1st Indian full length Indian feature film Raja Harishchandra completes 100 years today (May 3, 2013). Raja Harishchandra was released on May 3, 1913. It was directed by Dadasaheb Phalke who is considered as the father of Indian Cinema. It was a silent film and duration of the film was 40 minutes. It was in four reels.
Only one print was made and exhibited in a single theater Coronation Cinema Hall, Goregaon. This film was initially premiered on 21 April 1913 at the Olympia Theatre, Grant Road and public release was on 3rd May.
