Telangana Cultural Association, a US based Telugu cultural organization, dedicated for preserving and promoting Telangana Culture globally, successfully organized Vana Bhojanalu (Picnic) at Ed Levin Park, Milpitas, California, on June 14th, 2015. More than 600 people, including kids, adults, and grandparents attended this whole day event.

Ed Levin Park is located in the Chaparral foothills of diablo range, east of the Santa Clara valley, in a corner of Silicon Valley, California. The 1,541 acre park is unique with mixed features of a traditional urban park and wilderness parks. The park has areas for picnicking, family outings, fishing and play areas and many complex trails for hiking.

On this June Sunday the park came alive with huge turnout of people, joining the event to spend their Sunday and participate in the festivities, and taste the yummy Telangana dishes. TCA got Sakinalu shipped from India for the event which were relished by all. Many participants got their own ingredients to cook and share delicious Telangana recipes.

The live sarvapindi stations in the park were arranged by “Events by Anu” team, which stood as star attraction of the event as crowds formed long lines to get a taste of Telangana signature dish. Other mouth watering dishes arranged by TCA included Patchipulusu, Ghatka, and Hyderabad Biryani.

Janapadam by Srinivas Manapragada kept the crowds engaged. TCA vice president, Uday Jonnala ensured everybody participated in well known Telangana games like Pitchi Banti, KhoKho, Goli Kayalu, Tokkudu Billa, Teer Race, Bisthi, Kabaddi. These fun filled games brought back memories of child hood for many and well supported by Mrs Sumana Rao.

Abhilash Rangineni led the food effort and made excellent arrangements with a team of young volunteers and supported by Ramesh Thangellapallyi.

TCA launched "TCA-Mission Kakatiya" fund raising event and kick started Summer fund raising project for Mission Kakatiya. There were lot of kids interested in fund raising for Mission Kakatiya.

Milpitas Mayor Jose Estevez ensured that he did not miss this fun filled event. Other attendees included TCA Executive Members Vijay Chawa, Chandrakala Siramdas, Bhasker Maddi, Praveen Thokala.

The whole event would not have been successful without the dedication of key people including Jagan Bearelly, Vinoy Mayreddy, Ramesh Thangellapalli, Biksham Palabindela,Vijay Chawa, Praveen Thokala, Uday Jonnala, Srinivas Manapragada,Abhilash Rangineni and others during planning and execution phase, Mrs Sumana Rao and others also helped in organizing the whole cultural programs. TATA, the US national Telugu organization supported the event and for its success.
