Gangotri - the 100th film of K Raghavendra Rao - introducing Allu Arjun and Aditi Agarwal ran for 100 days in 54 centers by making Allu Arjun the best debut hero with more than fifty 100 days centers. On this eve, the producers Allu Arvind and Aswini Dutt arranged 100 days function on 19th of July at Silpakalavedika in Madapur. Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, megastar Chiranjeevi, director Dasari Narayana Rao, Minister for Information Chandra Mohan Reddy, Parliamentarian Umareddy Venkateswarlu, Hero Venkatesh and hero Srikanth attended the function as guests.

Story behind the making of Gangotri - Allu Arvind
In the beginning of the function producer Allu Arvind said that when K Raghavendra Rao wanted to direct 100th film, they all expected K Raghavendra Rao to produce the film himself. But he called Allu Arvind and Aswini Dutt to produce a film on behalf of all the producers in the film industry. At that time, they wanted to introduce two new faces. At a party, K Raghavendra Rao saw Allu Arjun and opined that he is best suitable for the Simhadri character in Gangotri film. That's how Arjun was selected for Gangotri film incidentally.

Allu Arvind said that only two people are very lucky in the film industry. These people of NTR and Allu Ramalingaiah. The 3 generations in these vamsam's have successfully established their foothold in Telugu film industry.

For some films I take remuneration, but for some other films… - Keeravani
Keeravani said that for some films he take remuneration. But for Gangotri, it's a different story all together. Though it looks unbelievable, Keeravani said that a kid at sishuvihaar stops crying whenever 'Jeevana Vahini' song is played. Keeravani felt that this song has got some divine power in it as he has composed it in the holy city of Manthralayam. Keeravani said that Pattudala, Krushi, Manchitanam and Telivi are very important elements in anybody's growth. He attributed the growth of Dasari, Chiranjeevi, K Raghavendra Rao and Chandra Babu Naidu to the attributes of Pattudala, Krushi, Manchitanam and Telivi respectively.

Every state's citizen want Chandra Babu Naidu as their CM - Chinni Krishna
Story writer Chinni Krishna said that he went to Gangotri when he was a kid along with his mother. And his mother is the inspiration behind the Gangotri story of the film. He said that he narrated the story of Gangotri to K Raghavendra Rao when they were traveling in the train over the bridge of Godavari river. He also said that Telugu film industry is regarded as the most successful among all the Indian languages with the entrant of youth directors like Teja, Trivikram, VV Vinayak and others.

He said that he met a few IAS officers in Kerala state when he was working for Padayappa film. They were all telling Chinni Krishna that Kerala would become a better state if Chandra Babu Naidu were the CM of Kerala. He also said that he visited Waranasi and had a chat with sadhus out there. They also expressed the opinion that Chandra Babu Naidu would make the ideal CM for their state. Chinni Krishna expressed concerns about growing pollution and indifference of Government towards river Ganges and the ghats out there. He mentioned that a person called Jain has spent his personal wealth of 10 crores over cleaning of ghats in Waranasi, but that's not enough. On behalf of Jain, Chinni Krishna has submitted a project report to Chandra Babu Naidu over Waranasi and river Ganges.

Chinni Krishna ended his speech with an appeal to CM Chandra Babu Naidu to save Telugu film industry from the video piracy.

I want more consistent hits from Arjun - Allu Ramalingaiah
Allu Rama Lingaiah said that he is very happy to see Allu Arjun achieving a great success with his first film. However, he cautioned that he won't get satisfied until Allu Arjun gets more hits with good consistency.

Working with KRR is a dream come true - Srikanth
Actor Srikanth said that working in the direction of K Raghavendra Rao is a dream come true for any artist. He said that his career took a great momentum after he acted in K Raghavendra Rao's 'Pelli Sandadi'.

