints.

Mass audio at Taramati-Bhadradri
Audio of Nagarjuna's latest film Mass (Dammunte Kasko) is going to be held at Taramati - Baradri in Golkonda on the night of 25th of November 2004. Taramati - Baradri is the place where all musical related events used to be held during Nizam's rule few centuries back. The sound generated at Taramati - Baradri used to be audible to the entire fort of Golkonda because of its strategic location. Nagarjuna obtained special permission to hold this event at such an historical venue. Devi Sri Prasad scored music. Jyotika and Charmy are heroines. Choreographer Lawrence directing this film. Mass is all set to release on 25th of December worldwide.

Puri Jagan starts Aelay's new office
Director Puri Jagan inaugurated the new office of publicity designer Aelay Dhani on 24th of November. Aelay Dhani has been doing publicity designs of all Puri Jagan's films so far. Aelay Dhani is the younger brother of Aelay Lakshman who got national recognition with his paintings.

Aithe director starts another film
Chandrasekhar Eleti - the director of Aithe film - is currently directing his second film. Jagapati Babu and Charmy are playing main leads. This film is being produced by Gangaraju Gunnam who also produced Aithe film. Shooting of this was started on 18th of this month.

3 films on 26th November
Three films are waiting to be released on 26th November. These films are Kaani, Naalo and Sundarangudu. Kaani is a horror flick starring Sai Kiran. Naalo is a bilingual starring SP Charan (son of SP Balasubramanyam). Sundarangudu is the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil blockbuster Peralagan (Surya & Jyotika).

Sirichitra bags Alludu US rights
NTR - the comedy king among the youth heroes - is acting in 'Alludu' which deals about comedy and teasing three heroines (one atha and 2 maradallu) Ramya Krishna, Genelia and Shriya. The USA rights of this much awaited NTR's flick are grabbed by Sirichitra Distributors in USA who delivered blockbusters like Malliswari and Sye in the past. This film would have worldwide release on 24th January 2004. Giri - the producer of Sye - is producing this film in the direction of debutant director Vara (son of Mullapudi Venkata Ramana).

Counseling for producers
AP Film Producers Counsel (APFPC) is discouraging new producers to enter filmmaking as most of the new producers are pushing the industry into mess with inexperienced filmmaking. As it is must for every new producer to enroll into APFPC for making a film, the APFPC core committee is asking a few basic questions and try discouraging the new producers to enter the market as most of them make the things worse. There are 100's of unreleased films that are lying in docks because of no buyers.

Sundarangudu on 26th Nov
Surya's latest Tamil blockbuster Peralagan was in news recently as Venkatesh wanted to remake this film. But he backed out later and a new producer Govardhan is dubbing this film in Telugu as Sundarangudu (Handsome). Surya and Jyotika are playing two roles each. One glamorous and another unglamorous! Yuvan Shankar Raja provided music. Audio of this film was released by Srihari at a function organized at Film Chambers. This film is going to release on 26th November 2004.

Mass audio on 25th Nov
Audio of Nagarjuna's Mass (Dammunte Kasko) would be released on 25th November at a function that would be graced by fans of Nagarjuna. Devi Sri Prasad scored music. Shooting of this film is complete except for 2 songs. Shooting of Nagarjuna's solo song started today and the remaining song would be shot on Nagarjuna and Jyotika later. This film is all set for the release on 23rd of December 2005.

Celebrities for 10K run
Telugu film celebrities would be participating on Hyderabad 10K run that is scheduled on 28th of November. Rs 30/- is going to be the entry fee and part of this would go for charity. The inaugural 10K run that was held last year in Hyderabad was a huge success.

Dispute over LNS VCD rights
Shalimar video and Supreme audio are at loggerheads regarding the ownership of video rights of Bala Krishna's latest film 'Lakshmi Narasimha'. Shalimar video alleged Supreme for video piracy. Supreme produced the documents of video rights. Producer Bellamkonda says that he did not give rights to Supreme. The dispute started when Lakshmi Narasimha VCD which is being sold for Rs. 120/- by Shalimar in the market was threatened by another Lakshmi Narasimha VCD released by Supreme for Rs. 40/-.

Theaters booked for 51
Producer ML Kumar Chowdary going ahead with perfect planning for his flick '51' with Sumanth as hero. As per the reports, he booked the best theaters in all cities by now. With 7 Sankranthi films releasing for 2005, it would be very difficult to get a theater we want, but '51' managed to get pretty good theaters. The producer is contemplating to change the movie's title from '51' to 'Dhana 51' as Sumanth is playing the role of Dhana in this film. This film is all set to release on 14th January 2005.

