Pooja ceremony of Allu Arjun's latest film Happy in the direction of Karunakaran was held at Begumpet today morning. Genelia is the heroine. Yuan Shankar Raja is scoring music. Allu Arvind is producing Happy on Geeta Arts banner. Regular shooting of this film would start soon.

Varma to write a book
Ram Gopal Varma is going to write a book on his films and how his films are made. He would be analyzing and narrating his experiences while making the films. Penguin Book Publishers have bought the rights of this book. This book is expected to hit the stores in the month of December.

Sunil as hero?
Top rated comedy star Sunil is expected to do the role of solo hero very soon. This film is going to be the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster Sundara Purushan (Livingstone). A Tamil banner is expected to produce this film. More details later.

Balayya to lead Nandi committee

Two releases in this week
1st of September is going to witness the releases of two films in the form of Okkade and Muddula Koduku. Okkade is the comeback vehicle of Srihari as solo hero. Five get-ups for Nagarjuna in Sriramadasu
Nagarjuna would be having five get-ups in Sri Ramadasu film that is based on one of the most reputed Telugu singers and staunch devotee of Lord Srirama. These get-ups come during different stages of life of Sriramadasu like youngster, Tahasildar, prisoner etc. There is an excellent craze in market and movie lovers on this film as Sri Ramadasu is coming from the team that delivered blockbuster Annamayya. Sholay in Telugu on Zee Telugu
For the first time in the history of Telugu Television, a Hindi film is being dubbed in Telugu for the sole purpose of showing on Television. Sholay - the landmark film of Indian Cinema - is going to be shown with Telugu dubbed dialogues on Zee Telugu at 3:30 pm on Sunday (28th July). Jaya Prasad penned dialogues for this film. SJ Surya arrested and released
Popular Telugu and Tamil film director SJ Surya was arrested on 23rd August for throwing his cell phone on censor board member when she refused to let SJ Surya add a song in a Tamil film titled 'New'. He was released on the bail immediately. The magistrate asked SJ Surya to report to police station in Chennai everyday. Sessions Court of Madras asked the censor board to withdraw censor certificate for excessive vulgarity in 'New' film on 5th of August. SJ Surya directed Kushi and Naani in Telugu.

Godavari from 27th Aug
Sekhar Kammula (Anand fame) is all set to launch his next film Godavari on 27th of August. This film has Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the lead roles. After a brief shoot of 10 days in Hyderabad, the unit would shift to Godavari area to shoot for 45 days. Sekhar Kammula is aiming for December 2005 release. The technical team (KM Radha Krishnan, C Vijay Kumar and Marthand K Venkatesh) that worked for Anand would be working for this film as well. This film would be produced jointly by Sekhar Kammula (Amigos Creations) and GVG Raju (SSC Arts).

Homecoming to Ramu
Ram Gopa Varma did his engineering from Siddardha Engineering College in Vijayawada and later he went on to become a sensational director and got national reputation as director and producer. He would be attending a grand audio function of James to be organized at Siddardha College Grounds on 28th of this month. The other guests are going to be hero Ravi Teja and MP Lagadapati Raj Gopal. Madhura Entertainments bagged the audio rights of Telugu version of James. James would be releasing on 16th of September.

National Award winning film Grahanam would be releasing on 26th of this month in 8 centers with 8 prints. Shankar to direct Rajnikant's Sivaji
Director Shankar would be directing Rajnikant's next film 'Sivaji'. This film would be produced by the prestigious banner AVM. Incidentally this is Shankar's 9th film. It is the 9th film with AVM banner for Rajnikant. NV Prasad grabbed the Telugu version rights of this film. Shooting of this film would start for Dipavali 2005 and would be released in April 2006. Chiranjeevi is currently doing 'Jai Chiranjeeva' in the direction of K Vijaya Bhaskar on C Aswini Dutt's Vyjayanthi banner. His next film would be directed by Murugadas (Tagore's original director). Suman as Srirama in Sri Ramadasu
Veteran actor Suman would be donning the vital role of Lord Srirama in Nagarjuna - K Raghavendra Rao's latest devotional film Sri Ramadasu. This film would go to floors on 22nd of August. The first schedule would take place from 22nd August to 6th September in Hyderabad. PVR Cinemas in Hyderabad
PVR Cinemas - the biggest multiplex chain in India - is entering Hyderabad now. It has built 5 screens with together capacity of 1400 seats on the top floor in which Hyderabad Central is located at Punjagutta, Hyderabad. Initially, it faced parking-lot problem. Now it is being sorted out. This multiplex is expected to launch in a month.

