Radio Mirchi (India’s number one private FM radio network and a division of Times of India group) is conducting a 100-days blood donation drive in association with Chiranjeevi Eye and Blood bank. Radio Mirchi group arranged a press meet at Grand Kakatiya in the afternoon of 7th May.

Chiranjeevi said, “I read a news item years back when they reported that a person died due to unavailability of blood. I started Chiranjeevi Blood Bank for the sole reason of helping out people who are in dire need of blood. I also told my fans that they should come forward to save lots of lives by donating blood. Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust supplied more than 60,000 blood units so far. White card holders and other poor people would be supplied blood free of cost. But others would be charged nominal fees as it helps in maintenance of blood bank. I would like to appreciate Radio Mirchi Management for coming forward to conduct this noble deed.”

Radio Mirchi FM is going to announce the schedules of blood donation camps on its radio. This program will be completed by 22nd of August which happens to be Chiranjeevi’s birthday.

Radio Mirchi is currently available in Hyderabad on 95 FM frequency. Radio Mirchi is planning to introduce their FM service in Vijayawada and Kakinada very soon. Vineet Jain (MD, Times of India) and Parigi (MD, Radio Mirchi) also attended this event.
