Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is the wrong director in the wrong industry. He has directed cult classics like Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju which have got great appreciation from passionate movie lovers, but couldn’t catch up with an average moviegoer. He has made Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju films even before the first multiplex in Hyderabad was opened. His first mass film Okkadunnadu dealt with the unique concept of villain looking for hero’s rare blood group for heart transplantation. His last film Prayanam is like a romantic comic book in motion.

Here are a couple of examples why Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is ahead of times and how he thinks like a Hollywood director -

1. Anukokunda Oka Roju (2005): The concept of the film is about heroine consuming DRD (Date Rape Drug) and forgetting what happened on that night. The entire movie revolves around recollecting and joining jigsaw puzzle of the night. Hugely successful Hangover (2009) film which was released four years later featured a similar concept and went on to become a huge blockbuster resulting in two sequels to it.

2. Okkadunnadu (2007): The concept of the film is about villain looking for hero with a rare blood group so that he can use hero’s heart for transplantation. Get the Gringo (2012) released 5 years later has a similar concept and features liver transplantation.

In an interview to idlebrain.com in the past, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti said that most of Telugu film directors can match the brilliance of Hollywood film directors. But our target audiences and market don’t allow our filmmakers to go beyond certain boundaries.

It is learnt that Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s 12 July release Sahasam - an adventure action film will neither have an intelligent screenplay nor unexpected twists. It will have a straightforward narration. However, Sahasam is said to be entertaining and engaging throughout.
