Film Newscasters Association for Electronic Media (FNAEM) has organized ‘meet the press’ meet with RaNa Daggubati on the night of 26 February 2010. RaNa Daggubati praised the efforts put in electronic media to promote a clean and purposeful film like Leader. Here are the excerpts of the meet –

How do you feel about the appreciation Leader is getting?
I am really thankful to the audiences for making an alternative film like Leader a hit. Success of films like Leader paves way to films of new genres. There is always space for different movies and Leader proved it yet again.

When did you get the idea of becoming a hero?
I had always wanted to be a part of the film industry. I donned different roles as vfx company founder and producer in the past. The intent of becoming hero started around two and half years back.

Why did you pick up Leader as your debut project?
I am fortunate to be born in this family. I had offers to do roles of larger-than-life size. I deliberately chose the script of Leader because it’s an alternative movie in different genre. It’s a responsible film.

How did you manage the makeover in the past two years?
I firmly believe that anybody can do anything. All we need is training to make ourselves perfect.

What is your next movie?
I am doing a Hindi multistarrer to be directed by Rohan Sippy. I am learning guitar for that role. I will also dub for the Hindi movie as well. I am a kind of guy who wants to do one film at a time. I will do my next Telugu film after the completion of Hindi project.

You have excellent grip of dialogue delivery and diction. Are they any pouranika dream roles?
My dream is to play the role of Ghatodgaja. I absolutely love Duryodhana character. But I don’t want to do it as I genuinely feel that legend NTR is the only hero who could do justice to it.

If you have to remake any of D Rama Naidu / Venkatesh movies, which one do you prefer?
Among Rama Naidu films, I love to do Prem Nagar. Among Venkatesh’s movies, my preference would be Bobbili Raja.

Rana also delivered the famous ‘emantivi’ dialogue and got raving appreciation for it.