MPOD on 7th September
Venky's (Kabaddi Kabaddi fame) 3-characters film Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu (MPOD) would be releasing on 7th of September with limited prints. Raja, Shriya and Brahmanandam essayed the characters of Mogudu, Pellam and O Dongodu respectively. Vakada Apparao is producing this film on Sri Ramalayam vari banner. Kabuli scored music. This film would be releasing in USA on 9th of September.

Maruthi enters Overseas
Maruthi Movies distributors - a major player in Nizam distribution circle (Okkadu, Varsham, NVNV, Mass, Shivamani, ANOTA, Athanokkade, Vasantham, Satyam, Nenunnanu, Super and Athadu) and also an important brand in audio distribution - is all set to enter overseas market. Akula Siva provides story. Chota K Naidu handles camera. Nallamalupu Bujji produces this film. Muhurat of Lakshmi was held at Suresh Productions on 14th of August. Regular shooting would take place from 21st August onwards.

Vikram misses Aparichitudu function
There was a huge turnout for Aparichitudu 50 days function in Tirupati town on 14th of August. The function which was supposed to start at 6 pm was delayed by one and half an hour. The crowds as disappointed as the hero Vikram and heroine Sada could not make it to the function.

Single character film
Siven Hills Creations is producing a film titled 'Tarvatha Emiti?'(What's Next?) in the direction of MS Vasu with single character played by Raj Narendra. This film is about how a soldier who falls into a jungle due to warplane crash makes his way out of jungle. This film is made on digital mode and duration of this film would be of 1 hour and 45 minutes. There is one song in this film scored by Taraka Ramarao. Athadu team donates 2 lakhs
Hero Mahesh Babu and producer Jayabheri Kishore donated a lakh each to the family of a Mahesh Babu's fan Sheik Moulali who had a sad demise in Tadipatri while procuring a ticket for Mahesh Babu's Athadu on its released day. Producer Jayabheri Kishore said that the film met with great response all over.

Aparichitudu 50-days function in Tirupati
Producer Subramanyam is going to host 50-days function of blockbuster Aparichitudu on the evening of 14th August at Mahathi auditorium in Tirupati town. This film was released with 110 prints and the prints number reached 125 after it's success. This function would be attended by the hero Vikram and the director Shankar. Producer is also considering the idea of celebrating 100 days function in grand style at a later point.

Andhrudu on 19th August
Gopichand's film Andhrudu with Bihar backdrop is all set to release on 19th of August. This film is produced on Sri Keerthi Creations banner by ML Kumar Chowdary in the direction of Paruchuri Murali. Kalyani Malik provided music. Gowri Pandit is paired up with Gopichand. This film is a violent love story. Incidentally, Andhrudu is the only major Telugu film that is releasing on 19th August.

Athadu shows cancelled in US on 11th (NJ show at 9 pm on 11th August)
Athadu shows scheduled for 11th August in USA are cancelled except for New Jersey due to unexpected delay caused in Fedex shipment. The New Jersey show is scheduled at 9 pm on 11th August. The shows would be screened as per schedule in San Jose, Detroit, Chicago, Virginia, Falls Church and Dallas from 12th August onwards.

