Bala Krishna’s film launch on 30th April
The next venture of Bala Krishna will be launched on 30th of this month in Rama Naidu studios. P Vasu (Chandramukhi fame) will direct this film. Sneha, Meera Jasmine and Navaneet Kaur play female leads. Thotapalli Madhu pens dialogues Guru Charan who composed music for Kannada blockbusters like Jogi and Aptamitra will score music for this film. MP Jaya Prada plays a vital role in this film. Sekhar V Joseph handles cinematography. Vakada Appa Rao produces this film on Lalitha Kalanjali productions banner.

Bala Krishna for Devadasu function
Bala Krishna Nandamuri will attend the 100 days function of YVS Chowdary’s Sankranthi blockbuster Devadasu as chief guest on the night of 1st May. Dasari and D Rama Naidu will also grace the occasion.

Ahmed to make film on Religions
Ahmed – a new filmmaker – held a press meet on 27th April to announce a film that deals with all religions in the world and explains the concept in a very entertaining way. He registered two titles for this film ‘The Return of Christ Bond 07 & Anti Christ 666’ and ‘The Second Coming of Jesus – Shiv 007 & Kaana Dajjaal 666’. This film is expected to preach that all religions are same. He is planning to make this film in all languages and release it worldwide.

Raj Kapoor award to Rajnikant
Maharashtra government is going to give away its prestigious Raj Kapoor award to Rajnikant this year. Rajnikant is going to receive this award in Thane on the night of 30th April. This award includes a cash prize of Rs. 1 lac and a memento.

Sri Ramadasu in IMAX from 29th
Sri Ramadasu film is going to be projected in IMAX screen of Prasads from 29th of this month. IMAX screen is 10 times bigger than the regular film screen. The sound system in IMAX Theater will produce sound up to 12000 watts. Incidentally Sri Ramadasu is going to be first Telugu film to be screened on IMAX screen.

Rajamouli back to work on 28th April
Director Rajamouli who was slightly injured a couple of days back is ready to work now. The next schedule of Vikramarkudu will start on 28th of April. Rajamouli will shoot combination scenes of Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam on that day. The unit will complete shooting of the film in 25 days. Producer ML Kumar Chowdary is planning to release Vikramarkudu in the second week of June.

Bala Krishna in Eluru
Bala Krishna is in Eluru - the home town of Veerabhadra’s producer Ambika Krishna – to perform special poojas at Ambika Devi temple. Bala Krishna stayed at the residence of Ambika Krishna. Bala Krishna also visited the house of his fan Tilak and had breakfast. Incidentally Tilak is one of the six lucky fans who received audiocassettes on stage in audio launch of Veerabhadra. Veerabhadra is releasing on 29th of this month.

Neelakanta to remake Missamma in Tamil
Neelakanta has directed a Tamil film titled Priyanka in the past. Revathi who acted in the title role won filmfare award as the best actress. After a long gap in Tamil, Neelakanti is going to direct the remake of his own Telugu blockbuster Missamma. Cheran (autograph fame) and Asin are going to play main leads. This film will be launched in the month of June. There are plans to remake Missamma in Hindi too.

Vishnu and Mohan Babu combination film
Vishnu and Mohan Babu are going to do competitive roles in Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner’s next venture to be directed by G Ram Prasad (of Chirunavvutho fame). Sobhana is going to act apposite Mohan Babu. Joshua Sridhar (Premiste fame) will compose music. Marudhuri Raja pens dialogues. Balamurugan handles cinematography. Manoj Kumar presents this film and Mohan Babu produces it. This film will go to floors in the last week of April.

MS Raju to launch his son as hero
Producer MS Raju is planning to launch his son Sumanth Aswin as hero with in a span of one year. He disclosed it in an exclusive chitchat with idlebrain.com recently.

Sukumar’s inputs for Maha
Shooting of the climax is currently going on for the Telugu version of bilingual film ‘Maha’ starring Bharat (Premiste fame) and Mallika Kapoor. Speaking to idlebrain.com producer Bunny Vasu thanked popular director Sukumar (Arya fame) for giving suggestions for the Telugu version of Maha. Music scored by Yuan Shankar Raja got good response. Bunny Vasu, Maruti and Sumanth are producing this film on ‘New Entertainments’ banner. Maha is expected to hit the marquee in the first week of May.

Bheema film launched
Vikram’s latest bilingual Bheema was launched in Chennai recently. Trisha is playing female lead. AM Ratnam produces this film in the direction of Lingu Swamy (Run fame). Regular shooting of this film will start on 27th of this month in Hyderabad. Nana Patekar is expected to play a vital role in this film.

