Maruthi who is known as economical filmmaker has shot Ee Rojullo, Busstop and Prema Katha Chithram in 42, 50 and 58 working days respectively. He has taken 72 working days to shoot Kotha Janta film. Shooting of this film was started on 2nd August and was wrapped up on 12 January. The postproduction work is going on. The makers have initially planned for Valentines Day release, but decided to take more time and go for summer release.

Allu Sirish who made his debut with a serious film Gouravam has changed his looks and body language to play a fun romantic comedy - Kotha Janta. Regina Cassandra is playing female lead. Madhurima is doing a guest role and the remix of Chiranjeevi’s ‘atu amalapuram’ song has already become popular.

JB is providing music and Richards Prasad (Swamy Rara fame) provides cinematography. Sai Kumar Pampana (Ee Rojullo fame), Saptagiri and Praveen are doing entertainment oriented roles. Bunny Vaas who has proved his mettle with 100% Love is producing this movie on Geetha Arts banner. Allu Arvind presents this movie.
