It looks like director Venkatesh Maha finds his inspiration in small towns and simple characters. After C/o Kancharapalem, he again takes us into the world away from urban life where we see simple and real characters going through life as we know it with Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya.
The newly released teaser of the film that stars Satyadev Kancharana in the lead surely makes it feel like we are in for a fresh approach to story telling.
For anyone who has seen the original Maheshinte Prathikaram, one thing that will strike is Fahaadh Faasil's acting which can be hard to match but Satyadev pulls it off quite well, bringing an air of innocence into his performance.
What's more, the teaser in itself is inspired by the teaser of the original but makes a value addition with its unique changes that work perfectly. For a person who hasn't seen the original, this might click just for how earnest the attempt is!
All in all, it's also a big deal that the producers of Baahubali took a long while after the blockbuster films to choose this one as their next. Will it work or not, time will tell.
