North America Telugu Society (NATS), Premier National Telugu Organization which is always in the forefront to help Telugu Community donated 52 lakh rupees to Abhinay Reddy Nyalakonda’s family, who died in June when he drowned in a swimming pool in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Abhinay has been a very bright student and was scheduled to graduate this December from Indiana State University. He hails from a poor agricultural family in Karimnagar district and his family is deeply affected by this tragedy. When the incident happened, Abhinay Reddy’s friends called NATS helpline (1-888-4-Telugu) and NATS Indianapolis Coordinator Dilip Vadlamudi helped in moving Abhinay’s dead body to India. NATS reached out to the community to help Abhinay Reddy’s family and several people stepped in and showered their support to the cause.

NATS donated 52 lakhs rupees LIC Bonds to Abhinay Reddy’s family and these have been handed over by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr.Nara Chandrababu Naidu to Abhinay Reddy’s parents and sisters, these 52 lakh rupees will eventually mature into 1 crore rupees.

Abhinay Reddy’s parents thanked NATS and all donors for their generosity and expressed their gratitude and mentioned that this would be a great help to their devastated family.

A Team of around 50 NATS delegates met Mr.Chandrababu Naidu and on this occasion, Mr.Nara Chandra Babu Naidu appreciated this help from NATS and lauded NATS efforts. He praised NATS service initiatives and congratulated NATS for being the first Indian organization to start a 24 Hours helpline (1-888-4-Telugu) and also for running a free clinic. NATS cordially invited Mr.Chandrababu Naidu to next NATS biennial convention which will be held in July 2013 in Los Angeles, California and Mr.Chandrababu Naidu kindly accepted the invitation.

NATS President Gangadhar Desu, NATS Ex President Ravi Madala, NATS Vice President Ravi Achanta, NATS BOD Srinivas Maddali, NATS BOD Vimal Kavuru, NATS BOD Chakradhar Voleti, NATS BOD Butchaiah Kondragunta, NATS BOD Rajendra Appalaneni, NATS Chairs Dr.Purna Atluri, Srihari Mandadi, Ramana Koganti, Vijay Bhaskar Nekkanti, Hari Konka, Shyam Nalam, Datta Sirigiri, Kishore Thammineedi, Bala Voleti etc met Sri Chandrababu Naidu.

NATS India Coordinator, Ex-Minister and TDP MLA Mr.Alapati Rajendra Prasad coordinated the effort. NATS India Team – Alapati Rajendra Prasad, N.T.Chowdary, Rateesh Adusumilli, Gopi Achanta and Kota Prasanna also accompanied NATS U.S. team to meet Sri Chandrababu Naidu.

NATS, which is always in the forefront to help the needy people helped the following families in the recent past – Archana Gambiraopet (40 thousand dollars), Lakshman Dusa (25 thousand dollars), Baby Harshita(50 thousand dollars), Vattikuti Venkata Ramana (20 thousand dollars) etc. This was possible due to people’s enormous faith in NATS and they offered their help and support to the needy people through NATS. NATS is currently helping Gopi Krishna Lingamgunta’s family. Unfortunately Gopi Krishna passed away recently due to sudden cardiac arrest and he is survived by his house wife and 2 small kids.
