MAA (Movie Artists Association) - headed by Bala Krishna Nandamuri - is going to arrange a star night on the night of 7 November at Gahibowli stadium to raise funds in favor of flood victims. Bala Krishna, Mohan Babu, Venkatesh, Rajendra Prasad, Siddhardh, NTR, Vishnu, Tarun, Kalyan Ram, Rajasekhar, Naresh, Murali Mohan, Dasari, Jamuna, Vijaya Nirmala, Murali Mohan etc attended it.

Dasari said, "AP suffered one of the worst natural calamities now. It's been a tradition for film industry to take the onus of raising funds whenever there is a crisis. NTR and ANR used to go to people seeking donations in the past for such calamities. MAA has decided to organize a star night for this purpose on the night of 7 November. I request all the artists to participate in this event and contribute in their own way."

Mohan Babu said, "We should treat it as some calamity that happened in our own family. The actors who knew about it and didn't attend this meet shouldn't be pardoned. People are our gods and all actors should participate in this event on 7 November."

Bala Krishna said, "We have to respond in our own capacity to help the people who suffered a mighty blow due to unprecedented floods. My father NTR visited all over AP to collect funds from people when there was a calamity. We want to follow his footsteps. I request all the actors to attend the function on 7th November and make it a huge success."

MAA President Murali Mohan said, "Our seniors like NTR and ANR always helped in their own style in the past during such calamities. I had a personal tragedy recently when my father expired. Hence I couldn't respond to it immediately. Bala Krishna phoned me and asked me if we could do something on behalf of MAA, I explained him about the personal tragedy. He understood it and came forward and decided to lead this program from the front. VRK Events came forward to organize this event. TV9 also came forward to help us out. MBS Jewelry gave us 50 lacs. NRIs also shown interest in donating. We will collect all the funds and will take a decision to either donate to CM's fund or adapt some of the affected villages. It costs lacs of rupees to hire Gachibowli stadium for a night. MLA Jayasudha came forward and sent an appeal to give it to us for free to the ministry of tourism. All the actors and actresses will participate and entertain us in that function. I request all of you to stop spending money on Diwali firecrackers and donate the same amount for this noble cause."