Three producers for Teja's film
D Suresh Babu, Teja and Nallamalupu Bujji would be jointly producing Teja's next film Kotha Chitram. This film would be a new line cinema. Ilayaraja has already given 9 tunes for this film. Recording of songs would be start on next Wednesday in Chennai. Teja is planning to introduce new singers through this film. We have already asked the interested visitors to send a mail to [email protected] to grab the opportunity to sing in Teja's Kotha Chitram under the baton of Ilayaraja. Teja is considering all the mails that are sent with a sample audio file of less than 1 mb. This film would be launched very soon.

One died in Athadu ticket rush
A youngster named Sheik Moulali died in the process of producing a ticket for his favorite star Mahesh Babu's film Athadu on its release date 10th August 2005 in Tadipatri of Ananthapur district. May his soul rest in peace.

4 prints for AOR in USA
We informed in the last week that one print was added in USA for Anukokunda Oka Roju film. On public demand, another print is sent to LA now. This makes the total prints count to 4. Around 280 patrons attended the AOR show at LA last week. Looking at this positive response, the distributor Sridhar Appasani decided to screen the film again in Naz 8 Cinemas on 14th of this month. AOR is going to play in 8 centers this weekend in USA.

Athadu film with 18 reels
The prints of Mahesh Babu's much awaited flick Athadu are already dispatched to various head quarters of territories by evening. The prints USA are on their way. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Athadu film is having 18 reels and the length of the film is 5080 meters (16,666 feet). The twin theaters of Kukatpally (Bramarambha and Mallikharjuna) are screening special fans shows at 8 am on 10th August with the ticket priced at Rs. 100/-. The mid night shows are expected to start in Tirupathi and other important areas in Ceded. In Vijayawada city, Athadu would have benifit shows in Urvasi and Alankar theaters at 8 am.

South Indian film industry's top actress Jyothika is all set to wed Tamil film hero Surya in the next month. She had to reject a couple of hot offers (heroine role in Nagarjuna;s Bhakta Ramadasu and Venkatesh's Lakshmi) due to the same reason.

KS Rama Rao grabs Chandramukhi Hindi remake rights
KS Rama Rao (Creative Commercials banner) has grabbed the Hindi remake rights of Chandramukhi. This subject was originally made in Malayalam as Manichithrathazhu in Malayalam in 1993 by Fazil. This film was remade as Aptamitra by P Vasu in Kannada which went on to run for over a year. Apta Mitra won all the Filmfare awards that are in Kannda language segment this year. Later on P Vasu directed the bilingual in Tamil and Telugu with Rajnikanth and Jyothika as 'Chandramukhi'. This film is a huge blockbuster in both Tamil and Telugu. KS Rama Rao has bought this subject that went on to become blockbuster in all four languages. The artists under consideration to play the lead role are Amitab Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The cast and crewmembers would be finalized very soon.

Sneha in Sri Ramadasu
It was announced earlier that Jyothika would be doing the female lead against Nagarjuna in Sri Ramadasu film. She has opted out due to some personal reasons. Sneha is roped in to play that role now. Sneha got popular with her sensible portrayal as Telugu housewife in Bapu's Raghagopalam. It is also learnt that the director tried to cast in Kamalinee Mukherjee. But Kamalinee has already given bulk dates to Sekhar Kammula's Godavari during the same period. Regular shooting of this film would start from 3rd week of August.

Ravi Krishna as Jadoo
Ravi Krishna's 3rd Telugu film is titled as Jadoo with a tagline 'a romantic thief'. Jyothi Krishna is directing this film. Shooting of Jadoo is currently going on in Hyderabad. Yuan Shankar Raja is composing music for this love story with slick action backdrop. Stun Siva composes fights. Ileana and Tamanna are playing female leads. AM Ratnam is producing this film on Sri Surya Movies banner. Ravi Krishna's 2nd film Muddula Koduku is ready for the release.

Bhageeratha shoot completed
The shooting of Ravi Teja's latest film Bhageeratha is completed except for a song. Shriya is paired up with Ravi Teja. The unit has recently shot a few songs in Europe. Popular cinematographer Rasool Ellore is directing this film. Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy (Bunny producer) produces this film. Chakri scores music. Audio of this film would be releasing in this month and the film would be releasing in the next month.

