Hexa platinum disc function of YVS Chowdary’s blockbuster Devadas was celebrated in Odeon 70mm theater on the night of 13th June amidst huge crowds. NTR graced the occasion as the chief guest. Popular film journalists BA Raju, Mohan Goteti, Suresh Kondeti, Prabhu and Rentala Jayadev gave away shields to the unit members.

The cast and crewmembers who came to the function include Ram, Ileana, YVS Chowdary, Chakri, Chandra Bose, singer Tina Kamal and singer Simha. KL Narayana, Sagar, Dil Raju and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore also participated in the celebrations.

9 direct silver jubilee centers – YVS Chowdary
Director YVS Chowdary said, “I have taken an old story and gave new treatment in Devadasu. Hero Ram and heroine Ileana became big with this film. I worked with three music directors so far. And the biggest selling album among my films turned out to be Devadasu. Devadasu is also the biggest audio of Sankranthi season this year. Chandrabose came up with great lyrics. Audiences watched the film repeatedly for the songs. I would like to thank NTR for gracing this occasion. NTR is an energetic youngster and he gives so much inspiration to the directors with his presence. Jagadish and Bhaskar from Suresh Movie distributors helped us a lot in exploiting majority of market in Nizam. Devadasu is going to run for 175 days in 16 centers out of which 9 are direct centers.”

Music director Chakri said, “YVS Chowdary is the main reason behind the music of Devadasu. I would like to give 50% of music success credit to lyricist Chandrabose. I request everybody that we must promote Telugu singers in Telugu films. Ram and Ileana make a very good pair on screen.”

Lyricist Chandrabose thanked everybody by rendering the song – Nuvvantene Istam.

YVS Chowdary is like Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Mohan Goteti
Eenadu editor Mohan Goteti said, “Devadasu is a powerful yet a risky title. YVS Chowdary’s work reminds me of the works of Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Ram played the role of boy next door. Ileana has become the latest dream girl of Telugu audiences. Chakri’s music helped the film immensely.”

Journalist Prabhu said, “YVS has taken title Devadasu from ANR’s film and the story line from NTR’s Pathala Bhairavi. Hero and heroine gave spellbinding performance.”

Superhit magazine editor BA Raju said, “Seetayya caption Evari Mata Vinadu suits YVS Chowdary very aptly. He is the director with lots of guts. All his six films are super hits. Devadasu collections were not encouraging in the beginning and a morning show collection fell down to 5000 in Odeon 70mm. But it picked up in 4th week and went on to become a silver jubilee film. In certain centers, Devadasu was taken out after 3 weeks and again brought back to be played for 175 days. We hope that NTR will act in Bommarillu banner in the direction of YVS Chowdary very soon.”

Hero Ram thanked everybody for encouraging him.

Actress Ileana said, “Devadasu became such a huge hit because of audiences. I am thankful to YVS Chowdary for what I am today. Chakri has done a fabulous job. I am doing a film with NTR now.”

Devadasu is the only film in the history of 75-year old Telugu film industry, where a film picked up in 5th week and went on to become a silver jubilee movie. I call YVS Chowdary as Yalamanchili and he is like our family member. YVS Chowdary is a fan of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and god is with us all fans of NTR. My father Hari Krishna did amazing performance in Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo and Seetayya because YVS Chowdary knows how to present him. Executive producer Kommineni Venkateswara Rao is a great fan of legend NTR. I will be fortunate if I get an opportunity to work with YVS Chowdary. You can expect a film in our combination in future. Adigi Adagaleka is my favorite song in Devdasu film. Ram is an amazing dancer and he has a great future ahead. Ileana got lot of craze now as heroine. Ileana was the immediate choice for us when we were in Rakhi film discussions in the direction of Krishna Vamsi. I don’t talk much about my film Ashok as I am expect the film to speak for itself.”
