The new and untitled movie, starring Raja and Maharashtra girl Theertha, is launched on Thursday (July 17th) at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Made on Sravya Films banner as Production No. 5, the film is produced by K. Basireddy (of Digiquest) and Y. Ravindra Babu. Director is Sunilkumar Reddy. The heroine is a student of the Film and TV Institute of India (FTI), Pune. Cinematographer Sahu James is a professor in FTI. Music is by Saketh Sairam. After performing puja, producer Basireddy handed over the script to the director and later both posed for the muhurt shot. The other cast includes LB Sriram, Tannikella Bharani, Jeeva, Jayaprakash Reddy, Swetha and MS Narayana. Gandham Nagaraju, who wrote dialogues for Krishh’s Gamyam, is roped in for this film.
Tannikella Bharani said that the film has a unique subject. Raja will get a good elevation as an actor with this film. It is an intense film with lots of entertainment. LB Sriram also got a very good role, which he has not done before. Though I do a regular role, I try my level best to show some distinctness in my role.
Producer Basi Reddy said: “We are going for optimal utilization of the film technology for this film. I am happy that we are doing a good film with busy hero like Raja. Heroine Theertha is brought form Pune’s FTI. She is a thorough professional and knows how to live in a character given to her. With this film, the girl is going to make a lasting impression on the audience. Music by Saketh Sairam and cinematography by Sahu James are big assets to our film. Director Sunilkumar Reddy is a good friend of mine and I ever see the urge in him to make good films.”
Hero Raja said: “The film is a big challenge to me. I am doing a role, which is akin to some of the best roles ever played by a Kamal Hassan or Rajendra Prasad. I am thrilled to do this role, which I could get within a short span of my career. Definitely, my character will invite big criticism after the film releases. I am also happy that my heroine Theertha is a professional artiste, having rich experience in FTI. Unlike our regular heroines, she gives big importance not only to her role, but the entire film and its subject. She tries her level best to touch the depths of the character. I wish her all the best and a brilliant future in Telugu.”
Director Sunilkumar Reddy said: “I am confident that this film will stand as one of the best films shot this year. I selected Raja as hero because he holds distinctive innocence in his eyes. I too want such a hero. Heroine Theertha is a perfect match for Raja in this film. If I could get at least fifty percent of the performance from them, the film is going to become a big hit. Regular shoot will commence form tomorrow and will be finished in September. Release is planned in October or November.”
Heroine Theertha said: “I am from Mumbai. I look forward to a bright future in Tollywood. I look at cinema professionally and I will try to bring full justice to the role which I would do.”
Cinematographer Sahu James said: “Most part of the film would be shot in the village backdrop. The village itself becomes a subject in the film. The flora and fauna surrounding the village will be given an excellent treat.”
