CAPITOL AREA TELUGU SOCIETY [రాజధాని ప్రాంతీయ తెలుగు సంఘం ] WASHINGTON.D.C వారి 2014 శ్రీ జయ నామ ఉగాది సంబరాలు అంబరాన్నంటాయి. ఈ ఈవెంట్ CATS అధ్యక్షులు శ్రీ మధుసూదన్ కోలా గారి అధ్యక్షతన , ట్రస్టీలు శ్రీ చిత్తరంజన్ నల్లు, శ్రీ రామ్మోహన్ కొండ గారి పర్యవేక్షణలో, వైస్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ శ్రీ ప్రవీణ్ కాటంగూరి, కార్యదర్శులు శ్రీ భాస్కర్ బొమ్మారెడ్డి, శ్రీ సత్యజిత్ మరెడ్డి గార్ల అధ్వర్యంలో కల్చరల్ సెక్రటరీ శ్రీమతి సుధారాణి కొండపు, జాయింట్ కల్చరల్ సెక్రటరీ శ్రీ గోపాల్ నున్నా గార్ల చక్కటి సమన్వయంతో శ్రీ జయ నామ ఉగాది సంబరాలు Seneca Valley High School, Germantown, Maryland లో ఘనంగా జరిగాయి. ఈ ఉగాది సంబరాలకి స్తానిక కళాకారులైన పిల్లలు, పెద్దలు 250 మందికి పైగా పాల్గొని వారి ప్రదర్శనలతో విశేషంగా తరలి వచ్చిన ఆహుతులను ఆకట్టుకున్నారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ఇండియా నుండి విచ్చేసిన ప్రముఖ గాయనీ గాయకులు హేమ చంద్ర & శ్రావణ భార్గవి ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలిచారు. వారి గానామృతంతో అందరిని ఉర్రూతలూగించారు. వారిద్దరి సమన్వయంలో చక్కటి తెలుగు పాటల ఉగాది రుచుల మేళవింపుతో శ్రోతలను అలరించారు. పెద్దలు, చిన్నారులు అందరూ కేరింతలతో స్టేజి పైన సింగర్స్ తో చిందులెశారు. ఈ సందర్బంగా CATS సంస్థ వారు ఏర్పాటు చేసిన స్థానిక కళాకారుల సాంస్కృతిక ప్రదర్శనలు చాల ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. శాస్త్రీయ సంగీత మరియు సినీ సంగీత కార్యక్రమాలు ఒక అచ్చ తెలుగు సాంప్రదాయ వాతావరణాన్ని ప్రతిబింబించాయి. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి వ్యాఖ్యాతలుగా వ్యవహరించిన శ్రీ సాయికాంత రాపర్ల మరియు CATS మన బడి చిన్నారుల వ్యాఖ్యానాలు అందరిని విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి.

ముఖ్య అతిధి గా Maryland డిస్ట్రిక్ట్ డెలిగేట్ తెలుగు వనిత స్థానిక వాస్తవ్యులు శ్రీ అరుణ మిల్లర్ గారు విచ్చేసి తన సంతోషాన్ని తోటి తెలుగు వారందరితో పంచుకున్నారు. అమెరికాలో తెలుగు వారి అబివృద్దిని, సాధిస్తున్నప్రగతిని కొనియాడుతూ స్థానిక పాలిటిక్స్ లో ప్రవాసాంద్రులు రావాల్సిన ఆవశ్యకత గురించి ప్రస్తావిస్తూ CATS సంస్థ వారు ఆ దిశలో కల్పిస్తున్న ప్రోత్సాహాన్ని కొనియాడారు.

