The character played by Rahul Dev in this film is Gandi Babji. Incidentally, there is an Ex MLA called Gandi Babji who represents Paravada constituency (Visakhapatnam). Gandi Babji has strongly objected to the same and demanded the ban of the movie. VV Vinayak who is known as a non-controversial director said that it was just a pure coincidence and he has no intentions of hurting anybody. He apologized for the inconvenience caused.
