Star Maa, the number 1 channel of Telugu people, has reached out to those in the TV industry affected by the pandemic-induced lockdown. In a noble gesture, the channel has donated Rs 55 lakh in philanthropy towards the welfare of more than 500 members working in technical and non-technical crafts.

The monetary outgo will serve art assistants, production staff, assistants to artists, freelancers, and technicians associated with the TV industry.

More than 500 people working on TV serials and programs will receive Rs 10,000 each. Due to the lockdown since March, they have had no work for nearly two months. Daily wage workers will also benefit from the donation.