MSR praises Sri Ramadasu
M Satyanarayana Rao – state minister for cinematography – has recently watched the preview of Nagarjuna’s Sri Ramadasu preview. After watching the preview he said that he is proud to have watched such a brilliant film starring son of his close friend (ANR). He opined that Nagarjuna’s Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu would stand as two of the very few best films ever made in Telugu.

Oka V Chitram on Dasari’s birthday
Teja’s latest film Oka V Chitram will be releasing on 4th of May on the eve of producer Dasari’s birthday. This film is made in low budget to capitalize the encouragement given by the government for small films. Pradeep Pinisetty, Poonam Kaur, Vamsi and Malishka are making their debut as artists. This film is made on Siri Media Pvt Ltd banner.

Ramya Krishna in Sri Krishna 2006
Popular actress Ramya Krishna is doing a special role in D Rama Naidu’s latest film ‘Sri Krishna 2006’. Veteran story writer Vijayendra Prasad is directing this film. Srikanth, Venu and Gowri Mumjal play main leads. Shooting of the film is complete but for 2 songs. D Rama Naidu is planning to release this film on 19th of May.

Chiranjeevi attends WTF
Chiranjeevi attended World Telugu Federation’s seventh biennial meet as guest in Dubai. The Telugu World Federation is a non-profit and non-political organization dedicated to facilitate deeper understanding and healthy relationships in society. A mega show consisting of performances by Mani Sharma, Lawrence, Sriya, Mano, Mallikharjun, Sunitha and Abhinaya Sri was organized and the money collected through this will be channeled to improve the living standards of Telugu working class in Dubai. JV Rao presented Swarna Kankanam to Chiranjeevi and Chiranjeevi returned it so that the organizers would use it for social welfare for Telugu people in Dubai.

Kithakithalu extends to 3 hours
Director EVV Satyanarayana is so impressed with his film Kithakithalu that he doesn’t want to trim the 3 hour version to conventional 2 and half hour version. This film basically runs on the situational comedy thread of relationship between a lean husband and his fat wife. Naresh, Geetu Singh and Madhu Shalini play main leads. There are no original songs, but EVV inserted several parody songs in this film. Kithakithalu is all set to release on 5th May.

Venu praises Evandoy Sreevaru
Hero Venu (swayavaram fame) praised Evandoy Sreevaru after watching the preview. He said that this film will be a good film like Srikanth-Sathibabu combination films in the past. Songs of this film were preview to journalists today morning. Srikanth, Sneha and Nikhita play main leads. Evandoy Sreevaru will be releasing on 21st of this month.

Charmme with Sumanth again
Charmme is paired up with Sumanth again after ‘Gowri’. She is signed as heroine for Sumanth’s next project in the direction of Kanmani (Naa Oopiri fame). Ramana Gogula composes music. Shooting of this film will start on 23rd of this month. Katragadda Lokesh will produce it. Polygon Motion Pictures is presenting this film.

Seenu Vytla’s Dubai Seenu
Seenu Vytla’s next project is titled as Dubai Seenu. This film comes up with an interesting story line. Seenu Vytla is currently working on Dhee film with Vishnu and Genelia in the main leads.

Kannada Raj Kumar is no more
Legend of Kannada film industry Raj Kumar (77) expired due to cardiac arrest today. He acted in 220 films so far. He started his career as hero in 1954 with Bedara Kannappa film. He was also a great singer and rendered his voice to many devotional songs. He has won prestigious awards like Padbha Bhushan and Dada Sahed Falke. The new of his kidnapping by Veerappan made sensation in year 2000. He is survived by wife and three sons. May his soul rest in peace!

Producers vying for Pokiri Rights
Prince Mahesh Babu's film "Pokiri" which is directed by Puri Jagannadh has got tremendous business craze in trade circles and famous film producers bought the movie in some areas. Dil Raju bought the movie for Nizam area and for the first time Tagore Madhu entered into film distribution with Pokiri and he bought the Krishna area rights. Maha movie Producers Bunny Vasu and co bought the Guntur area rights. MAA TV bought the satellite rights of Pokiri movie for 1.08 crores well before the release of the movie. Pokiri movie is slated for summer release on 28th of April.

Vishnu’s latest film in the direction of Seenu Vytla is titled as Dhee with tagline Kotti Choodu. Genelia plays female lead. Srihari plays a vital character. Malli Satyanarayana Reddy who produced Bunny will produce this film. Shooting of the film is almost complete. Publicity of this film will open tomorrow.

