October 29, 2009

Calling it road trip – it’s about celebrating the success of the music of village lo vinayakudu. The music album is on the way to being single largest selling album for the year; we have sold over 78,000 copies and given away around 17,500 copies already.

We started from Hyderabad at around 10. Pm 27 October, Krishnudu, Sai kiran (director), Mahi (producer), Vijay (production designer), Anand Ravi, sashi and the crew.

I was a bit nervous how the response from the public and the media would be, this kind of event was never done before, tolloywood has success tours to celebrate the success of the movie (which is normally post release).

We reached vizag on 28 October 09, kicked of the road trip by stopping by at the beach road, we stood there with few CDs giving away to the passer bys and crowd gathered in no time, they cheered and shouted “ vinayakudu “, few shook hands, told that they liked the vinayakudu movie and couple of them told they liked the song neelimega in village lo vinayakudu. The first stop gave me a lot of confidence and we moved on

We had a press conference at Meraux animation studio, Vishakhapatnam our partners who contributed the 4 minutes animation; the press meet was attended by all the major, print & electronic.

Vizag we stopped at the theatre kinnera where our movie is to be released, we put up the standees, addressed a small press gathering gave way more CDS the crow near the theatre.

With lunch at the dhabha on the highway and on time we reached Rajahmundry. Reached Asoka theatre 6.30 pm, had a press meet and stopped by at various places to give away CDs.

At the end we where all tired and on our way to Vijayawada.

End of The first day - had no doubts about the road trip.

Thank you Vishakhapatnam and Rajahmundry.

- Mahi (producer)
