Shankar is producing a Tamil film titled Veyyil. This film is being dubbed and simultaneously released in Telugu as ‘Vesavi’. N Suryaprakasa Rao is producing this film in Telugu in association with Suresh Kondeti.
Speaking on the occasion producer N Suryaprakasa Rao said, “Shankar who directed ultimate blockbusters like Gentleman, Oke Okkadu, Bharateeyudu and Aparichitudu is producing this film by introducing his protégé Vasanthabalan as hero. Though there is high competition for this remake rights, Suresh Kondeti made sure that we got them. Shankar produced two films in the past Kadhal (Premiste in Telugu) and 23va Pulakesi. Both these films are blockbusters. We are expected his third film Vesavi too be a hit. Prakash - nephew of AR Rehman - composed music. Bharat, Bhavana, Pasupathi and Sriya Reddy did main leads in this film. Veturi is penning lyrics and Sri Ramakishna writes dialogues.”
Suresh Kondeti said, “We released Premiste film on 12 October last year. Incidentally we bought the remake rights of this film too on 12 October 2006. I am confident that Vesavi too become another blockbuster like Shankar-Bharat combination film Premiste.”
Writer Sri Ramakrishna said, “This film deals with the relationship between two brothers played by Bharat and Pasupathi. 18 year old youngster GV Prakash is making his debut as music director with this film. Vesavi is a tender love story.”
