Sushant – grandson of ANR and PAP Subba Rao, son of Naga Susheela and nephew of Nagarjuna – is being launched as hero with a film titled ‘Kalidasu’. ANR and Nagarjuna jointly introduced Sushant to the press and media today evening at a press meet held on Annapurna studios.

Sushant should work hard and prove himself - ANR
Speaking on the occasion ANR said, “Sushant’s other grandfather PAP Subba Rao was a great producer. I acted in 15 films produced by him. And my second daughter married his only son. I feel that acting is does not come as hereditary. One should have something inside them to become an actor. The background of us will help them to launch. But once he is launched, it is his talent that would take him to great heights. Everybody ridiculed me when I was offered Devadasu. Sushant will also face that resistance in the beginning of his career. At one point of time they told that I could only do folklore films and I would be unfit for social films. I was charging 23000 rupees as remuneration for Keelu Gurram film. I brought my remuneration down to 7000 rupees to accept a social film called ‘Samsaram’. I feel that Sushant should work hard and prove himself.”

Sushant loves mass roles - Nagarjuna
Nagarjuna said, “Annapurna studios always encouraged new talent in terms of actors and technicians. Likewise Sushant too is being introduced just because of his talent, not because he is a relative to us. Sushant always wanted to be an actor since his childhood. He loves mass roles. I am confident that he would become a success.”

In a humble reply Sushant said, “I will work hard. I did my best for my debut film Kalidasu. I am waiting for the response of movie lovers once the film is released.”

This function is also attended by the producers Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao and Naga Suseela.