80 lakhs of 1st week share for Yuvasena
Speaking to idlebrain.com on 13th November, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore - the producer of Yuvasena - informed that Yuvasena collected a share of 15 lakhs on release day. He estimated that the 1st week share would be 60-75 lakhs. After 7 days of run, the total share collected by Yuvasena exceeded the expectations of the producer. It collected close to 80 lakhs in for seven days. Thanks to 4 day long weekend due to Diwali and Ramzan. Budget of this film was 1.25 crores.

Abrakadabra - 1st 3D+ film in India
When the exhibitor plays a 3D film he need to do certain changes like changing the ordinary screen to a highly luminous screen and installing polarized lenses before the projector. A 3D+ film is one that does not need luminous screen and polarized lenses. India's 1st 3D plus film 'Abrakadabra' is coming on 24th of December 2004. This film is directed by Dhiraj Kumar who has experience of directing 2300 hours of Hindi TV serials. JVC Japan has manufactured a new camera exclusively for the purpose of this film. This film also uses enormous virtual reality effects. Using 3D plus technology one can even view specially made DVDs using goggles on the home Television. Paras Jain and NV Prasad are producing Telugu version of 'Abrakadabra' (the school of magic). Anupam Kher and Prabhudeva played important roles in this children film.

Valliddari Vayasu Padahare talkie over
M Kumara Swamy who produced hit films like 6 Teens and Girl Friend is producing another film titled 'Valliddari Vayasu Padahare'. This film introduces Saketh and Srilekha in the lead roles. Kalyani Malik provides music. Shooting of talkie part is completed. The shooting of this film was stalled for 4 months due to illness of character artist Raghuvaran who played an important role in this film. Bhanu Shankar (Evare Athagadu director) is directing this film. Valliddari Vayasu Padahare is expected to release either in the last week of December 2004 or in the 1st week of January 2005.

Raja flooded with offers
The surprise success of Anand has made Raja a hot hero. He has a series of quality films that are queued up for him. He is expected to play a vital role in Ramesh Varma's 'Mana Voorilo' film. He would also be doing an important role in VMC Doraswami Raju's next film with Jagapati Babu in the main lead. He would be playing solo hero in Supergood Film's next project that would start in January 2005. This film is going to be the remake of a Tamil hit flick 'Punnagai Desam' (starring Telugu hero Tarun). 15 lakhs share for Yuvasena
Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's Yuvasena - released with 35 prints in Andhra Pradesh - collected a handsome share of over 15 lakhs on 1st day of release (12th November 2004). This film is made with a budget of 1.2 crores and it collected 12.5% of its investment on the day one itself. This film collected around 9 lakhs of share in the Nizam territory itself. Yuvasena is expected to rake in 1st week share of 65 lakhs to 75 lakhs. This film is expected to recover the investment with in 2-3 weeks.

Four heroines with Taraka Ratna
Taraka Ratna would be dancing around with four heroines in his forthcoming film 'No'. Chaya Singh is acting as main heroine and Tanu Roy would be the second heroine. Keerti Chawla and Neha (of Dil fame) also worked for item songs in this film. 'No' film is being directed by debutant director Pappu. This film is expected to be released in this monthend (26th of November 2004).

Bomb diffused at Prasads
An unexploded bomb which was left behind during the second show of the Prasads screen that was playing Shankardada MBBS was unearthed by the staff at the midnight. If exploded, this bomb would have caused death to patrons sitting in and around 3 rows. The Prasads management is taking precautions of not allowing patrons with bags into the screens after this incident.

Nag distributes Mass for entire Andhra
Nagarjuna is so confident about the success of his December 23rd release Mass (Dammunte Kasko) that he retained rights for entire Andhra and Utharandhra (from Vizag to Nellore) though there are several big offers from those areas due to Nagarjuna's impeccable record of 4 continuous blockbusters (Santosham, Manmadhudu, Shivamani and Nenunnanu). However, Nagarjuna sold Mass film on NRA basis for Nizam and Ceded areas. Nagarjuna would be distributing Mass film using the distribution network of Suresh Movies in Andhra and Uttarandhra. By distributing his film through Suresh Movies, which is owned by Suresh Babu and hero Venkatesh (Venky has a Pongal release in the form of Sankranthi by Supergood Films), he is showing his solidarity about the friendship Nagarjuna shares with other big heroes. With in couple of days of starting of campaign, Mass film generated tremendous craze in business circles.

Premier trend catches up
Mum is the word when it comes to films in Telugu film industry. They do not say word about story before the release of the film. But slowly the things seem to be changing. A couple of years back, Chiranjeevi's Indra was premiered a day before release in Hitech theater. Last year, Allu Arjun's Gangotri was premiered in renovated Saptagiri theater. Last month, Sekhar Kammula's Anand was premiered at Prasads multiplex. And today the premiere of Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's Yuvasena was held at Santhi theater. Lets hope that many more premieres would follow soon.

