Rajnikanth
completes 56
South Indian Superstar Rajnikath completes 56 years today.
Rajnikanth's real name is Sivaji Rao Gaekwad. He was born
in Bangalore. His father Ramoji Rao was a police constable.
He started his career as bus conductor. Then he joined Madras
Film Institute. He made his debut with Katha Sangama (a black
and white Kannada film made in 1975). He tasted success with
Apoorva Raagangal (1975). It was K Balachandar who rechristened
his name as Rajnikant.
Rajnikant
acted in more than 150 films so far, out of which 26 are in
Hindi. Rajnikant's superlative and flamboyant style is a treat
to watch. His trademark mannerism of flipping a cigarette
before he catches it with his mouth sends the masses into
hysteria.
Rajnikant
is also extremely popular in Japan. His blockbuster Padayappa
was sold to a Japanese distributor for mind-boggling amount
of 50,000$. This amount is said to be the highest amount ever
paid to an Indian film in Japan.
Rajnikant's
latest film Chandramukhi stood out to be the number one grosser
in the entire South India. The Government of India conferred
Rajnikanth with Padmabhushan award in the year 1999 when he
completed 25 years as an actor.
Idlebrain.com
wishes Rajnikant a great day on his birthday and we hope that
Rajnikant would keep continue delighting Indian movie lovers
with many more films in the years to come.
