Around 10 years back, actor Dr. M Prabhakara Reddy formed a team and requested then chief minister Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy to give some land to the workers of AP films. Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy granted 67 acres of land at Manikonda area (beside Nanakramguda Cine Village). Recently YS Raja Sekhar Reddy stated that he would help out the AP cine workers by giving more concessions. Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao laid foundation stone to 'Dr. M Prabhakara Reddy Chalana Chitra Karmika Chitrapuri' (colony for AP Cine workers). A statue of Dr. M Prabhakara Reddy would also be kept as an honor to him.

Dasari said that he is feeling very happy for AP Cine workers who would have permanent houses through this scheme. He cautioned the concerned authorities to allot these flats to only people who work Telugu film industry. Dasari also promised to have discussions with concerned authorities to make sure that 2000 AP Cine workers who prefer single bedroom flats would get help of Rs. 40,000/- each.

Tammareddy Bharadwaja who relentlessly fought for this housing colony said that he would complete the construction in one and half year if the members pay their installments in time.