KRR did not even spare Annamayya - Chandra Mohan Reddy
Minister Chandra Mohan Reddy is in full humor when he delivered the speech. He said that he is a fan of K Raghavendra Rao and opined that Annamayya is the milestone in the career of KRR. He introduced successful heroines like Tabu and Ramya Krishna. He said that K Raghavendra Rao did not spare the glamour part even in films like Annamayya by putting two heroines.

Chiranjeevi is the No. 1 hero for the past 20 years
Dasari said that Chiranjeevi is the Number One hero in Telugu film industry for the past 20 years (since the time NTR entered politics) and would remain as Number One in the future too. He compared Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun to Dharmaraju, Bheemudu and Arjanudu respectively.

He appreciated that Gangotri is the genuine hit in the days where there are more TV hits (referring to the producers who show in TV ads that their films are hits though those films are flop in real). He said that he entered the film industry in 1971 and K Raghavendra Rao entered in 1974. They have been working in film industry for more than 30 years and they never had any jealous feelings towards each other.

He also mentioned that Chiranjeevi acted in his 100th film (Lankeswarudu) and his nephew acted in K Raghavendra Rao's 100th film (Gangotri). He also mentioned that there are four 100 films directors in Telugu cinema field.

At this juncture he reminded an incident that happened a couple of days back. A famous Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci came to Hyderabad. When Dasari met him, Bertolucci asked Dasari about how many films he directed. When Dasari replied 148, he was shocked and could not believe it. Bertolucci had to go to his hotel and ask other people if Dasari had directed so many films. He was in a deeper shock when somebody told him that they are 4 directors in this language who directed more than 100 films.

He also said that Allu Rama Lingaiah used to have another son called Venkateswara Rao, who had very good features to become a good artist and Allu wanted to see him as an actor. But Venkateswara Rao expired at an early age. After that Allu Arvind did a few guest roles in the film. It would be a great moment to see his grand son acting as hero. Dasari mentioned that last years in anybody's biography are more important that what one has achieved and its nice to see Allu Ramalingaiah is surrounded by mega star like Chiranjeevi, excellent producer in the form of Allu Arvind and a budding hero in the form Allu Arjun.

Dasari said that he predicted 10 years back that Keeravani would remain as the music director with Telugu nativity with his music and his prediction came true. He also mentioned that cameraman Chota K Naidu is one of the most talented cinematographers in India.

Rs 50 lakhs donation from Gangotri unit
Allu Arvind announced that his Gangotri team is donating 50 lakhs from the profits of Gangotri towards social activities. Rs 10 lakhs would be donated to CM Chandra Babu Naidu for a fund collected towards the prevention of 'medadu vaapu vyadhi' in rural areas of Andhra. A school would be constructed in AP Film Workers colony using 40 lakhs and free education would be provided for the kids of AP Film workers would be provided in that school

NTR and Chiranjeevi stood among the rest by delivering films for common man - Chandra Babu Naidu
Chandra Babu Naidu said that Telugu film industry is the number one among all Indian states. He jocularly mentioned that if good producers like Allu Arvind and Aswini Dutt start donating money to Government when they made profits, he wish that each and every film released were a hit.

Chandra Babu Naidu said that he admires Chiranjeevi for his down to earth personality He also said that he likes Chiranjeevi as he came to this position on his own without the support of anybody. He stated that Chiranjeevi would remain as Megastar forever.

He said that clean and non-violence films like Gangotri would help the society. He mentioned that Legend NTR and Chiranjeevi are the two heroes in Telugu film industry who took the Telugu cinema to the common man and masses and redefined the vale of entertainment. Chandra Babu Naidu ended his speech by saying that Government's help would be there for all clean films that preach non-violence and also gives some good message to the society.

Pawan Kalyan would give a blockbuster through his next film - Chiranjeevi
When Chiranjeevi took the mike to speak, all the fans went on rupture and asked for Pawan Kalyan. Chiranjeevi said that Pawan Kalyan is currently in Bangalore to do music sittings for his forthcoming film. Chiranjeevi assured his fans that though Johnny disappointed them, Pawan Kalyan's next film would become a big blockbuster.

