Akella Raghavendra (writer and erstwhile film journalist) penned a book on actor Sobhan Babu called ‘Sobhan Babu Jeevita Charitra – Parugu Aapadam O Kala’. This book was launched at a function organized in Prasad labs on the morning of 5 July. Dasari launched the book and gave the first unit to actress Jayasudha. Rasi Narasimha Rao, KV Satya Narayana and JK Bharavi were also present.

Jayasudha said, “I acted in maximum number of movies with Sobhan Babu. I am unable to digest the fact that he is no more. He is one of the reasons why i became a successful and popular actress. He used to give me Cadbury 5 star chacolates. He would have discouraged me entering politics if he were alive.”

Writer Akella Raghavendra said, “I worked hard to pen this biography of great actor Sobhan Babu. Dasari said that i would become big when i went to interview him as a film journalist. It worked like a tonic for me.”

Dasari said, “Sobhan Babu and I were close friends. We used to call each other ‘bava’. I used to tell him all my secrets which were not even known to my wife. Only Sobhan Babu resisted himself from temptation and took voluntary retirement from cinema. He has vast knowledge in finances and economics. Film actors have poor reputation of being bad financial planners. But Sobhan Babu earned a lot of property by investing money in the right avenues.”
