"An unexpected turn of events led this "wannabe copywriter" to make a mark in films. Chandini Tamilarasan placed as third runner up and Miss Photogenic in the Miss Chennai competition and films was the natural next step. She was introduced by the legendary director (former actor) Bhagyaraj, in his son's debut movie "Sidhu plus 2". Chandini is very conscious about which projects she takes up. She loves studying and is currently pursuing a course in visual communications.

When asked about her homework for Kaalicharan, she says she spent a lot of time talking to her parents about their experiences in the '80s. She relied on their stories to bring in the original and natural look of her character. She says the most exciting aspect of Teertha, the character she plays, is that "the character is so perfect, that you would love to see her in real life!" Nothing beats the euphoria of being someone else on screen who is completely not you, she adds.