1 more print for AOR in USA
Just Yellow Media's latest hit Anukokunda Oka Roju was released with 2 prints a few weeks back. Due to the demand from the exhibitors, one more print is added from this week. This film is playing at Chicago, LA, Virginia and Memphis this week end. This film would be playing in seven centers (Minneapolis, Connecticut, Houston, Boston, Indianapolis Albany & St Louis) next week.

Publicity blitz for Nuvvante Nakistam
EVV Satyanarayana gives keeps a big portion of his film's budget aside for the publicity. His latest film Nuvvante Nakistam is releasing in the same week of Mahesh Babu's Athadu on 12th August. In Hyderabad city alone, 40 vinyl posters are going to be displayed. It would cost lots of money to get the prime spots. And EVV is not compromising on publicity aspect for this film.

Odd titles rule the roost
Kotta Chitram, Modati Cinema and Kotha Katha. These are the titles of the films that are going to be released in this year. And the titles of the films have no relevance to the story of the film. Recently released films like Super and Rendella Taruvatha too have titles that have no connection to the story line. The filmmakers are trying to come up with interesting titles to create curiosity factor among the film goers.

Athadu on 10th August
Mahesh Babu's latest film Athadu is all set to release on 10th August which happens to be the Wednesday. This film got censored yesterday. Trisha is paired up with Mahesh Babu. Initially the release date was announced as 12th August and now it is advanced. Popular dialogue writer Trivikram directed this film. Music scored by Mani Sharma is a chartbuster. D Kishore is producing this film on Jayabheri banner.

Arti Agarwal in a controversy
Film actress Arti Agarwal has landed up in a minor controversy on the night of 3rd August when she visited a popular bar in Banjara Hills. She allegedly knocked the door of rest room so heavily that Ritu Nagpal - the women inside restroom - got injured. Then there was allegedly an altercation between the two women. Razak Sharma - a friend of Ritu - launched a police complaint against Arti Agarwal at Banjara Hill Police station. Sub Inspector of Police Vidya Sagar is investigating this case.

Ilaya Raja gives 9 tunes in one hour
Teja told idlebrain.com that it took Maestro Ilayaraja a couple of half an hour sessions to come up with 9 tunes for his forthcoming film Kotha Chitram. Generally music directors take around 3 days to come up with one tune. The recording of the songs would start in the next week. Teja is planning to take in new singers for this album.

Pellam Pichodu on 19th Aug
Rajendra Prasad's latest film Pellam Pichodu would be releasing on 19th of this month. Richa Pallod and Srujana played the female leads. Popular lyricist Jonnavithula is making his debut as director with this film. Hero Rajendra Prasad is making his debut as music director with this film. RRB Sastry and BV Srinivas are jointly producing this film.

RP Patnaik's short film '22 Minutes' with the duration of 22 minutes is complete. This film has only 3 characters played by Raja, Veda (Archana) and Raghubabu. RP is making his debut as director with '22 Minutes' that is aimed at screening in film festivals. RP Patnaik is planning to preview this film to press and film industry people on 14th of August in Prasad labs. Lots of film celebrities are expected watch this film as 14th August happen to be second Sunday, which is a holiday for film industry.

RFC enters Guinness Book of World Records
Ramoji Film City - located at the outskirts of Hyderabad city - entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest film city in the world. RFC is spread over 1600 acres and has in-house facilities to make over 20 films simultaneously. One can enter the RFC with a script and go out of RFC with finished print. It also boasts of star hotels and other guest houses to lodge cast and crewmembers. Ramoji Rao - the media baron of AP - owns RFC.

Venkat Kuchipudi's directorial debut film is titled as 'Modati Cinema'. This film stars Navdeep and Poonam (debutant) in the lead roles. 90% of shooting of this film is completed.
