Indra creates havoc at Guntur

Chiranjeevi's Indra was released in five theaters in Guntur namely Naz Deluxe, Naz Apsara, Saraswati, Harihar Mahal and Little Krishna (morning show only). Mr. Seetaramanjaneyudu, the Superintendent of Police for Guntur, is taking every possible step to make sure that tickets are not sold in black. He fixed up a rate of Rs 358/- per constable per day. The theater owner has to pay the amount to police department before hiring police constables. To normalize the crowds the tickets were sold at six theaters namely Naz complex, Harihar Mahal, Saraswati, Radha Krishna and Pallavi Deluxe. The queue for the first day is extended till the railway station from Naz complex. The tickets for three days have been sold on day one.

But the SP got complaints that the police constables themselves are selling tickets in black. Hence, he cancelled the advanced booking system and decided that tickets would be given an hour before show time from 4th day onwards. The overjoyed Chiranjeevi fans fired crackers worth Rs 10,000/- at Harihar Mahal. It is also learnt that the producer hired the second theater Harihar Mahal for 50 days. In places like Mangalagiri (Vijaya and Gopala Krishna) and Narsarao pet (eswar mahal and chitralaya), Indra is released in adjacent theaters. In placed like Chilakaluripet and Ongole, the film Jayam in replaced by Indra in Srinivasa Theater and Srinivasa Theater respectively.

In Tenali, Chinni Krishna had a field day on 23rd July. Tenali is the hometown of storywriter Chinni Krishna. He personally took the print to Tirupati to perform Pooja. And he arranged a special premier show at 9 pm in Tenali on 23rd night. The distributor (of Guntur area) who offered 1.3 crores against the wishes of producer who was willing to sell for 1.5 crores, changed his mind after the preview show is completed and asked the producer to give it for 1.5 crores. But the producer relented to sell it even for 1.7 crores.

- Reported by IB team from Guntur.

INDRA is having smashing openings across the state. The shows have started right from 23rd night. Cinema halls are screening INDRA by keeping aside even 4 week old movies. The black ticket rates for the day were Rs. 1400 at Vizag. Vijayawada has seen a low black ticket price due to police commissioner yet few black marketers managed to make Rs. 500 on each ticket.

Indra is released in Naz Deluxe, Naz Apsara, Saraswati and Harihar Mahal in Guntur city. The police commissioner of Guntur made sure that each and every ticket is sold to the people stood the serpentine queues right from the mid night of 23rd July. But the black marketers managed to sell the tickets for Rs. 500. The first show at Tenali started at 6 am and in Guntur, it started at 8 am.

There have been huge crowds across the state from 23rd night and the inflow is continuing. In Vijayawada the Apasara road has been blocked for traffic and only the movie goers are allowed to walk.

In a side theater like Satyam (Hyderabad) the ticket for morning show was sold for Rs 400 in black.

Madanapally: In Madanapally, the tickets of Indra were sold in the lots of Rs 1000/- and Rs 1500/- each. Hoards of movie lovers from various cities of Karnataka like Kolar, Chintamani, KGF, Genjinuru, Siddagadda, Chikkaballapur came to the Andhra boarder town Madanapalli to watch Indra. It was released in 4 theaters in Madanapally and 16 shows were exhibited and Indra collected 6 lakhs on day one in Madanapally itself.

Palakollu: Here is the complaint lodged by a idlebrain.com visitor (Gangaputra) from Palakollu to the producer Aswini Dutt. He says that theater management is putting unreasonably high flat rates for the show. The rate for the 6 am show was Rs 125/- and the remaining shows was Rs 60/-. The black tickets were sold at much higher prices. The total amount collected for the day one in single main theater was Rs 2,30,375/-. The capacity of theater is 475 seats.

6'o clock show 475 x 125 = 59375-00
9'0 clock show 475 x 60 = 28500-00
12'o clockshow 475 x 60 = 28500-00
3'0 clock show 475 x 60 = 28500-00
6'o clock show 475 x 60 = 28500-00
9'o clock show 475 x 60 = 28500-00
12'o clockshow 475 x 60 = 28500-00
Total collection 230375-00.

Eluru: NTR's allari Ramudu created record by screening 21 shows on day one. Indra crossed it by having 27 shows on day one.

Chiranjeevi fans Go Berserk at Bellary:
Diehard fans of Chiranjeevi stormed a theater in the heart of Bellary on Tuesday midnight for a special screening of Indra, the stars latest release. But the theater management announced that the regular show would be screened only at 11 am on 24th July. The irked fans destroyed a newly constructed park, uprooting saplings and braking benches. Giving into mob mania, the district authorities gave a special permission and allowed the Theatre management to screen the film at mid night and the theater screen three shows prior to 11 am show on 24th July. (Note: This is the news item in the main page of Times of India edition of Bangalore). - by PSK

Chiranjeevi fan attempts suicide: A die-hard fan of Chiranjeevi attempted suicide on Tuesday by pouring kerosene on himself after he failed to get ticket for the movie Indra. However, he was prevented from setting himself ablaze by other movie buffs, who had gathered at the theatre near Tower Clock. The release of the movie witnessed much hangama, as hundreds of fans gathered at the theatre for advance booking for the film. Fans from all over the district were mobilised to make it a mega event. Meanwhile, the tickets for the show were sold in black market for up to Rs 150 per ticket.