Chiranjeevi said that showing heroines in a most glamorous way is a form of art and he saw it for the first time in the films of Raj Kapoor. He commended that K Raghavendra Rao is only next to Raj Kapoor when it come to showing the charms of heroines in a sensible yet commercial way. He also said that K Raghavendra Rao need not be a young man to direct youth films. With the big hit of youth love story Gangotri, K Raghavendra Rao proved that he is young at heart.

Chiranjeevi is in all praises for music director Keeravani. He opined that the songs in Gangotri would have longevity like the mooga manasulu songs. He said that Gangotri songs are much different from other songs that would only last for a season.

Chiranjeevi said that Chinni Krishna is the one of the main architects of Gangotri. With the story of Gangotri, Chinni Krishna proved that he can give faction stories (Indra) and love stories (Gangotri) with equal panache.

Chiranjeevi said that heroes would be very interested in knowing what others speak about them when they attend 100 days functions. Manavuri Pandavulu was the first 100 days film of Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi was eagerly looking in that function if somebody would speak about his performance in Manavoori Pandavulu. He was one among five heroes. One speaker told that the guy who roams on a cycle did a good job. Chiranjeevi expected somebody to prompt the speaker that his name of Chiranjeevi. When nobody responded, Chiranjeevi himself shouted from back that the guy roaming on cycle in the film was Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi said that comedy is an important gradient to do well as a hero and with the lady get-up comedy in Gangotri, Allu Arjun proved that he is very good at comedy timing. He said that there are a couple of scenes in Gangotri that showcased Allu Arjun's histrionic capabilities. Fist scene is hero crying when his father dies. The second scene is the challenging scene with Prakash Raj. Chiranjeevi also said that Allu Arjun has got very good body language, which would add to his screen presence and histrionic capabilities.

Chiranjeevi said that there is one scene in his debut film where he wore saree and donned lady get-up. Likewise, Allu Arjun also did a lady get-up episode in Gangotri. Chiranjeevi suggested Allu Arjun that Hardwork and Obedience are the two things that made him what he is and he advised that Allu Arjun should also follow the same to grow in his career.

He also commended the performance of debutant heroine Aditi Agarwal.

Chiranjeevi said that he felt little bad when he was not selected as the hero of 100th film of K Raghavendra Rao. However, he expressed his satisfaction for being a part in the 100 days function of KRR's 100th film Gangotri.

Shield presentation details
Venkatesh and Chiranjeevi gave away shields to exhibitors of Gangotri. Chandra Mohan Reddy awarded mementos to the distributors. Dasari presented shields to the technicians. Chandra Babu Naidu gave away shields to all the artists. All the guests jointed presented the shield to the director K Raghavendra Rao.

Sidelights of the function

1. Heroine Aditi Agarwal spoke in Telugu and thanked everybody for the success of Gangotri.

2. Allu Arjun spoke in chaste Telugu and impressed everybody with his obedient and sincere speech.

3. There were giggles in the auditorium when Chinni Krishna praised the governance of Chandra Babu Naidu by quoting how citizens of other states want CBN to rule their states. When Dasari came to speak, he mentioned that the praises by Chinni Krishna over CBN went little over board.

4. In a unique gesture, Dasari has requested the crowds to give a standing ovation to K Raghavendra Rao and everybody stood and clapped for KRR for few minutes.

5. Chandra Babu Naidu mentioned special thanks to Chiranjeevi at the end of the speech. He also humorously said that if he had not acknowledge Chiranjeevi in a special way, Chiranjeevi fans would not let him leave that place.

6. CBN makes sure that he says 'Jai Janmabhoomi' whenever he delivers a speech. Chandra Babu Naidu did not say 'Jai Janmabhoomi' in his speech during this function. It is not known if it was intentional or not.

7. The staff of RK Film Associates felicitated K Raghavendra Rao at the end of the function.

8. The people who got maximum applause other than Chiranjeevi were Chinni Krishna and Dasari Narayana Rao.
