Ramanaidu Film Institute soon

The Ramanaidu Film Institute is going to come up in Hyderabad in a few weeks. The main objective of the institute is to bring high standards of filmmaking in Telugu film industry. D. Suresh Babu, producer and son of Dr. Ramanaidu, announced this at a press meet today held at Ramanaidu Studios. The complete proceedings pertaining to the course in "Direction and Screen Writing" will be implanted from August 18th, from which date the application and prospectus to the admission seekers would be issued.

Suresh Babu said: "It has been my long pending dream to start a Film Institute as a subsidiary to the Ramanaidu Studios on a par with the standards of an IIM. We have all the hi-fi facilities like production, recording, editing and postproduction works. Though film institutes are there in Chennai and Pune, we direly are in need of an outstanding institute in Hyderabad. By Dasara, the full-fledged course will commence with just 25 students to start with. The admissions will be based the entrance test and pure merit. Minimum qualification of a degree is compulsory, but in case of people with extraordinary talent, we will provide relaxation over educational qualification."

"We will provide direct training to the students. The course will be monitored by experienced faculty drawn from the respective fields of direction and screen writing. Prof. Venkatesh Chakravarthy from Chennai would head the team. Of course, I will also look into some important aspects of the course. This is one and half year course. The meritorious will be given opportunity in Suresh Productions ventures. The fee structure is tentatively planned to cost Rs. 2 lakhs. However, I am ready to offer the course free of cost to the candidates who are found to be really deserving and talented."
