In the music launch event of Fidaa, director Sekhar Kammula compared the chemistry between lead pair of Fidaa (Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi) to that of Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika in Kushi. He has also said that heroine Sai Pallavi plays the role of a Pawan Kalyan’s fan. Sekhar also insisted that the lover boy character of Varun Tej will remind us of Balu character played by Pawan Kalyan in Toli Prema film. Going by the way the makers are talking, we can expect a lot of references to Pawan Kalyan in this movie. This is the fourth film of the year coming from stable of Dil Raju after hit films Shatamanambhavati, Nenu Local and Duvvada Jagannadham. Sekhar Kammula has taken a lot of gap after the debacle of Anamika (Telugu remake of Hindi film Kahaani) to make a film of his favorite genre. His last film Anamika was released 3 years back in 2014.