EVV's film in December
EVV Satyanarayana is currently directing a comedy film titled 'Evadi Gola Vadide' with Aryan Rajesh and Deepika in the main leads. Larsco Entertainment is producing this film. The unit has recently shot vividly in Thailand and surrounding areas. Next schedule would start in Vizag. This film would be released in the latter half of December 2004.

Radha Gopalam in progress
Shooting Bapu's latest film 'Radhagopalam' is currently going on in full swing in Hyderabad city. Srikanth and Sneha are playing main leads. This film deals with a married middle class couple and their trifle fights in typical Bapu-Ramana style. Mullapudi Venkata Ramana is penning story and dialogues. Incidentally the Radha and Gopalam are the parents of Budugu in the popular Budugu book penned by Bapu-Ramana. Anil is producing this film on Sri Creations. Mani Sharma provides music. K Nagababu presents this film. This film's audio would be released in December. 'Radha Gopam' film is expected to release in the latter half of January 2005.

3 Telugu releases for Deepavali
Three direct Telugu films would be releasing for this Deepavali. These films are Chanti (Ravi Teja, Charmy - Sobhan), Yuvasena (Bharat, Gopika - Sravanthi Ravi Kishore) and Maa Ilavelupu (Madala Ravi, Prema). Yuvasena and Chanti are releasing on 12th November and Maa Ilaveluru would be releasing 13th November. We also have Veer-Zaara, Aitraaz, Naach and Mughal-E-Azam (color-repeat run) from Bollywood segment.

Varsham selected for IFFI
MS Raju - Prabhas's Sankranthi blockbuster Varsham is selected in mainstream section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which would be held at Goa. Producer MS Raju's earlier film Okkadu swept away awards in all film festivals including Nandi and Filmfare. His next film 'Nuvvostanante Ne Vaddantana' would be released for January 2004.

Sri Raghava (Selva Raghavan in Tamil) said that the story of 7/G Brindavan Colony is based on his true experiences. 90% of the storyline reflects his true story, he added. If heroine in film found hero's skill set to be bike repaired, the girl real life extracted the story writer from Sri Raghava. 7/G Brindavan Colony is getting excellent collections and generated terrific mouth talk.

Sravanthi Ravi Kishore's latest film Yuvasena obtained U certificate from Censor board. This film is all set to release on 12th November on the eve of Diwali. Jayaraaj - 3 times National award winner - directs remake of his own film '4 The People' in Malayalam. Jassie Gift composed variety songs for this film. Bharat (Boys fame) and Gopika (autograph fame) played main leads in Yuva Sena.

Ravi Krishna in Tamil Satyam
Ravi Krishna - son of AM Ratnam who made a successful debut in Telugu/Tamil in 7/G Brindavan Colony - would be acting as hero in Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster Satyam. Stalin would direct this film. More details later.

Hyderabad Central multiplex
Pantaloon came up with the biggest trendy shopping mall of Hyderabad - Hyderabad Central last week. This mall would have 4 floors for the shopping experience. Good news for Telugu film lovers is that it is going to come up with many film screens on the top floor. This multiplex would probably the 2nd multiplex in Hyderabad after AP.

Great grandson for legend NTR
Legend NTR's Grandson Nandamuri Janaki Ram and his wife had a baby boy today. He is the first great grand son for NTR with the surname of Nandamuri. Chiranjeevi watched Anand film
Chiranjeevi recently had a preview show of Anand film at the preview theater of Film chamber. Other celebrities like Aswini Dutt, Allu Arvind and Allu Arjun accompanied Chiranjeevi for the show. Animation video for Superstar's remix
A fan of Superstar Krishna would be producing a remix album of Superstar Krishna. This album features superstar's songs like Aggipulla Bhaggumannadi, Deerideeri etc. For the first time in South India an animation video song is being done on an artist. An animation song on the backdrop of beach is being produced with Superstar Krishna being an animated character for the song 'Aggipulla bhaggu mannadi'. Incidentally it is the 2nd animation song in India that features any actor.

Kona Venkat joins the big league
Kona Venkat - a Ram Gopal Varma's protégé - started his career as dialogue writer and screenplay wright in Ram Gopal Varma's films. He got a break through NTR's Samba. Now he is working on a film each with Chiranjeevi (Geeta Arts latest film) and Pawan Kalyan (Balu - ABCDEFG). Kona Venkat is doing his work very selectively by choosing limited projects.

Pawan Kalyan as Balu
Pawan Kalyan's latest film by Vyjayanthi Movies is titled as 'Balu' (with a tagline 'ABCDEFG'). This caption ABCDEF stands for 'A Boy Can Do Everything For Girl'. This film is being directed by Karunakaran, who made a trendsetting film 'Toliprema' with Pawan Kalyan as hero. It may be learnt that Pawan Kalyan's character name in Toliprema is also Balu. Mani Sharma is scoring music. Shriya and Neha Oberai are doing the roles of female leads. This film has heavy star cast including lots of big names from Mumbai (Gulshan Grover, Milind Gunaji & Saurabh Shukla). This film was also extensively shot in Delhi and Agra. A special set was erected near Taj Mahal for Balu. Another set (Old City) worth 90 lakhs was constructed for Balu in Ramoji Film City. This film is all set to release on 6th January 2005.

