in Nellore territory. MBBS collected a share of 32.67 in Nellore

With a couple of days after the release of Shankar Dada MBBS
in Karnataka a handful of pirated VCDs made with camera prints
were found in Bangalore and Bellary. Chiranjeevi fans took
active support in getting the pirates to the book by complaining
to the cops.

IMAX screen at Indianapolis
Shankar Dada MBBS is the first Chiranjeevi film to be
screened in IMAX theater at Indianapolis in USA. This screening
would take place at 9:30 pm on 30th October 2004.

in USA. Chiranjeevi's Shankardada created an all time record
among Telugu films. This has broken the USA's top centers'
1 week record with just 4 shows in Virginia center. The earlier

people watched that film. This time the distributor Sridhar

Bellary and Hosepet are the first two centers where Shankardada
MBBS was released in Karnataka. The first show at Bellary
started at 4 am in Raghavendra theater on 19th October. The
theaters (Raghavendra, Nataraj & Ganga) played Shankar
Dada MBBS today. This film would release in other centers
in Karnataka very soon.

nephew Vishnav in MBBS
Chiranjeevi's nephew Vaishnav (son of eldest of his younger
sisters) acted as subject aka Ramachandra Murthy in the film
Shankar Dada MBBS. An old per person acted in Hindi version.
It was Chiranjeevi's idea to replace that person by a kid
so that it would appeal more to the ladies and kids. Chiranjeevi
wanted a guy with big eyes for that role and he could immediately
spot his nephew who has done a marvelous job.

It was Chiranjeevi who conceptualized and made the most exciting
moment of the entire film - Bewarse Walking. Chiranjeevi wanted
to break the plain narration of Shankardada entering the college
and sit in the class room. He wanted to do some thing that

conceptualized.

It is Akkineni Ravi Shankar Prasad who produced 'Shankar Dada
MBBS' on Gemini Film Circuit banner. But due to some unknown
reasons, his name is missing in poster publicity as well as
in the film's title cards. The industrywallas speculate that
it is some thing to do with the legal issue.

when the scheduled 9:30 pm charity show of Shankardada MBBS
at Hitech Theater on 14th October was rescheduled to 6 pm

of Chiranjeevi were biting their nails anticipating a repeat
of Indra premier show that happened at 9 pm a day before its
scheduled release date. But, the disappointment came in the
form of postponement. This show's tickets were sold at a rate

The exhibitors of Bellari, which is one of the most profitable
centers in Karnataka, have taken a courageous decision of
releasing a Telugu film simultaneously. This is against the
7-week moratorium on Telugu films. The local leaders and police
officers got the exhibitors and Kannada film industry officials
for truce and made an agreement that Shankar Dada MBBS could
be released on 19th of this month.

tickets were sold like hot cakes in hours of opening the advance
booking counter. This ticket hike is exclusive for Shankardada
MBBS, where as tickets for all other films are being sold
at the normal tariff of Rs. 60/-.
One
day advance in Guntur
The Superintendent of Police of Guntur held a joint meeting
with fans of Chiranjeevi and the theater management that is
releasing Shankardada MBBS today. The SP has given clear directives
not to sell tickets in black. Adequate police force is being
dispatched to the theaters playing Shankar Dada MBBS to make
sure that there is no black market for Shankar Dada MBBS film.
And the theaters would be selling tickets just a day in advance
for any show. I. E. Friday tickets would be sold on Thursday
and Saturday tickets would be sold on Friday.
Rush
for tickets in USA
There is a mad rush for Shankar Dada MBBS tickets in USA in
all six centers it is been releasing. As per the San Jose
distributor, the 8 pm show on 15th October is already sold
out. This film is releasing with 6 prints in USA, which is
an all time record.
