Second Half report from Ananthapur

9:30 am, 25th September 2002

First half of the film is slow. Second half is decent. Over all, the CKR film is not up to the expectations of fans in Ongole. Emotional scenes in second half are good. The best part of the film is helicopter chase followed by climax, which lasts for 20 minutes. The Ongole fans feel that movie would be a hit.

Second Half report from Ananthapur

9:00 am, 25th September 2002

Second half of the film is excellent, as per Ananthapur report. Here are the features ...

1. All emotional scenes are good.
2. Excellent Chase in second half (best ever screened on Telugu cinema)
3. Two scenes by Devayani (who acted as CKR'sister) are very good
4. Weakest song of the film 4th song - 'ye pilla'
5. Fifth song - Nee koppulo (with Tabu) - is a masala song for masses.
6. There is a good slot for telupu telupu song before climax in the film.
7. Forced comedy in second half
8. There are lots of twists and turn in second half and each scene is gripping
9. This movie is based on tight screenplay rather than powerful punch dialogues (Balayya coming out of dialogue-orientation syndrome)
10. After the climax of the film CKR is jailed. Junior Balayya leaves his cop dress back and wear khaddar shirt to replace the CKR crown in Pulivendula.

Fans are very much satisfied with the film. First half is good and second half is excellent. Three songs are very good (Don't Care, Hayi Hayi and Nee Koppulo). The over all prediction is that it's a 100 days film, which would become a big hit. It might not create industry record!

Administration dampens fan's spirits

24th September 2002

The police and administration of AP are dampening the spirits of Balayya fans by making it mandatory that the tickets should be sold at regular prices and only four shows should be exhibited per day for Chenna Kesava Reddy.

In Vijayawada today, the police tore 70 banners of CKR at Alankar Theater. The ACP entered the premises of theater at 7:30 pm and took away all the tickets of morning show so that they can be sold at regular prices in the counter. CKR is releasing in Vijayawada in five theaters - Alankar, Annapurna, Raj Kumari (one town), Vinayak (Gunadala) and Ram Priya (Poranki).

The situation is worse in Ceded area. Thousands of tickets are sold at a flat rates of Rs 200/- and Rs 300/-. Now the local administration authorities have placed big notices claiming that the tickets brought by public so far are invalid and one has to buy tickets for 25th September by standing in the queues an hour before the show.

There are not going to be any midnight shows for CKR. The first show might happen at 5 am or 8 am in few areas. Bala Krishna fans are very much disappointed with the turn of events. More news later!