ఈ ఈవెంట్ కి సుమారు 1300 మందికి పైగా స్తానికంగా Washington DC మెట్రో ఏరియాలో నివసిస్తున్న తెలుగు వారు హాజరైనారు. సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలు జ్యోతిప్రజ్వనలతో సాయంత్రం 6:00కు ప్రారంభమై రాత్రి 11:30 వరకు జరిగాయి. విశేషమేమంటే పిల్లలు పెద్దలు అందరు అన్ని కార్యక్రమాలు ముగిసే వరకు ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తూనే ఉన్నారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి విచ్చేసిన వారందరు పసందైన విందు భోజనం గురించి, కార్యక్రమాల క్వాలిటీ గురించి, సంస్థ వారి నిర్వహణ గురించి గొప్పగా చెప్పుకోవడం విశేషం. అంతె కాకుండా CATS ట్రస్టీ శ్రీ బద్రి చల్లా మరియు నూతన కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులైన శ్రీ రవి బొజ్జ, ట్రెజరర్; శ్రీ అనిల్ నందికొండ, జాయింట్ ట్రెజరర్; శ్రీ అమర్ బొజ్జ, డైరెక్టర్ బిజినెస్ & పొలిటికల్ అఫైర్స్; శ్రీ సోమేశ్వర్ శర్విరాల, డైరెక్టర్ మీడియా సర్వీసెస్; శ్రీ వెంకట్ గుండా, జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్ మీడియా సర్వీసెస్; శ్రీ గౌడ్ రాంపురం, డైరెక్టర్ మనబడి; శ్రీ పవన్ కొండపల్లి, డైరెక్టర్ స్పోర్ట్స్; శ్రీ సుభాష్ సొమరౌతు, డైరెక్టర్ స్పోర్ట్స్; శ్రీ హరి కంచర్ల, జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్ స్పోర్ట్స్; శ్రీ హరీష్ కొండమడుగు, డైరెక్టర్ చారిటి కమ్యూనిటి సర్వీసెస్; శ్రీ కృష్ణ కటకం, జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్ చారిటి కమ్యూనిటి సర్వీసెస్; శ్రీ రాజి రెడ్డి, జాయింట్ డైరెక్టర్ చారిటి కమ్యూనిటి సర్వీసెస్; శ్రీమతి క్లియోనా మద్దల, డైరెక్టర్ ఉమెన్ ఎమ్పవర్మెంట్; శ్రీమతి మమత డొంకెన, డైరెక్టర్ ఉమెన్ ఎమ్పవర్మెంట్; శ్రీ సురేష్ బోనం, డైరెక్టర్ వెబ్ సర్వీసెస్ లను సభాముఖంగా పరిచయం చేశారు. ఇంకా సంస్థకి పని చేసిన పూర్వ కార్యవర్గ సభ్యుల సేవలను CATS ప్రెసిడెంట్ శ్రీ మధుసూదన్ కోలా గారు కొనియాడారు. ముఖ్యంగా CATS పూర్వ ప్రెసిడెంట్ శ్రీ భువనేశ్ బుజాల మరియు పూర్వ కల్చరల్ సెక్రటరీ శ్రీమతి శ్రీలేఖ పల్లె గారి సేవలను సభా ముఖంగా అభినందించారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమం ఘనంగ జరగడానికి కృషి చేసిన CATS నూతన కార్యవర్గ సభ్యులు, ట్రస్టీలు, ఇతర వాలంటీర్స్ మరియు దాతలకు అందరికి CATS ప్రెసిడెంట్ శ్రీ మధుసూదన్ కోలా గారు ప్రత్యెక అభినందనలు తెలియజేశారు. చివరగా వందన సమర్పణతో జాతీయ గీతాన్ని ఆలపిస్తూ 2014 ఉగాది సంబరాలను ముగించారు.

Washington DC: CATS 2014 Ugadi Celebrations in grandeur

Washington DC, Apr 26: Capitol Area Telugu Society (CATS) celebrated Jaya Nama Ugadi on April 26, 2014 in Germantown, Maryland on a beautiful summer evening.

The event started with Panchanga Sravanam followed by Classical, Folk, Movie Medley’s performed by more than 250 talented children from the D.C Metro Area

Ms. Aruna Miller, Member of Maryland House of Delegates, was the Chief Guest at the Event. She is the first Telugu origin person to be elected to the House of Delegates in United States.

Delegate Miller addressed the audience and informed that Telugu folks are setting high standards in every field citing the names of Nina Davuluri - Miss America 2014, Satya Nadella - CEO of Microsoft & Arvind Mahankali - Spelling Bee champion. She mentioned that Maryland Governor Martin O' Malley was instrumental in making Andhra Pradesh as a Sister State and also proclaimed the first Saturday in November as Diwali Day. Mrs. Miller said this would not have been possible without the efforts of CATS Trustee Mr. Ram Mohan Konda. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is now pursuing to make Hyderabad as a sister city and asked all the Telugu people living in Maryland for their support. Sister relationships are the only international partnership agreements that link local governments, involve people, and organized groups at all levels of society in personal, citizen diplomacy with the hope that people-to-people interaction, fostered through sister city affiliations, will improve international relations.

CATS President Mr. Madhusudhan Reddi Kola gave the organizational speech and introduced the newly formed committee Praveen Katanguri, Bhasker Bommareddy, Mrs. Sudharani Kondapu, Ravi Bojja, Gopal Nunna, Satyajit Mareddy, Anil Reddy Nandikonda, Someswar Sharvirala, Venkat Gunda, Goud Rampuram, Pavan Kondapalli, Kiran Meegada, Hari Kancherla, Subash Somarouthu, Harish Kondamadugu, Krishna Katakam, Raji Reddy, Cleona Maddala, Mamata Donkena, Amarender Reddy Bojja, Suresh Bonam and Master of Ceremony for the program was Mrs. Saikantha Raparala. Trustees Badrinath Challa, Mrs. Laxmi Babu, Mr. Chittaranjan Nallu and Mr. Ram Mohan Konda. Mr. Kola thanked the committee members & all the dedicated volunteers for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success and media partners for their continuous support.

More than 1300+ people who were eagerly waiting and thoroughly entertained by the Celebrity Singers. Kids were enthralled and enjoyed thoroughly. Celebrity Singer Couple Hemachandra & Sravana Bhargavi interacted with the audience of all ages and ensured they were part of the fun.

Overall, it was a memorable evening. CATS team felicitated the singers with a plaque & concluded with a Thank You Note from Vice President Pravin Katanguri to all sponsors, participants and attendees. Indian National Anthem was sung by Singers Hemachandra, Sravana Bhargavi along with audience and the committee members of Capitol Area Telugu Society.
