Sumanth's latest film '51' had its opening function on 11th August 2004 at Annapurna Studios. Soorya Kiran (of Satyam fame) directs this film. ML Kumar Chowdary produces 51 on Sri Keerthi Creations banner.

VV Vinayak gave the clap. ANR switched on the camera. Puri Jagan directed the first shot. This film is a love and action flick. Sumanth plays the role of youngster. Mukesh Khanna - a renowned Hindi film actor - is playing the role of police commissioner. Director Surya Kiran said that he is expected to make this film with Nitin as hero, but he had to start with Sumanth as hero because Nitin is engaged in other projects for the last nine months.

Music director Chakri said that he scored music for all films produced by ML Kumar Chowdary so far. He scored six tunes for 51 already. Shooting of the film started on 11th August and it would continue for the next seven days at Nanakramaguda studios.