Surprise song in Vijayendra Varma
A power-packed patriotic song that comes as lead to climax is going to surprise sensational song in Vijayendra Varma film. This song was not included in the audiocassettes of Vijayendra Varma to keep the expectations low. Bala Krishna would appear in four powerful get-ups in this song. Konda Krishnam Raju said that Koti has come up with terrific re-recording for Vijayendra Varma. The unit visited Swiss recently to can a couple of outdoor songs. Konda Krishnam Raju produced this film and Swarna Subba Rao directed it. Vijayendra Varma is expected to release either in the last week of November or 1st week of December 2004.

Naveen bags another film
Vadde Naveen has signed another film titled 'Naa Voopiri'. This film would be produced by Siva Prasad and Murugan on Brahma creations banner. Kanamani would direct this flick. Deepak Devan would compose music. This film is expected to go to floors in the month of December.

Raghupati Venkaiah award for VB Rajendra Prasad
The Raghupati Venkayya award for the year 2003 is awarded to famous producer VB Rajendra Prasad who produced several golden oldies on Jagapati banner. VB Rajendra Prasad is the 23rd celebrity to be awarded this prestigious award. VB Rajendra Prasad's son Jagapati Babu is an established actor in Telugu. This award would be presented on 6th November 2004.

Sekhar Kammula flooded with offers
Nobody believed him when he tried narrating the script of Anand before making that film. But after Anand's release and its subsequent surprise success, the producers are giving him open offers. As per the latest buzz in Telugu film industry, around 18 producers offered to make a film in Sekhar Kammula's direction. A few of the names in that list include Aswini Dutt, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, NV Prasad and Konda Krishnam Raju.

Allu Arjun film - 3.06 crores in Ceded
Allu Arjun's latest film in the direction of VV Vinayak is doing great pre-release business. This film was sold for 3.06 crores for Ceded area. Famous film financier Mallikharjun started a distribution agency called Asha distributors and would be distributing this film. This film is being produced by M Satyanarayana Reddy on Siri Venkateswara Productions Pvt Ltd banner.

Brindavan Colony on 6th November
AM Ratnam's latest film 7/G Brindavan Colony is all set to release on 6th November 2004. This film's Tamil version '7/G Rainbow Colony' turned out to be a blockbuster in Tamil. This film has Ravi Krishna (2nd son of producer) and Sonia Agarwal in the mainleads. Selva Raghavan (Sri Raghava in Telugu) - director of Kadal Kondein - directed this film. Yuan Shankar Raja provided music.

Sada Mee Sevalo on 25 Dec
Venu's latest film Sada Mee Sevalo in the direction of National award winning director Neelakanta is expected to release on 25th of December 2004. Shriya is paired up with Venu in this film. SP Entertainments that produced films like Chirunavvutho and Swayamvaram in the past is producing this film.

Dhairyam songs in South Africa
Teja's latest love story 'Dhairyam' is going to shoot its songs in South Africa. Teja who never shot his songs outside Hyderabad, is going abroad to shoot songs for the first time. Teja is publicizing this film as his 4th love film (Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Jayam) and said that all his love stories are hits and hence Dhairyam would also become a hit. Nitin & Raima Sen are playing main leads. This film would be released in the month of December 2004.

Raasi turns TV anchor
Small screen is turning out to be the resort for the actors/actress whose career in big screen came to an end. Raasi, who is not having any film offers now, has become an anchor now. She is conducting a game show called 'Best Family' on Teja TV.

This week would be having the releases of two straight Telugu films. These films are Apparao Driving School and Swarabhishekam. Apparao Driving School (Rajendra Prasad, Malavika & Preeti Jingyani) is releasing on 4th of November 2004. Swarabhishekam (K Viswanath - Srikanth, Laya, Sivaji & Amukta Malyada) is releasing on 5th November 2004. K Viswanath directed a film after a huge gap of 9 years.

Anand in USA from 5th Nov
Surprise hit of the year Anand's USA rights were sold recently (a banner was also kept on idlebrain.com for seeking potential buyers of theatrical and DVD rights in USA). This film is releasing in USA with 2 prints on 5th November 2004 in San Jose (imc6) Dallas (Everest theaters).

Baba song in Swades
AR Rehman has reused his own composition of 'Baba Neeku Mokkuta' from Baba film in his latest Hindi album Swades starring Sharukh Khan. This song is 'Dekho Naa'. SP Bala Subramanyam and Sadhana Sargam rendered the Telugu version where Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan rendered the Hindi version.
