Music of Gang Leaders, dubbed film of a Kannada hit film, was released this evening at FNCC, Hyderabad. Dubbed on Vaishnava Devi Arts banner, the film stars Prajwal, son of ace actor Devraj. Produced by K. Subramani, it is directed by Harsha with music by Mano Murthy. Kiran Batwa and Sitara are female leads. Rakshi Sawant did an item song.

The audio launch also marked the completion of 100 films by popular dialogue writer for dubbed films Bharati Babu.

TFPC president Tammareddy Bharadwaja, music director Koti, Raghu Kunche, MM Srilekha, Pragati (news reader and anchor), Bhaskarabatla, producer Srinviasa Reddy and others graced the occasion. Tammareddy formally released the music and presented the album to Bharati Babu.

Earlier, Bharati Babu was richly felicitated by the guests on behalf of the hundred producers with whom the dialogue writer had worked. He was conferred with the title of “Sahitya Bharati”, besides getting presented with a shawl and a citation. Priests chanted vedic hymns and gave ashirwachan to the dialogue writer.

Addressing the gathering, Tammareddy said: “Bharati Babu is a technician with rock solid commitment. People might think writing dialogues for a dubbed film is easier, which in fact is not. He brought a new lease of life in the area of dubbed films – both as dialogue writer and lyricist. He has the knack of penning dialogues and lyrics with incredible spontaneity. He is known for writing dialogues without disturbing the lip-sink of the artistes. Certainly, it’s a very rare thing. I want him to shine in all the other departments of filmmaking and work for straight films.”

Bharati Babu said: “I am not camera-savvy. I am thankful to all those who supported me when I relocated to Hyderabad. Since then, I did 29 films as writer. The lyric which I wrote for a film of superstar Rajnikanth – Telugu Nelapai Puttina Vanni… Apajayalu Eragani vanni – continues to inspire me. So far, I wrote 982 songs and hope to cross the 1000 mark soon. My first film as dialogue writer had Devraj as hero. Now, for this 100th film, his son Prajwal is the hero. I took every care to sound it like straight Telugu film. I look forward to take up working for straight films soon.”

Playback singer turned music director Raghu Kunche said: “I worked with Bharati Babu for 18 films. He works with his heart and holds great command in his profession.”

MM Srilekha said: “I worked for 60 films with Bharati Babu. He is one and the only person in the industry whom I can demand for more projects. His output is ever rich with grace all through.”

Bhaskarabatla said: “I can see the burning urge in Bharati Babu to search for more innovative and new trends in lyric and dialogue writing.”

Kadambari Kiran anchored the event.
