Cheran who produced and directed a classic like Autograph (Tamil) is producing a film in Tamil as his second production venture. This film introduces Vijay Milton who is basically a cinematographer. Bharat and Mallika Kapoor play main leads in this film ‘Maha’ which is supposed to be a love story. Yuan Shankar Raja provides music. This film is being dubbed and simultaneously released by a debutant producer named Bunny Vasu on New Entertainment banner.
Puja ceremony of this film was held at Annapurna studios today morning. Allu Arvind, KS Rama Rao, Tagore Madhu and Dil Raju were invited as guests.
Introducing Bunny Vasu to the media, Allu Arvind said, “The producers of this film Bunny Vasu, Maruthi and Sumanth are very close me. Though a computer graduate Vasu has passion for films and my son introduced him to me. He joined Arya team and proved his mettle. After looking at his dedication we started encouraging him by involving him with all of Bunny’s projects. He also started a distribution outlet in Guntur and distributed 10 films so far out of which 9 films are blockbusters. He started New Entertainments banner and producing Maha as the first venture. I wish him all the best.”
Cheran said, “This film is my second film as producer. Vijay Milton helped me with Autograph film. During that time, he narrated this script to me. Basically my films are of serious type. This script is a complete entertainer. I wanted to encourage new comers in my production house. I am planning to make straight film in Telugu soon. We are planning to release this film simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil on 14th of April 2006”
Director Vijay Milton said, “I worked for 14 films as cinematographer. There are six songs in this musical and all songs are going to be situational. We finished the shoot a couple of days back. This film is a screenplay oriented film. I would like to thank Cheran for giving us this opportunity.”
Heroine Mallika Kapoor said that she is a Bombay-based actress and she is playing the role of a playful girl with different shades.
The producers Maruthi and Sumanth who acted as executive producers for A film by Arvind and Premiste spoke at this event.
