Platinum disc function of Jagapati Babu’s latest film ‘Swagatam’ was organized on the night of 12 February at Ravi Narayana Reddy auditorium on the eve of Jagapati Babu’s birthday. VV Vinayak and Rajamouli attended this function as chief guests. The other invitees include Jagapati Babu, Arjun, Bhumika Chawla, Dasarath, Aditya Ram, RP Patnaik, Umesh Gupta, Sunil, Mallikharjun, Benerjee, Sudarshan, Gowtam Raju, Sakti Ramesh, Kalamandir Kalyan, Ali and Gopi Mohan.

Winners of Radio Mirchi contests gave away shields and posed questions on Swagatam film to the cast and crewmembers.

VV Vinayak said, “The marriage episode of Jagapati Babu is handled in a novel way. The film is made on rich scale and I am happy for Dasarath.”

Jagapati Babu is setting new trend - Rajamouli
Rajamouli said, “I generally look for pleasantly shocking episodes in films. One such scene is the one where Bhumika turns down the girl selected by Jagapati Babu. It is a wonderful script and Dasaraths work is great. I want to see Jagapati Babu in Gayam and Anthapuram kind of roles. His work in Lakshyam film is tremendous and he created a new trend with that film.”

Collections picked up in the 3rd week - Jagapati Babu
Jagapati Babu said, “I came to the industry 20 years back and my 75th film is just released. I would like to thank Rajamouli and VV Vinayak who graced this function. I was disappointed that though the film generated good talk, collections were not encouraging enough. I decided to quit making family movies on Wednesday. And surprisingly the collections improved from that day. This film joins the lists of my films that picked up in the 3rd week. I am very confident that Swagatam will run for 100 days. Arjun worked for 20 days for this film for the sake of friendship without charging a penny. Bhumika Chawla is very professional and prolific.”

Jagapati Babu cut the birthday cake on this occasion.