Anoop’s music to Rasool film
Rasool who directed Okariki Okaru and Bhageeratha so far will be directing a film soon by introducing newcomers. He held press meet and gave out a phone number to for all actor-wannabes to contact him. He got tremendous response and selection process is going on. Sameer Reddy handles camera. Anoop will score music. There will be five bit songs and two full songs in this film. This film will go to floors in the second week of May.

Veerabhadra on 29th April
Bala Krishna’s much awaited mass flick Veerabhadra is all set to release all over AP on 29th of this month (Saturday) at 7:42 am. This news is just confirmed by the producer. Sada and Tanu Sri Dutta play female leads. Mani Sharma’s music has already a hit. AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary (Yagnam fame) directed this film.

Salman Khan sent to jail
Hindi film hero Salman Khan was sent to a jail to Jodhpur after being sentenced to 5-years rigorous imprisonment today in blackbuck poaching case (1998). Magistrate also imposed a fine of Rs. 25000/- on Salman Khan.

Kittu on 22nd April
Kittu, first straight animation film in Telugu is going to release on 22nd of this month. Kittu is the story of an intelligent but naughty and care-free monkey kid in a forest. It is the story of how his misbehavior and mischief leads him to strange and difficult circumstances in the human society, which brings up self realization in Kitttu.

Meghana Naidu’s item song in Vikramarkudu
Bollywood’s Telugu sizzling girl Meghana Naidu is going to do an item song in Ravi Teja’s latest film Vikamarkudu in the direction of Rajamouli. The song is yet to be composed by Keeravani. There will be five songs in this film.

Sairam Shankr’s next film details
Sairam Shankar who made his debut with 143 is going to act in a film to be produced by popular Ceded distributor Raghunadh Sogi. New director Sriram is going to be introduced with this film. Allu Arjun’s friendship gesture
Allu Arjun’s close friend and associate Vasu is producing Maha film with Bharat and Mallika Kapoor in the main leads by introducing cinematographer Vijay Milton as director. Audio function of this film was held in grand style today with entertaining dance performances by Ankita, Pooja Bharati and Tanu Roy. What became the highlight of the entire function is dance performed by Allu Arjun. Allu Arjun danced on the stage as a gesture of friendship to the producer Vasu, though Allu Arjun is no way connected to Maha film.

Politicians praise Sri Ramadasu
Nagarjuna’s latest devotional epic Sri Ramadasu was screened for the politicians on Saturday at Prasad labs. KR Suresh Reddy (speaker), JC Diwakar Reddy (Panchayati Raj minister) and Kanumuri Bapiraju are among various politicians with attended the preview. All of them praised Nagarjuna’s performance and hailed that Sri Ramadasu as great film.

Poonam Kaur changes screen name to Deepa
Poonam Kaur who won Miss Andhra crown in the year of 2005 is currently acting in two films – Oka V Chitram and Mayajalam. Since there are already two more heroines bearing the name Poonam, she decided to change her screen name to Deepa after consulting numerologist. Both her films are going to be released in this summer.

Chiranjeevi to clap for AKR’s son
Sumanth – son of popular film director A Kodandarami Reddy – will be launched at a grand function arranged in Annapurna studios. Chiranjeevi and other prominent heroes will attend this function. Chiranjeevi is expected sound the clapboard. A Kodandarami Reddy will direct this film on his home banner ‘Vijetha’. However, Sumanth is going to have another screen name as there is already one Sumanth in the industry.

Audio of Sekhar Kammula’s latest flick Godavari with Sumanth and Kamalinee in the leads will be releasing at an informal get-together to be arranged in Hotel Viceroy on the night of Sri Rama Navami (7th April). Nagarjuna is expected to grace this occasion. Madhura Entertainment bought audio rights. KM Radhakrishna scored music. For the first time in the history of Telugu radio broadcasting, FM Rainbow is going to broadcast the function in the afternoon of Sunday (9th April).

Venkatesh’s USA trip
Hero Venkatesh is going for one month vacation to USA this summer along with his family. He will be starting here on 15th of this month and returning Hyderabad on 15th of May. His next film in the direction of Yogi (Oka Raju Oka Rani fame) will start after Venkatesh returns. D Suresh Babu produces this film on Suresh productions banner.

Kanmani to direct Sumanth
Kanmani who got excellent critical acclaim for his film ‘Naa Oopiri’ that dealt with schizophrenia is going to direct Sumanth again. Katragadda Lokesh who produced hit flick Bhadrachalam will produce this film. This film is expected to be launched in the month of April.

Mega felicitation of 23rd April
Mega felicitation of Padma Bhushan Chiranjeevi film Telugu film industry is shifted from 9th April to 23rd April. Amitab Bachchan and Rajnikant gave their confirmation to attend this mega felicitation. Telugu film producers counsel has just taken a decision after a prolonged meeting today. Zee Telugu bagged broadcast rights of this event by paying 70 lakhs.

