The team of Okkadu - 8-Nandi awards winner - met the press today to share their ecstasy. In addition to these 8 awards - 4 actors/technicians worked for this film got Nandi awards for some other films. The details of these awards are

1. Best actor in the lead role: Mahesh Babu (Nijam)
2. Best actress in the lead role: Bhumika Chawla (Missamma)
3. Best Sound Engineer: Madhusudhan Reddy (Aithe)
4. Best villain: Prakash Raj (Gangotri)
5. Best character artist: Prakash Raj (Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai)

Mahesh Babu, MS Raju, Guna Sekhar, Paruchuri brothers, Ashok Kumar, Madhusudhan Reddy and Nizam distributors attended this meet.

Speaking on this occasion Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said that around 150 people worked for Okkadu film and all of them equally deserve the critical acclaim Okkadu has got through these Nandi awards.

Director Guna Sekhar said that it is very unusual for a record-breaking box office blockbuster like Okkadu making its foray into critical acclaim by winning 8 awards of Nandi, which shows the kind of sincere hardwork put by the 24 crafts of filmmaking.

Actor Mahesh Babu jubilantly said that he is feeling very happy to have received Nandi award as the best actor for the first time. He acknowledged the hard work put by all his team members to make this happen. He thanked MS Raju and Guna Sekhar for making a film that got commercial success and critical acclaim alike. Mahesh Babu said that his father superstar Krishna never won Nandi award, even for a performance of Alluri Seetarama Raju film stature. Mahesh Babu opined that whatever performance he has given in his films so far is nothing compared to Krishna's performance in Alluri Seetaramaraju. Mahesh Babu proudly declared that his Nandi award belongs to his father Krishna.

Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said that it took them 250 films to get their first Nandi award as dialogue writers. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said that they won just 2 awards for the 300 films they worked so far.