Annavaram shoot from 10th April
Regular shooting of Pawan Kalyan’s next venture Annavaram will start on 10th of this month in Annapurna studios. The unit will shift to Aluminum factory in Gachibowli after 3 days. The first schedule of the film will take place till 31st of April. This film is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Tirupachi. Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao directs this film. Asin is doing female lead. Sandhya (Premiste) fame will do sibling of Pawan Kalyan. Mega Super Good Films Pvt limited produce this film. Ramana Gogula provides music. Muhurat of this film was held on 15th of December 2005.

K Viswanath impressed with Sri Ramadasu
Veteran film director K Viswanath watched Sri Ramadasu in Harihar Mahal theater, Guntur town on 31st March. He appreciated Sri Ramadasu film by saying that he got satisfaction of watching a good film after long gap. He was in Guntur to receive an award for Ugaadi by a cultural unit.

Andala Ramudu in June
Sunil’s first solo hero film Andala Ramudu was stalled due to Arti Agarwal’s injury. Shooting of the film is complete except for a couple of songs. These two songs will be canned on Sunil and Arti in the last week of May. Mega Super Good Films is producing this film by introducing Mr. Deepti as director. This film will be released in the last week of June.

Nuvvu Nenu Prema in July
Surya (Ghazani fame) is currently doing a Tamil film with Jyothika and Bhumika Chawla as female leads. Debutant director Krishna is directing this film. Harris Jayaraj scores music. This film is being dubbed in Telugu as ‘Nuvvu Nenu Prema’ in Telugu by Mega Super Good banner. This film will be released in the month of July 2006.

Pokiri music in market on 6th April
Superstar Krishna launched the audio of Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri on the night of 4th April at a function arranged in Viceroy hotel and gave the first unit to Mahesh Babu. Krishna Fans association president Diddi Rambabu bought 116 audiocassettes on this eve. Jamadagni (a senior Krishna fan from Gudiwada) bought a cassette for 1,116/- from superstar Krishna. Audio of the film will be available on the racks from 6th April onwards. This film will be releasing on 28th of this month.

Mumaith’s item song in Pokiri
Bollywood item girl Mumaith Khan who did ‘Mannela’ song is Chatrapati did another item song in Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri. The lyric of this song goes like ‘Naa Manasu Inka Padahare’. Audio of Pokiri sports six songs scored by Mani Sharma.

Chandramukhi in German and Turkish languages
Rajnikant’s blockbuster Chandramukhi is going to be dubbed in German and Turkish languages and will be released in Germany and Turkey respectively by Sanjay Wadwa. Chandramukhi is the first Tamil film to be dubbed in these languages and 2nd Indian film after Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham.

Pokiri audio on 4th April
Audio of Mahesh Babu’s latest film Pokiri in the direction of Puri Jagan will be released by Superstar Krishna on the evening of 4th April at a function arranged in Hotel Viceroy. Hotel Viceroy is considered as lucky mascot for Puri Jagan as audios of all his films on Vaishno Academy banner were released at the same venue. Superstar Krishna released hit audios of Mahesh Babu like Okkadu, Arjun and Athadu in the past few years.

YSR to launch Prabhas film
YS Rajasekhara Reddy (CM of AP) will be launching Prabhas’s next film in the direction of VV Vinayak. YSR’s brother-in-law and Kadapa mayor P Ravindranath Reddy is making his debut as producer with this film. Special invitations bearing the shape of clapboard were sent to all film industry bigwigs and politicians. This film will be launched on 7th April. More details here

Sravanthi Ravi Kishore’s latest film Premate Inthe in the direction of Ramana will be releasing on 14th April. Navadeep and Poonam Bajwa play main leads in this film. Premate Inthe is the remake of Bollywood flick Socha Na Tha. Koti’s music given to this film got good appreciation.

The unit of Sri Ramadasu is traveling to Bhadrachalam on 7th of this month to seek the blessings of Lord Sri Rama following the success of Sri Ramadasu film. Nagarjuna, K Raghavendra Rao, MM Keeravani, S Gopal Reddy, JK Bharavi and Konda Krishnam Raju will visit Bhadrachalam.

Devadasu 100 days function on 1st May
YVS Chowdary’s Devadasu is completing 100 days on 20th of this month in 40 centers. Producer and director YVS Chowdary is planning to hold a big 100 days function on 1st May (May Day) to commemorate the success of Devadasu, which picked up the momentum and joined the hit list after 50 days of release.

Sayaji Shinde in an English film
